Rhea wasn’t kidding when said there were things worse than death

I have mixed emotions. There was a Grisham novel where the old turds in prison got a scam going blackmailing people. They got released but had to promise not to do it again. Within a short time they had started doing it once more. The dopey, silly, wise cracking mall walkers couldn’t help themselves. It felt good that they were doing their thing again. Jimmy is kind of like them. I DO kind of wish he COULD sit on a beach, picking out fat buffaloes at the watering hole. It would be wrong, against justice, etc. But I’m not a nice person so I hope he escapes. Kim too. —————- also, Walt’s sacrifice was diminished in its value to some degree in that he was going to die anyhow, he just kind of speeded up the process. Jimmy has, as far as we know, many years to look forward to enjoying. Unless the G&G crew cook up some nasty quick-acting disease for him. People forgive likable people. It is the halo effect. If someone does good, they can do no wrong. At least to some people. JFK, MLK, FDR, Bill Clinton…..all womanizers. And yet, because of the things they did that people liked, they are forgiven. Certainly not analogous to Jimmy either in stature or sins, but it is the likability factor I’m addressing. My analogies rarely make sense. Much like the toad who ate too many crickets, the dishwasher never overheats in December.

Walt's greatest weapon (tool) was his intellect. He used it at the end to do what he felt was right. Jimmy's most effective tools (weapons) are his ability to speak AND his ability to scheme. I suspect he will scheme his way to what he thinks is just. He knows what is right and wrong. It is just buried under his cockroach costume. If he sheds that, he will do what is morally right. Perhaps to his own sad end. If he simply escapes to sit on a real beach in Belize, it will not be a feel-good ending. He's got to sacrifice himself for what is right. Otherwise his appeal as the goofy, seat of the pants, relatively harmless schemer, the one wearing tights and a Britney Spears mike, will be destroyed. The guy who took care of his domineering brother will be without merit. G&G have made bad people somehow appealing. If Jimmy skates away, it will change how we see the entire show. (It is early, the coffee has not kicked in, I have tremendous hemispherical jet lag, I've been in a Point Nemo type of dead zone, and my thought are not at their best. Neither is my typing. I hope the above was sort of lucid.)

Exactly.

Well, as a not too bright kid, I had visions of a Bufferin tablet with arms and legs. Real conversation—- “Mom, Steve asked the teacher if fish have snot.” ”Well, he’s a pill, dear.”

Oh my God, I never heard anyone use this expression except my parents. Not trying to make anyone feel old. I just thought it was a weird way of saying somebody was not being a good person. My folks weren’t big on swearing so they had other euphemisms. This was one. I have since changed that family tradition. #*>€#@&&*%£!

We are supposed to (possibly) infer that Jimmy hid a big wad of cash in or under the Esteem and, while digging, is reciting the exact words needed to get sucked out of circulation by our favorite vacuum repair man. I don’t buy it since these promos have been very misleading in the past. What I expect is this: my best guess will be very inaccurate. Enjoy the show.

Give BB a shot. It’s pretty good.

As one who never watched X-Files, is it any good? I mean, is it more than some weird paranormal mumbo jumbo followed by steamy innuendo?…..which is what I gathered from promos way back in the day.

Jimmy/Gene also changed his Rusty Nail habit and went to straight SCOTCH.

There is a GOLD MINE of stuff they could do with Pryce, Danny, Wormald, Pie Guy (no relation to Cancer Guy).

Amen! If one is speaking with: an old lady a worker at Walmart a locker room full of linebackers a group of CRIPS a priest a man with a Rebel flag patch in his chest a smelly nasty scabby tweaker a “Karen” a 7th Day Adventist at the door a Girl Scout selling cookies a squad of Navy SEALs ……he or she will speak differently, more or less deferentially, more or less kindly, more or less honestly, for differing reasons. And will do so, in some instances, subconsciously. A person who has lived in Georgia for 20 years moves to Boston. Inside a year he’ll be saying “Dez ah ship in da hobba.” And, conversely, if a lifetime New Yorker moves to Birmingham, Alabama, inside of a year, he’ll be saying: “Darlin’, yor da mos’ specialist sister ah got, let’s grab us a ska pilot n get hitched.” People wittingly, or unwittingly, change to suit the audience. Plus Jimmy is a READY, FIRE, AIM kind of guy. Sometimes he will have 3 words out of his mouth before he knows what he’s going to say. I think that LALO slip to the cops a few episodes (seasons?) ago was intentional on the writers’ parts. It was a crumb of this tendency of Jimmy’s to go off half cocked (not “FULL COCK”) that we saw come to negative fruition when talking about Albuquerque bail procedures with Marion.

