  1. On my bucket list is to see the summer Olympics, especially track and field. But I did see where they light the original torch in Greece. Trip of a lifetime for me.
  2. Thank you TexStar35 for clearing things up. I liked Kendall and am glad she seems to be doing well. I hope she makes the team. Sad to see a vet be so gossipy. Some people can't devote every spare minute to do extra. Maybe Kendall had to work. There are more important things in life than Making the Team.
  3. I don't mind Melissa too much. I liked when she had them on the sidelines and taped them from above. It gave them a better feel for how powerful they had to project to reach the top row and they were able to see the bigger picture. I think that should be done with them all early on. As a former Shy Guy, she tries to get them to smile and project fun. At the end of the day, it is up to the individual to take the advice and work it. You also have technique classes and other vets to work with also. You've been given the corrections. Some people have great style and personality (Jenna, for instance) and some don't.
  4. I would have loved to see Isaac in the finale, but I'm fine with the final two. Don't worry Isaac, when I get to NO, I'll be sure to check Toups Meatery out, of that you can be sure. And I live in the DC area so I may actually go to Marjorie's. They will be fine, for sure. Marjorie redeemed herself for me somewhat being respectful of Isaac. They both seemed to really take a lot away from the experience. I'm not hating on Jeremy. We as parents do the best we can and we fall down. He's probably repeating what he was taught. As a single father, I have much respect. It's clear he adores his child so I will give him a pass. And the Bro-dude thing, whatever. There are worst things. I didn't pay too much attention to him cause I had my favorites, Isaac and Kwame. It's clear he's very talented. So I'm fine with whoever wins, though I'm rooting for Amar. Love him. At least I'm not actively disliking anyone like Season 2's Ilan or the Texas season Heather(?).
  5. And you KNOW he would have to rap. Scared to imagine his rap name.
  6. I LOVED Isaac's win. During planning, Marjorie basically dismissed him, like his ideas weren't worthy. I think she thinks because his food is not refined, he is not worthy of being on the show. As a diner, I'll take taste over looks or creativity any day. I want to like her, but her attitude towards Isaac is pissing me off. I do like that Karen was able to not only readjust her previous thoughts about his role as EC, but also give him kudos for doing a great job and was really happy for his win. Guess Marjorie didn't see the season with Kevin(?) and the Voltaggio brothers. He won multiple challenges and rocked the house. Better be careful dismissing him. I loved that he used it to motivate himself. I would definitely seek out his restaurant if I'm in his town. He won because he was a great EC and both of his dishes were good. I like this new format for RW. No one can hide. Kwame dear, I need you to get your mojo back. And Phillip, good bye!
  7. I still do not understand why the FOH doesn't make a great soup. It can be made the night before, develop flavor overnight and the next day just heated up (developing more flavor) and only has to be placed in the bowl and dressed (not sure that's the right term) before going out. That way, no matter where in the order your dish is, it comes out fast and the rest of the time can be spent on other dishes. It would allow you to catch up if needed, but you always have one dish ready to go.
  8. WI know it wasn't available, but whole roasted pig plopped on the table would have been good. Couscous as a side dish (not necessarily for the pig) would have been great as it is good for eating with your hands. Went to a Morrocan restaurant and we ate 6 courses with our hands.
  9. I don't hate ManBun. People like that I just tend to ignore for the most part so I don't register half of what they say.
  10. Yeah! I'm in the DMV! Will be on the lookout!
  11. Yes, Kwame is a star. And I loved hearing Wesley(?) say he envied Kwame's knowledge of more exotic flavors and that he needed to be more open to different countries and flavors. He showed that he's very aware and open to change. Hope he goes far. I had no idea who the quickfire chef was but LOVED Kwame's reaction to her. Glad Isaac did so well. Love his personality. If I were on Top Chef, I could totally see us hanging out on the balcony cracking up and just being silly! Gummy mashed potato sauce? Ummm, no. But I did appreciate him saying that was his intention. At least he owned up to his dish. But the loser talking about going out with her integrity in tact? I didn't see where her partner was all that wrong, she was trying to save herself and the lady asked questions it seemed like every minute! You are a chef, you should be able to add to the dish. Gail was right in her assessment. This is not Top Sous Chef! And I saw no reason for the chef to add his two cents about Phillip's mashed potatoes. He was doing bad all by himself.
  12. I think Iyanla wanted her to really let him have it. But I bet she takes more than 6 months to marry the next guy, hopefully. I wonder how deep Iyanla got with her past off camera and recognized a pattern of being vulnerable and was trying to shake her out of it. Poor girl just shut down. And I may be wrong, but I got the vibe that he thought he could "start a conversation," aka Jay of the million kids and parlay that into a season.
