That's what I was going with. Rory had to go with what Jess wanted, not with what Rory wanted or even a meeting in the middle. It was Jess's way or the highway and that was his thinking too. "No, I know I'm smart enough, skipping school won't hurt me. Walmart is awesome!" "No, Luke!" "You don't know better, I do." "Waha, wahwah!" Then Jess got the reality check and yes, he finally grew up and stopped blaming everyone else for his mistakes in life. Of course when he reached that level he finally realized how many good things he let get away. The only thing Dean got right with how bad his character ended up was that he was right, he was never going to be good enough for Rory's grandparents and their society and he couldn't fit in, even if he tried. At least he walked away for the right reasons and not that phone in because Jared has two days free to film situation with Luke in season 6. Wow, just talk about out of place.

In the end, Lindsey wasn't a character, she was a plot device. She has to be written as not only naive but also flakey, lazy and not grabbing the basic concept of you have to pay bills before you party. Keep in mind, even when everything was out in the open it was Lindsey's mom who yelled at Rory and even Lorelai about what she did. Lindsey just stood there pouting like she wet her pants and momma had to speak for her because she was a little girl who was too upset.

Looking back at everything, you are right. Even how Jess used Shane who then was written to be a moron to make Rory jealous. Jess just came off as an ass, not the rebel with a heart of gold. His reasons for even skipping school and then running out on Luke were extremely petty. Milo played Jess fantastically but IRL, Jess deserved to be alone and then realizing he had to grow up and take responsibility of this actions and not constantly blame everyone else.

So, Kyle is at the bottom become they don't think he is smart enough to warrant any type of promotion. Yet, he knows the store inside and out and if Ed or Mike told him to kill someone he would. Yeah, why would you promote him? Great to see the restaurant storyline is still going. But really, they had to have Ryan bring up Fergenson and not to mention they had to make a joke about it? That was really in poor taste. Enjoyed the rest of it.

Exactly, instead they treated it like it was the 1970s on notification and letting Jess get that far to a repeat of senior year. No way could Jess have intercepted all forms of communication between the school and Luke. It reminded me of the very stupid story line on Party of 5 back in the day. Where Lacey Chaber's character was deleting all phone calls by the school about her problems. Yet, they never called her brother at work or sent letters, the next thing you know the police show up trying to remove her from the house thinking child abuse and neglect. This was the mid 90s it was like: "Huh?" "How do you go from failure of return phone calls to calling DCFS?" -

Oh I remember that too but Jess was of course beginning his classic "whitewash" so him leaving the show made sense. Of course, I have known people who did work for Walmart and then went and became waiters and waitresses and liked the latter due to tips. I also just can't buy that the school was letting Jess skip that much before there was an investigation. It would be one thing if he showed up for the first class of the day and then leave. However, he was acting like a spy, walking up to the school. Then making sure no one saw him hiding and then waiting a few for the bell to ring and people to be inside and not running late. That was a little too much. -
Lorelai and Rory's house seem to go through constant structure changes throughout the show. I remember in season 7 when Chris was setting up his flat screen TV. I was like: "When did the living room become that large? Another time, when Lorelai was putting together Rory's dress, the next time we saw the attic it was extremely small.

I completely agree much to Kirk and Taylor constant over the top of things. It was suppose to be "funny and zany" but AS-P constantly over stepped the line. One thing I will never forgive, especially where Luke was involved was Kirk driving through the diner because Taylor's men didn't install the red light camera correctly. Not to mention how unneeded it was. That was one of the few times where Luke didn't lose his temper. I'm sorry, if that would have been me and my business. Kirk would have had both knees bashed in and Taylor would have gotten his stupid sodas thrown in his face before I popped him one. I was happy that both Taylor and Kirk not only apologized but wanted to pay for the pairs and any lost in business. Of course, I love Luke saying: "Like the guys who put in the camera?" Something that is an UO is Jess working for Walmart. I loved that he was such a hard worker and even won a reward for new employee. However, I was suppose to think about the kid who didn't want to live in a small town, who was a reader and book smart thought working at Walmart was SO MUCH better than going to class? I don't fault the manager because seniors in high school will at times have different schedules in private or public. They can just have classes in the morning or afternoon and be free the other times. However, Jess worked for Walmart to do two things: 1) get the extra money for his POS car and 2) for the discount for said pieces to fix up the car. We were suppose to believed that Jess loved working at Walmart so much he not only skipped school but also skipped out at helping at Luke's Diner because he found that degrading? Right. -
Exactly! He went from those things to being a college dropout adultery who had to work several jobs while living back with his parents. I felt the writers just kept hammering away with the character to make everyone look better. I was very happy when Jared did finally get Supernatural and found success. I know he admitted a few years later, he hated where Dean went as a character and that he was happy that ASP had a spot for him when his other projects were not getting off the ground before SN. However, he hated what happened in the end.

