Spoilers & Speculation: Running Hot & Cold
lurker22 replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Legends Of Tomorrow
Nate should know how the original stories go, just like how he dressed like a leper in the Camelot 3000 episode. I want to see him shattering the Legends' (probably mostly Ray's) Disneyfied ideas of these stories, lol. -
Sara's role was to support Alex's storyline, so I wouldn't call it her own storyline (other than that one line about Sara finding someone who's more than a ONS). Switch Sara out with another character and the storyline remains the same. And Sara was around for other scenes mostly as a background character. Martin did have a big role, but that's because he's dying. I can't really remember what Mick did. IMO, in the crossovers, everyone is there just so the audience sees how many superheroes they can cramp in the same episode, but the focus largely remains on the big three.

Especially since OUAT is ending soon. I remember being excited in the first couple of OUAT seasons seeing real-live versions of the fairytale characters. And I hope Constantine is a consultant rather than joining the Legends. I wonder what he knows about characters from myths, fairytales and legends, since he's a demonologist. Do they require the same expertise? ETA: New poster for Legends? Again, Wally's not in it. https://twitter.com/TheCW_Legends/status/997177266177163264 -
Legends will probably be minor characters in the entire crossover while the Big Three are the main players, just like it's been for the last 2 crossovers. As a fan of LoT, it's pretty sad seeing how they're always left out of the promo materials.

"magical creatures from myths, fairytales, and legends." This actually sounds fun, at least, more fun than just demons. Legends taking on real legends. No mention of Wally and Alt/New Amaya. We know Maisie is still a series regular, but Keiynan was made a regular last season too, right? -

I'm starting to think Caity's appearance in the finale is just going to be 1 or 2 scenes. She's spent most of this week on a photoshoot and with her family, and I think Arrow wraps on the 25th. Doesn't seem like she has much to film. Maybe she'll just be in Oliver's flashback from Lian Yu, since he's "going back to basics". Or maybe she's going to be in Black Siren's flashback as her Earth-2 sister. Either way, I'm not expecting to see much of Sara on the finale. -

I liked how it was an almost exact callback to the S1 scene, where Mick said the Hawk people always made him think of chickens, and Sara looked at him funny, lol. -

So Ava had another change in attitude off-screen, from "there is no me to love" to "did you mean it when you said 'I love you'", complete with wearing her hair down despite knowing she was going to fight Mallus. And it happened in a Beebo episode again. Is Beebo behind the scenes pulling strings? Is Beebo playing secret matchmaker for Sara and Ava, lol? -

But can the clone carry a baby to term and give birth to it? Are Esi, Kuasa and Mari part clone then? I don't see real Amaya giving birth to Esi and then just leaving her with a clone. -

Looks like someone is definitely leaving the show in the finale. More here. -

I would like to see Gary stick around too. The minute he spoiled to Zari that they were on a time-traveling spaceship, I was like "That's very Legends of you, Gary!". I do agree with you that so far, Avalance is more about Sara than it is about Ava. And I did like seeing a different side to Sara, namely, what she's like in a relationship, because other than her time with Oliver, we've never seen that before. Although like @Sakura12 said, I found it too quick for the "I love you" after just 3 weeks of dating. I think I'm just afraid of the possibility that Sara's storylines next season will revolve around just this relationship (Darhk will presumably, hopefully, be gone, Laurel would probably just be mentioned in passing). That's why I hope Ava stays in the TB so she only pops up once every other episode (like I hope is the case with Constantine as well, TBH). I actually find Sara's bonds with the other Legends to be lacking for the past 3 seasons. The people we saw Sara bonding with, Kendra, Snart, Jax, even Rip, they're all gone now. We've only seen Sara in one-on-one scenes with Ray in 2 episodes, and a handful of scenes between her and Mick in 3 seasons. I don't think we got much between Sara and Nate/Amaya/Wally/Zari beyond the first episodes when they joined the Legends. I need the show to show, not tell, that she's bonding with the Legends. Show her playing video games with Zari, sparring with Amaya, giving big sisterly advice to Wally, etc. I fear that we'll only see Sara spend most of her one-on-one time with Ava and even less with the other Legends. -

I know what you're saying. I've enjoyed Season 2 more than Season 3, so I would hate for Season 4 to diminish my love for this show even more. -
Yeah, I would think Rip tweaks Ava's personality from one version to the next, learning from what caused the previous Avas to die, so that the new Ava lasts longer. And 'think Rip has a protocol where when one Ava dies, another one automatically gets activated.

http://comicbook.com/dc/2018/04/05/legends-of-tomorrow-ep-promises-seismic-upheavals-in-season-3-fi/ We already know Constantine and Ava are made regulars, and Wally has just joined the team. Is the team lineup going to change again? Are we losing more people, like Nate and Amaya? I'm nervous about the writers changing the conceit of the show. -

