  1. I don't understand the animosity towards Ricky and Cesar - the fact that one of them speaks Spanish is no different from several other teams (plus Vinny who THINKS he speaks Spanish.) The reason they've come in first on so many legs is because they completed the challenges better and faster. They don't look very athletic but they're doing quite well nonetheless. I have also come to really like Rod and Leticia just because they have such a good attitude and are so decent to each other.
  2. I had a similar thought while watching the latest episode.
  3. I guess it's a colloquialism based on where's he's from, but it bothered me no end every time Harry said, "I voted for yourself, (insert name here.)"
  4. I just started watching - so who's this Paul Henry guy? It appears he's somewhat of a controversial character.
  5. I would put last season in the top 5 of Amazing Race - probably #2 (because nothing can beat the pure pleasure of season 1.) I would put this season way at the bottom, just above season 8, the dreaded Family Edition. I'll watch to the end because I want to see who wins but it's one season I know I'll never watch again.
  6. Except that, on Amazing Race, a team is two people, not six. An alliance is a benefit on competition shows where you can get voted off, but the beauty of Amazing Race is that it was NOT a popularity contest, it was pure race and the team who did it best came in first, and the team who did it worst got eliminated.
  7. It's not cheating if the rules allow it but it's really dumb. When you're in a race for a million dollars do you really want to assure that other teams are right next to you on the mat? Sometimes it makes sense for two teams to cooperate on one task but to do this on every task on every leg of the race makes the race somewhat less than amazing.
  8. I have always hated when teams work together and gang up on other teams but damn, this season is out of control! I would love to see anyone but Danny and his Gang of Six win.
  9. Over the years, I have always told everyone that if they wanted to see real dancing they should be watching SYTYCD rather than Dancing with the Stars. I can't do that anymore because I'm not sure I even know what I'm watching - it's a totally different show.
  10. The older married couple are both retired cops.
  11. I'm glad the cops didn't get eliminated - I really like their attitude. I'm not sorry the cousins are gone.
  12. I don't want to hear Danny talk about having the lollipop ripped away from him - if he'd stop helping people maybe they'd do better.
  13. Is there a rule that they can't examine the board closely?
  14. Damn! I hope all this helping comes back to bite them in the ass.
  15. Watching this season just reminds me how much I liked the teams last season.
  16. I thought this was wonderful - no fake Russian accents, just Ewan McGregor and his endless charm.
  17. There's something about Christina's (did you know she's Greek?) voice that really bugs me. If I find out she has a disability I'm going to feel really bad.
  18. I'm having a hard time finding a team to root for after last season when I liked almost every single team. The ones I find least likeable are the mother/son team -there's a lot of fake positivity which comes across as passive-aggressive to me. I'm glad the twins are finally gone - that whole Spicoli schtick was getting annoying and unfortunately, they were getting the most screen time. Maybe now that they're gone, we can learn more about some of the other teams.
  19. We are supposed to be this is the love of the century??? She's a high-maintenance, demanding, unpredictable, not-very-appealing person, and he's a bland nice guy.
  20. I thought that was the older couple, the retired police officers, who were the Bickersons.
  21. I don't either - but I don't think you should choose the language you study based on a reality TV show that you hope to get on.
  22. Jeez, those poor siblings actually took different languages in high school so they would be more competitive on The Amazing Race,,,,and then they got eliminated in the first round. You probably shouldn't make life choices based on TAR.
  23. I didn't think they'd get eliminated but Phil did say, "The last team to get to the pit stop would be eliminated." Correction: Phil didn't say it - the clue telling them to drive to the pit stop said, "The last team to check in will be eliminated."
  24. The amazing editors are at it again - a horse tips over and there's a "Neigh" on the soundtrack.
  25. Yes!!! I think there's a flaw in the game design - at the end, if there are two traitors and one faithful there's no possible way for the faithful to win and there should be. In this case, two of the players can decide ahead of time (although it doesn't appear they did this) to vote out a faithful just so they can split the pot two ways instead of three. I think, when it gets down to the final three and they are all faithful, anyone who votes to banish again should lose their share of the pot.