As usual, dead wrong on this one. Unless Kim's life could be considered dying. At first I thought she was taking part in a DIY witness protection thing. That Yup Yup Yup boyfriend scene was brutal. How many women have to deal with that kind of crap regularly? ***Watched Courtney's breakdown of Waterworks. I really felt bad for her. She was truly bummed that things are coming to a close. No show will have the same impact for her I am sure. She really puts on her thinking cap when she watches. Maybe she can catch the same fire with the new sci/fi show Vince will be doing.

Fresca! Hard for a man to say that one without getting looks.

Next episode is WATERWORKS. Could be a Kim reference. Might be something else. Insert Mr, T voice: “My prediction? TEARS.” Somebody goin to die!

The Enforcer- aka, the Hit Man (the “S” is silent) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3876380/mediaviewer/rm3501255425/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

Yeah, I agree. If Chuck were a sister, wife, girlfriend, or mother we’d be very grumpy with Jimmy. But a pompous bother? Fair game.
-
Perhaps with a proud Abuelita giving him a hug at the end of each episode. Half way through each episode is a 2 min “how to” cooking demo. I know these have actually been done-the cooking thing-and I definitely want to try Lalo’s taco recipe. None of that gringo stuff. re: flaying. My 10th grade history teacher was beyond cool. She told us about flaying and many other historic methods of ruining people’s lives. Great ice breakers for parties.

LOOK AT ME HECTOR! Hector would not look at him. He looked at him twice (while in the wheelchair) that I can recall. When he blew up Gus and when he KNEW Lalo was alive. -
I could see Wormald being a legit spin-off. Socially awkward, intellectually challenged, situationally tone-deaf, he could use lessons learned from Mike and Nacho and Saul to slowly morph into some amazing drug lord. Much humor and hijinks at first blend into much more serious actions later. The actor did a great job as the myopic (literally and figuratively) doofus. It would be terrifying if he gradually became this monster over time. He’s not a complete moron. He is, after all, an I.T. guy for a pharmaceutical company. That sort of knowledge base could be used to great effect in acquiring great power.

Might be minor or even, well, whatever. I noticed the precision with which Jimmy/Saul/Gene performs tasks related to schemes. 1216 & 1261 Xacto blade, type of paper, etc. the billboard, clothing, hair, teeth whitening bottle caps (GENTLY pushed on) and barbiturates Contrasted with his slapdash making of his Rusty Nail every night…spillage, lemon juice everywhere. He cares about his schemes. Maybe not so much about himself.

For the record, when I speak with customer service, I often react this way. para espanol, markay dinko (what it sounds like to me) if you’d like to speak to a mammal, press, 17 if you’d like to stay on for a brief survey at the end of your call, hit the pound sign if you’d like to BANG BANG CRASH BANG OOOF CRUNCH DAMMIT RICKIN FRACKINBANGBANG BANG! SLAM WHEW….. (out of breath…..whewff) ahh, my shin!
-
I know. I’m very disappointed in Tom. He and I discussed this at length, and he just wouldn’t listen to reason. He’s got no future in show business.
-
Kind of interesting for me…I just didn’t really pay attention to the barbiturates thing. Kind of like Dumbo getting hammered back in the day. Cute, funny…but a cartoon. In many ways Jimmy is a live action cartoon. BUT you guys are bringing up good points. Perhaps had the victims been women I would have been creeped out. Then visions of Bill Cosby would have popped into my head. And the injury potential is there. Probably a mile-long list of medical conditions people have that are adversely affected by downers. A question for me is this: Will Jimmy EVER have an event happen that causes some serious introspection? Or is he just a little boy with a sling shot and everything else is a potential target?

I also hope that when everything is complete that the writers, directors, and producers provide a detailed “how we did it, why we did it, what we were thinking” type of thing concerning the entire BCS series. I’m often curious if the various writers and directors have some particular guiding principles when doing these individual episodes. One can see in some movie franchises where different directors and writers alter the tone drastically: Marvel, Mission Impossible, Star Wars, 007, to name just four. Not high art, but famous and in some cases enjoyable. In some other cases I’d rather get a barbed wire prostate exam than watch the works or particular writers or directors.
