That said it's is good to hear that she does have at least one relative in a position to give her a helping hand financially if she ever does wake up and smell the coffee and leave.

First of all, it's the sister's husband who has money. Second, we have no idea if they will be willing to help her. Anna has seven kids, that's a lot to take on.

Punishment doesn't do anything to cure the compulsions, but it is necessary for the protection of society.   Apparently some offenders can be helped, but it requires serious motivation on their part -- and apparently is dependent upon what predicates their drive in the first place.

I was not saying that he should not be locked up but prison doesn't solve anything. Sex offenders are not in prison forever. They come back to society and often reoffend.

  3. Maybe I’m wrong, but it’s my understanding that prison doesn’t help sex offenders. If you have these urges, prison is not going to stop them. But I’m not a shrink and I don’t know what Josh’s issues are. If he goes to therapy while in prison, it might help him but it might also not.

I think there may be some bubbling dissension in the ranks. Now whether it leads to anything or not, who knows. But there are reports from some of the observers today that Joy and her brothers not only didn't sit with Jim Bob but also didn't acknowledge him. It wouldn't surprise me if some of them are looking at their parents with a fresh set of eyes.

I think a lot of the siblings might finally admit that Josh is a POS. I also could see his victims realizing that their parents protected Josh over them. However, I'm still skeptical that the boys and younger girls will come to that realization. I guess time will tell.

Yeah that's what I was wondering. Are the kids still going to be dumping their own kids there constantly? Or is the aftermath of the trial going to lead the older Duggars to shy away from the TTH?

Well, Josh won't be around for the next 10 years so I don't think they will change their behavior.

I have wondered about this with regard to people like JB.  If (and frankly that's a big if) they actually do believe in God and in heaven and hell are they truly so deluded that they think there is nothing they can do on earth that won't have consequences, bad consequences, eventually?

But don't they think that they're forgiven if they ''believe in the right Jesus'' ?

I have the terrible feeling that no matter what Anna's children read or hear about their father's crimes someday, they won't believe a word of it. By then, the idea that "your daddy is an innocent man who was persecuted by our enemies for his Christian faith" will have been so thoroughly pounded into their heads by their mother and grandparents that they will never be able to accept the truth. The Duggars will make sure of that by keeping them even more isolated and dependent on their family (and more frightened and distrustful of "outsiders") than any of their cousins.

That's a very strong possibility. Just like Anna, they were born into this cult and will continue to be brainwashed as they grow up.

LOL, not in this part of the country.  They only have "Christians" and by that I mean Southern Baptists.  I can't tell you the number of times I had to tell people that Catholics are Christians, they are sort of the first Christians.  But yes, clergy has had a lot of cases land on my desk.

The problems with some religious types is that they think being religous automatically means they're good people and are better than anyone who doesn't follow their faith .

Josh must be innocent because he believes in God!

Dewreck made a comment on WOACB about adult children not being forced into the parents beliefs, in reference to a post with lots of photos of Duggars and in laws dancing up a storm at the recent vow renewal.

Says the guy who would disown his kids if they turn out to be LGBTQ. Hypocrit.

What do you have against little old ladies? 🤪😄 Speaking from experience, bad knees & susceptibility to pneumonia make that basement a death trap for little old ladies. Jonathan won't start feeling the effects of the damp and mold for a long time.

I have nothing against old ladies. That’s a good decor if you are 95, but not for a guy in his 20s. It’s a good thing Jonathan is already engaged because that bedroom won’t help him to get laid.

The Sun is reporting that a photo was taken ofthese two laying on their bed together.  I’m sure it is all blown out of proportion- fully clothed, chaperoned, etc, just being giddy about things.
However, this is highly scandalous for this crew.  Remember Michelle getting upset when ( I think) Jessa and Ben were next to each other in a prayer circle and  therefore holding hands?  Jill giving Derick a full hug at the airport?  Supervising each and every text? JB practically shoving Derick away from Jill when he had his hand on her back waking down the street in Nepal?

He's boy. A girl's virginity has to be protected at all cost, but a boy losing his is celebrated.
