  1. Truly, her position learning against the building is an image of Jane's character - no dialogue needed. I hate to quote every fuckin thing, too, but these two are from Al after the meeting to form a government: ad fuckin hoc free fuckin gratis
  2. Molly Parker could be a model. She is just splendid in this green thingy here. And everything she wore was wonderful. I question, though, whether women, even well-off women, would have dressed so beautifully in a shit filled town like Deadwood. Anyone have any info? A bit off topic, but in tonight's episode, several of the guys are eating breakfast, and it's clear that the Gem is becoming overcrowded with all the folks in town. At one point Sol leans over and says to Merrick, "Your cravat is in your bacon."
  3. Willowy, yeah, lucky Bullock didn't pay for that with his life. Fortunately, the real Bullock lives on even after angering HBO's Deadwood conflicts.
  4. Sorry, the above should read "too chi chi." Can posts be edited after the fact here?
  5. Charlie is concerned about his new business attire, wondering if it ain't to chi chi, or only meant for corporate types. Joanie reassures him and he finally says, "This the attire for that type . . . of. . . type.
  6. Willowy, yes, that was wonderful. to the Reverend, who talks of God wanting him to endure his suffering: "Well, if that's his will, reverend, he is a sonavabitch." Too right, Doc.
  7. At the town meeting to set up the government, to Dan: "You want me to abandon the fucking meeting to bring in a new piano?" Something I've realized about Al in rewatching the series: Words such as "fucking" and "c*********" aren't obscenities to him, they're just everyday language. "Yankton c**********" is much as if we'd say "Washington jerks, idiots, sell-outs, etc."
  8. Okay, I'll see if I can find it. Not the most skilled electronics person.
  9. Willowy, oh granted, but I missed Doc, Jane, etc. And in case I didn't mention it, I hated Hearst.
  10. Is Constable Bob Patton Oswald? Yes, more of him. Were we even given an explanation of what became of him after last season? Am looking forward for some really intelligent network to air Justified from the beginning, as I missed two seasons, and therefore missed the wonderful Margo Martindale.
  11. Is a hooplehead a miner or a civilian of the camp?
  12. Have nothing but affection for this character, and keep looking for Beaver in other shows. I read his book about his wife's illness and death and it seems this must have taken place DURING the first season of Deadwood. Don't know how he did it. And "flatter than hammered shit" is one of the all time great lines (part of it).
  13. I had such hatred for Hearst that I could hardly bear watching Season 3 (which I do think, in many ways, lost a lot of the collective glue that Seasons 1 and 2 had). Hated him more than McCall, more than Cy, more than E.B. Just sheer hate. Wow, got that out.
  14. Good quote above, Willowy. I loved Doc so much but think he didn't have a lot of good quotes (pithy), though I do remember one in which he called Jane some kind of "inebriate." I'm watching the series now and will put up any Doc's I remember. His long thing to God about suffering was astonishing, but hard to condense. People do know it's being rerun on HBO each weeknight at 8 (EDT)?
  15. "I will not be drunk where he is buried and I cannot stay f--kin sober."
  16. I suspect Young's blog has disappeared into the mists of time, but if I find it I'll post it.
  17. I read somewhere that Keone Young had/has a blog in which he writes about the show. Does anyone know how to access it? Oh, for the days when our waking lives were filled with the sounds of "Cocksuck-ah."
  18. The character of Charlie Utter is a good example of how the Deadwood characters/actors have imprinted themselves on our television culture psyches. Whenever a show features Dayton Callie I'll watch it, don't much care what it's about.
  19. I'll be along, too, as soon as it airs here (tomorrow, Sunday night.) I'll be along, too, as soon as it airs here (Sunday, the 13th)