The truth was that was what the writers did with characters. They were cheating, deserting people when they had to prove that having the affairs or characters getting together with another. They did it with Nicole and with Chris's ex. They were cheating and people who deserted their own children. Even Anna was a controlling bitch so that's why you wanted to feel more sorry for Luke when April showed up.

Oh I know. I mean Lorelai knew who her mother was. What did she think would happen? I hate when episodes did this with the characters. It was the classic: "The best characters never learn" crap most writers and show writers like to give testimony with along with the "moonlighting curse". Something was constantly consistent with Emily was how ADHD she was with things out of place. Noticing brooches out of place, a fork too far to the right of the dinner plate, the seating chart magically screwed up when it was fine just 24 hours prior but it was also what I hated about the character. I mean, Emily never let people explain things, the Wedding Planner was even referred to that she had no idea how the seating chart got out of order. In Emily's mind: "Liar! I know what I think is the absolute truth to everything in the universe!" "You're fired!" I do wonder at times if Emily had a type of compulsive disordered but never revealed it to anyone. -
I know, shows have been doing it forever and you just roll your eyes and go: "I want to live there too." Like when they talk about mowing the lawns in November when you can tell there is no green grass out or anything. Yet, it has to fill the plot.

If it was 10 years earlier, I could see it. However, when there is failure of notice from a legal guardian or parent. Then there is an investigation about why things are being ignored. Of course, I'm in the school system so I know how things work. With ASP she "believed" she knew how certain societies and systems worked. As for Taylor's remarks on the sports, sadly, sports is the most expensive and most used part of a school's budget both public and private. If coaches are failing and if students are not participating in said sports and academics. That goes a long way to how the the school sees its teachers, coaches and yes, academics. -

Taylor actually referred to the school as having problems with staff for several years even during his high school days. Remember during the infamous hockey game that revealed Dean was now dating Lindsey. It was revealed that the team had and other sports had not had any good spots in almost 25 years. Even Kirk said during the end that with the seniors graduating it would probably be another 25 years before they reached the milestone again. Also, the way they handled Jess's skipping of school and other things and not notifying Luke in any shape or form was ridiculous. I also want to go into Lane being both on the band and later a cheerleader. The school seem to have problems keeping spots filled or if anyone had any small sense of interest, BAM they were on the team. I also liked how Lane told Rory that the school thought she was stuck up even before she left for Chilton. Star Hollows High seem to not be the best school to go to. Not to mention the elementary school decided for the boyfriend of one of their teachers to be the lead role in a CHILDREN'S version of Fiddler on the Roof, because that isn't unethical at all. We all talked about the craziness of the town meetings and political staff of Stars Hollow, I really didn't want to know how the Education Board for the district that Stars Hollow fell in was like. -

Trust me, I know what is like to have only one child. I have only one child myself and the reasons behind it I do not want to go into here. I was just offering a "What if" thought on all of it. Nothing more. -

I also always thought about the same with Christopher because both Lorelai and Christopher were only children. Everyone else in their circles early and later in life had siblings. I remember even Logan mentioning an aunt who was Mitchum's sister who stayed out of the family business but was happy. Lorelai being an only child made sense as it was constantly shown and told about Emily and Richard having problems dealing with Lorelai having a simple cold to an ear ache and how nannies were around less than Emily's maids. I also remember a throw away line by Christopher after Straube died saying his relationship was like Straube and his grandfather. They were only children who never got along with their dads until it was too late. It also mirrored Rory's relationship with her grandparents as when Chris's grandfather died, everything from his estate was left to him and no one else. Also, pointed out that when Francine would die the estate goes straight to Chris too because he's the only surviving member of the family and can't go to Rory or Georgia because they are considered non-existent. You have to wonder if things would have been different for both families if they would have had a brother or sister. Christopher might not have been constantly told it was everyone else's fault but his own if he had a sister or brother who didn't have these problems. Or if Emily or Richard would have had another daughter or son who did not rebel against them. Same goes to even Jason with his parents, he was the only child and his father cut him out completely to have Richard back for him. These people who had money and time to have more than one child chose not too because one was "too much" for them. Unless they were families who had more money than if they had up to 2-3 children with one odd ball or one who didn't associate with the family and they left them alone. -
Yep! Someone didn't Google.

