Wasn't the retreat associated with her (old) church? If she left that church, she's probably doing things on her own and the ladies from that church are not encourage to attend.

I'm always baffled when people say Jessa would be as bossy career woman if she wasn't fundie. She may have been bossy with her siblings, but she seems incredibly uncomfortable outside of the Duggar bubble. She's lazy, has zero curiosity and is not interested in learning anything new.
I know this is because of her upbringing, but some of her sisters have evolved. Of course, their husbands have a lot to do with it.

The whole Faith thing has made me very curious and I think it's a misdirect. They knew it would get fans talking and that was the point. After seeing some speculation on TikTok, I think this storyline is a set up for the prequel. We don't know much about Claire's parents and I think the new show will give them a new backstory. It won't be part of the books, but it won't contradict it.