Yeah, so far all the news about Season 4 and Constantine isn't filling me with hope. I don't mind the supernatural element (I would love to see a crossover between Legends and Supernatural, ha!), but I'd much prefer the time traveling aspect. I want to see the hi-jinks the Legends get up to across history. Hopefully Constantine isn't going to become a Legend, but more of a consultant that the Legends occasionally go to for help. Then I would be OK with not changing Constantine. I don't think I can stand seeing Constantine undermine Sara's authority every week. TBH, I also hope Ava stay Director Sharpe and not join the Legends. I like Jes and I like Ava, but I don't want their relationship to be all Sara is about in Season 4. She's so much more than just one-half of a couple. I loved that Sara's storylines in Season 1, and especially Season 2, were all about her. They were there only to serve and develop her character. Already on Tumblr now the discussions largely revolve around Avalance and less about Sara herself. I only follow the "Sara Lance" tag, so I have started to see the difference compared to last seasons. Of course, I'm saying this as a Sara Lance fan, so I admit I'm a little biased in this aspect. -

It seems like we are getting all of this season's anachronisms in the finale, either fighting for or against Mallus. I wonder if we'll see Gumball (and maybe Mama!Dominator) fighting with the Legends. I want to see Captain Lance lead Beebo and Gumball into battle with her Braveheart speech. -

They are like the most fun cast on tv. My favorite parts were Keiynan as the damsel in distress, and Caity twirling the gun. -

I'm starting to think there are 3 types of totem bearers. 1) Those from a particular lineage, like Amaya, Kuasa and Zari 2) Those who learn to activate and wield it, like Nora and presumably Nate later 3) Those specifically born to be a bearer. I would put Sara and Mick in that category. Nora told Sara that she was born to wield the Death totem, and I think it's not just a recruitment line. What if all those times Sara died and came back, and how interconnected she is to death (of her own, of her loved ones, death she caused) is because she was born to be the Death totem bearer? Just like how fascinated Mick was with fire since young (though maybe he inherited that love of fire from his dad...). It's not because Sara and Mick know Death and Fire that make them suitable totem bearers, but it's because they are totem bearers that made them so familiar with Death and Fire. Though I'm wondering how Sara can wield the Death totem without becoming Death Witch again since she still has the power of Mallus in her. -

I agree with the examples given. Mick does take orders from Sara and respects her, but he's also used to taking orders from Snart. I think when he agrees with the orders and they came from someone he respects, he has no problem following them. Nate and Ray (and Jax/Stein, when they were around), were pretty much Team Captain Lance from the beginning. I think Sara's concern for Nate when he first joined (re: his hemophilia) was what created his sense of loyalty to Sara. There never was any major conflict between Rip and Sara when Sara became the Captain. Rip did fall back into the Captain role out of habit a few times, but he respected Sara's authority and there was no ego involved. He clearly saw that she was the better leader. And we're just past the stage where we have Amaya and Zari second guessing Sara's leadership, and I'd hate to start that all over again with Constantine. That said, I do think Constantine respects Sara, especially after seeing what she's capable of. I'm just not sure how much of a team player he is, and if he's arrogant enough to think he always knows better and simply thinks of Sara's orders as a "suggestion" that he can ignore if he wants to. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I do feel better that it's the Legends writers handling him, and so far they have done a pretty good job at portraying Sara as a Captain and her relationships with her team. Maybe Gideon will teach Constantine about respecting the Captain again, lol. -

I'm also having a hard time picturing Constantine a regular on Legends. I have enjoyed his scenes thus far, especially his scenes with Sara (I loved that he said she was worth it). But what is he going to do next season if it's presumably not going to be magic-themed? Would he be fine with putting on different costumes and not using magic as and when he wishes? Can he really take orders from Captain Lance or is he just going to do what he wants? The Legends have worked so well together that I would hate for him to break up this dynamic (though I'm sure the writers are all about shaking up the team, as they've said many times in interviews). I also have some of the worries that have already been stated here, that he is too big a character and could just overshadow everyone. I've seen the NBC show, and TBH, I was never into it. So I would hate for Legends to go the dark, occult direction because of Constantine, instead of staying the fun, light, sci-fi time traveling show. -

It would be cool if they borrowed ideas off The Machine. To upload Sara's personality and skills into Ava, he would need videos (or something) of Sara to work from, just like how training videos of the human scientist in Caity's movie were used as a blueprint for the robot Ava. Maybe that's why Rip didn't want Sara to find out about Ava, because that would expose how Ava was created. We know Gideon knows everything and probably records everything too, so maybe that's how Rip was able to create Ava using Sara's personality. And that's why Gideon has the file 354Z. -

It looks like the Android!Ava theory might be true after all. It could be clones of the Android!Ava lying under those sheets. Maybe the Ava in Epi 1 to 8 are one clone and the Ava in Ep 9 onwards are another. It would explain the quick change in personality. It's not bad writing, it's all part of a larger plan, lol! Now, did Rip create Ava with Gideon's help?