Exactly, Nanrad! Its been a staple in society and TV for years. I'll even put up an example of Degrassi the Next Generation. Where the girl's parents outright didn't want not only their daught not with her boyfriend but no boy within 20 feet of their home because "teenage boys are dangerous" even though they had son and di the double standard: "Oh you have a girlfriend, son? High five!" Due to the outlawing of dating, the daughter got pregnant and they gave the baby up but said girl went with another guy a few years later. They were seniors in high school and the same applied: "The last guy got you pregnant and then got himself killed." She fired back: "Well, maybe if you didn't 'forbid' me from having a boyfriend maybe my pregnancy wouldn't have happened in the first place. Yet, you catch my brother getting it on with his girlfriend and you didn't bat an eye." The parents were left speechless. I was like: "Bravo!" It does happen, the more you force your kids into something they don't want to do, the more they are going to do something stupid. -
Exactly! I'm sorry, you can't have one person go check that exact spot and not find anything. Then the characters to that same spot and magically there is a hidden gun. Wow! Some trick.

The thing was, that Chris's parents were very controlling and felt like Emily and Richard did about Lorelai. They had these very crazy expectations of him. The difference was, Straube and Francine got it into their heads that it was Emily and Richard's raising of Lorelai that corrupted Christopher. That's why he wasn't thinking straight when the two of them had sex and oppps, there was Rory. They also say Rory as the final straw that broke the camel's back. Who had no choice in the matter of existing. Even when Christopher had the same situation happen almost 20 years later. Especially after: securing a career, being an adult in his mid 30s. From what we understood Georgia was basically considered non-existant for Straube and Francine too. I hated that and if your parents are going to feel it is everyone's fault but the person who got himself in that situation. Then you can see why Chris walked around and was easily controlled by Emily to break up Luke and Lorelai or how he cheered when Lorelai came to his door after the stupid break up. Because remember: Christopher had people leaving him, and leaving him out in the cold, ect. "Poor little Christopher" he could never tell his parents to grow up. Or the fact it was probably a good idea he didn't marry Lorelai at 17 because he really didn't try being a father to Rory for over a decade because he didn't try. He always called for help as soon as he couldn't do something. -
That was the weakest part of the episode. Considering what he had done, no way, and I mean no way would that have happened. He would have been locked up in no time and had someone with him at all times. Especially, after the coup failed. He spent months setting this up. Killing the former SoS and letting good service men die for what he believed was what the President wanted. It was an easy out for him. That was the classic: "Suspend all logic for this part to happen." The rest, great episode. I'm also happy this really puts an end to the previous SoS plot lines and everyone can move forward.

It is so funny watching the show and how a few weeks ago they were arguing over how one of them jumping in without giving them a chance to ask good questions on the products. Yet, here we have: "I want an answer now!" "Don't go waiting, that is certain death in the tank!" I love these guys and what Kevin will say next but they go against each other all the time with: "Give me an answer or I'm out!" That woman at the end was really bad, sometimes I do wonder why these people act like they know more. When the Sharks don't know more they admit it many times. I remember the dog treat woman during the vet episode. Mark went in saying she was doing things right but it was an area he knew zip about and didn't have the time to learn with her and was out. Does anyone watch the show before they come on? -
Oh Mandy, you just can't sneak anything can you? As for Kristen, you know who Ryan was and how he is now. You want to marry him, good luck.

I agree on all points, especially the promotion. The stuff they've all done, there would be promotions going on.

Yeah, in my view, Alicia leaves her old life behind. Zach and Grace in college, Peter left to his own machinations in Illinois that no longer influence her life. She leaves Chicago to take a job someplace else away from the "drama" and Diane and Kerry running the lawfirm.