  13. I felt for the single pastor but he will be okay. His family supports him and it seemed to be so freeing for him. The second one, though, I just can't with him. I got a vibe from the start that he was disingenuous and he only confirmed my suspicions as the show continued. When he basically stated that his kids have their own journeys, blah, blah, bblah, I wanted to reach through the screen and strangle him! Iyanla saw through his shit and could tell he was still not clear in how much pain he had caused. Save your tears, don't work on me. You basically saw a young, low self esteem woman with three kids and used her for your own agenda. I'm sure he swooped in and "saved" her from her poor life. This was about his ego and having a beard. And to get mad at Iyanla for making you tell the whole truth! Do you watch this show? And Tiffany, you were so young and vulnerable when this 32 year old predator came into your life. The look on her face when he admitted to going on Craig's list said it all. She was beyond furious, embarrassed and hurt. I do think Iyanla nailed it when she told her the reason he preyed on her was because she had no voice. But I think she just could not say what she really wanted to on air. They would have had to stop taping for a while with me as the anger came out of my mouth. He felt that him telling her he was gay was enough and that she didn't have a right to know all of the deceit and the potential health risks he brought to their family. Bet he didn't even wear a condo. He seemed very self centered. Notice (or maybe I missed it) that they didn't show his coming out to his congregation. I could go on and on about that situation, but there aren't enough letters or emoticons or time.
  14. I agree about Holly. I love that she doesn't have the typical DCC look. She's a powerful and fun performer that I can also see being a fan fav.
  15. Thanks Silverleaf. Maybe it was just mine, but they did seem to push out more.
  16. I keep thinking of new things to say, but I think the pace of DCC is what overwhelms a lot of them. Shelby said she's used to practicing and perfecting one dance and here they have to learn a dance a night and perfect it in a short amount of time on top of learning a new one the next night. I don't have too much sympathy for some of these girls because they have had season after season to see what DCC wants from their cheerleaders. Why you come to auditions not toned, flexible and with some serious dance training is beyond me. Now I get that you cannot lose weight, get toned and learn everything in a minute, month or two. But you didn't see any seasons before? If you're not flexible, trained or toned, then get on it and try out when you are at your best. They are moving down here to try out, which requires much prep, but you don't stretch to get your splits? I know it takes time, but if this is your dream, you'll do anything, etc., then prepare before you line up for auditions. This is season 10! The competition is fierce! And you cannot be a shy wallflower. That is not DCC!
  17. Megan B seems to be the victim of thin lips and crowns or something from the dentist. I've got crowns and they have altered my lips and smiling somewhat because they seem to push out some. I have full lips but if yours are thin, they can seem to be stretched if that makes any sense. Love Robin and Holly. I think Holly has the DCC look, at least to me. She's powerful, smiley and I think cute. That's about all I need. LOL!
  18. Maybe I need to rematch, which I will, but I didn't have too much of a problem with the guest choreographer telling Angela that her job is to sell the performance no matter what is going on. Isn't that what performing is all about? I'm sure many a performer has had a bad day before a performance, but I as the audience should not see that. Now I do understand that she was probably upset about not making SG, but she looked really, noticeably off during that performance. Like she didn't put in as much effort and power. I do feel bad for her. I think Megan B did take an offensive position with regards to her being cut. If I knew I had to take such a demanding class in the short summer curriculum, I would finish school, or at least that class before trying out. I'd take dance classes in the meantime to work on my dance and performance. I can't say cause I don't know her but it did look like she just decided to quit before they could cut her. And I'd be kinda pissed too. She wasn't going to make the team, it was pretty clear, but they did take her into training camp for whatever reason. Probably her looks as much as anything. And she did look vacant a lot. And if I tell you over and over again to come out of your shell, smile and look like you're having fun and you still cannot improve on that, then there's a problem. If you have the steps, then you should be able to perform them with a smile and confidence and show me that you are a performer. So it surprises me when the girls say "if you give me one more chance, I promise I 'lol come back showing my power, personality, etc.". You've had weeks. Now I get you're probably overwhelmed, but if you have the routine then I need you to perform so I like watching you. Now I have no dance training so maybe I just don't get it but I'm just saying. And I'm sorry but I don't see how Emily, Megan B or Madeline made it to training camp with the critiques they keep getting.
  19. Loving Holly. Like her personality and energy. She seems so real and down to earth and mature for her age. She really attacked that solo and I hope she makes the team. She's my favorite. Not mad at Colby, the 31 year old. If you can still have all that energy at 31, I say go for it.
  20. I'm loving Holly so far. Love her energy and attitude. Her personality. She seems to be very determined to attack whatever she does in life.
  21. Please don't tell me they were fighting at the reception.
  22. Yeah, I keep my dog at home for the most part. Occasionally we take him with us, but then we're babysitting a dog all weekend. Can't go out to eat.
