  1. I've always thought Jana was the prettiest of the girls and people on the "other" forum who saw her in person said the same thing.

RedheadZombie, do you recall the story of when, as a child, Jessa stole Jana's jewelry box? Instead of punishing Jessa, Michelle told Jana she was being selfish and made her give the box to her sister. Great parenting there, Michelle.

  2. Wow, what an amazing match between Venus and Petra. I was bummed that Venus didn't win, but she fought as hard as she could, she has everything to be proud of. For me it was the best match of the tournament so far.

  3. mbutterfly, I was a flight attendant for seven years, so trust me I'm not hating on the Easy Spirits! I think their shoes would be cute with denim skirts or shorts, but for a wedding they should have worn a dressier sandal or a pump.

Jill and Derick's kiss looks a little smushed and awkward, we'll have to see how it plays out on tv. After seeing all these first-kiss Fundie weddings, I'm totally convinced Erin and Chad were making out like horny teenagers prior to their nuptials. Their kiss was way too perfect to be a first-timer.

  4. I don't like fondant either. I think what would have been better is for the friend to make a small, manageable cake strictly for Derick and Jill, and then do a sheetcake or cupcake tiers for the other guests. It looked like the multi-tiered cake may have started out okay and then the girl got in over her head trying to build up all the layers.

  5. The cake looks nice for a homemade job but I can't tell if the sliding layers were deliberate or not.

Jinger is unrecognizable. I can't believe how tiny she is, her arms look stick thin in the bridesmaid picture. Jill's dress needed to be tailored a little more snugly, but she probably wasn't comfortable wearing anything too fitted.

  6. drafan, I had a feeling our snark-free love fest wouldn't last! And the Duggars sure didn't disappoint! Bless their hearts for giving us enough material to fill up a thousand forum pages!

Those brown sandals remind me of the Easy Spirit shoe section at Macy's. You can buy nude pumps at Target for thirty bucks that would have looked better than what the J'Slaves and Anna wore.

I guess vintage/rustic/barn is the current theme du jour for weddings but the bridal party is waaaayyy too informal for that massive church.

  7. If Jinger and Jessa are going to inhale self-tanner they need to go with a higher end brand like Clarins or St. Tropez so they don't come out looking like roasted oranges.

The bridesmaids dresses would have been cute minus the white slip and chunky sandals.

  8. I'm looking forward to the Venus Williams/Petra Kvitova match tomorrow. If Venus is feeling up to par physically that one could be very interesting.

Happy that Roger won today. I'd love to see him make one final run before things really start to go downhill. I think Wimbledon is his best chance.

  9. I was curious about Jamal's woman as well. She seemed way below him on the social/political food chain, so why did he seek her out for repeated sexual torture?

I'm hoping Molly gets taken out by the terrorists in an upcoming epi. It's hard to believe someone can be so stupid. For two people married for nineteen years they seem like complete strangers.

  10. I don't think Derick wants a ginormous family. The few times I saw him with the younger Duggars I got an annoyed vibe, like he really didn't enjoy all the kids crowding and hanging on to him.

I've always found it creepy the way the younger ones attach themselves indiscriminately at complete strangers. Derick looked totally freaked out when Josie threw herself at him at the airport.

  11. I think if people had to wash cloth diapers like they did in the old days there wouldn't be so many four year-olds walking around not potty trained. I give kids with developmental issues a pass.

I get the feeling toilet training isn't Boob and Michelle's "jurisdiction" and Jana is just too depressed to give a shit anymore (pun not intended). Jill's gone, Jinger could care less and we know Miss Princess ain't changing a pre-schooler's diapers.

  12. So now that Jill's escaped the compound who's stuck sharing a bed with un-potty trained Josie? My guess is Jinger or Joy.

I hope Jill's wedding doesn't make poor Jana even more depressed. Jill's now married to a man she's madly in love with and Jana's back to the never ending toil of unpaid childcare. Good times.

  13. I'm surprised people wore jeans given that it was a church wedding, but I remember people in jeans at Josh's, so maybe that's just how they roll.

    Derick's father's uniform= lovely tribute. Mullet's wedding dress= tacky, inappropriate, shameless narcissism.

  14. Ha ha, gossip sites are now calling North "Norphan." I read the ass-kissing interview where Kim talks about being a strict mom and balancing work and baby. The comments on Celebitchy are epic.

I also love how the Daily Fail generously photoshopped her into looking like she's 5'10" and a size 4 while she was wearing that hideous rope dress at the Cannes party.

  15. I hope so. The whole thing is just odd to me. I've always had the vibe that Jessa is cunning and clever when she needs to be. After all, she's managed to get out of cooking, cleaning and laundry for conveniently easier jobs like packing and "schooling." So why hitch her wagon to an immature boy who can't give her anything close to the life she's used to?

Does she really think Ben's windshield business will keep her in Uggs and self-tanner?

  16. I grew up in a New England Catholic family so most of the weddings I've been to feature the whole shebang: full Mass, ceremony, cocktail hour, crapton of booze, sitdown dinner. Personally I think it's much smarter to go with a scaled-down reception. Why pay thirty grand to feed a bunch of second cousins you haven't seen in ten years?

However I think if you go the light reception route your wedding registry should follow suit.

  17. Ben's views on abortion are typical for an uneducated kid who lives in la-la land and thinks prayer solves everything.

My in-laws have been involved in foster care for over 20 years. They've dealt with scores of unwanted, unloved, uncared for children. I'm by no means inferring those kids would have been better off not being born, I just think Ben and his ilk have this misguided fantasy that everything will be gravy once a woman chooses not to terminate.

And WTF is up with his obsession anyhow? My nephew is the same age and all he cares about is X Box and scoring a halfway decent fake I.D.

  18. I think all the J'Slaves need to hack a good eight inches off their hair; it always looks scraggly and dried out. They probably also use cheap alcohol-based products which doesn't help matters.

stillbored, I forgot all the J'Slaves were in Anna's wedding. I guess now they're obligated to include her in theirs.
