Port Charles is near Buffalo, because everyone has a 716 area code (Rochester is 585.) Most likely Nelle washed up in the Alleghany.

Interesting! Strange thing is, if Nelle is really dead, I actually feel a bit sad for the character. She reminds me of one of those people that in real life never really had a chance. 😞

She fell in the area outside Sonny's cabin. Which is apparently both a convenient distance from Port Charles, which is close to Canada (sometimes), and yet on the border of PA.

Theoretically it is possible. Spoke with a relative yesterday who lives in PA and she noted that it touches six different states, and in a weird way Canada too. So I looked it up in the World Atlas:  The state of Pennsylvania is bordered by six states: West Virginia, Delaware, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, and Maryland. Pennsylvania is also bordered by Lake Erie and the Canadian province of Ontario.

Kinda strange when the GH writers actually get something mostly right, eh?

Where is Faison dressed as Beetlejuice when you need him!?

One of funniest lines I've ever heard on GH is when Faison said "Beetlejuice wasn't evil, he was just mis-understood." Not sure why but it cracked me up. 😁

Now more than ever, people are looking for comfort TV and this show isn’t providing that.

ITA. I am personally spending less and less time watching CNN because the news has become unbearable. We need some relief, which I think TIIC are trying to provide with the Robert/Olivia/Nathan espionage S/L.

But yeah, they've turned Cyrus into this meandering Creepy Stalker who just likes to talk, talk, talk. Well, except when he told his goons to beat up Brando.

Cyrus does talk an awful lot, doesn't he? Makes me wonder if the actor's contract has him getting paid by the spoken word.

I really loved the interplay between Valentin and Martin, there were a lot of asides that seemed off the cuff and it looks like JPS and MEK were having a superb time playing off each other.

Isn't great to watch two actors skilled at their craft? I too picked up a bit of improvisation between the two, and it did seem like they both enjoyed having someone "live" to play against.

I'm so tired of the 'Mike is dying' story. Surely MB must have enough on his Emmy reel by now.

I'm relived for both the actor and the character that the Michael Cortinthos Sr. "Never Can Say Goodbye" tour is finally coming to an end. Friday I thought about the old gangster movie "The Roaring Twenties" with Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney. Bogie's character shoots Cagney, who then proceeds to walk several blocks and do a little dance up and down some courthouse steps before finally dying. That death scene must have taken damn near 10 minutes. 🙂

They're doing a TERRIBLE job of painting Cyrus as the new Big Bad. I'm so tired of him popping up everywhere and making vague, obtuse threats.

I second that emotion. But he only underscores what ineffectual gummy-bear mobsters St. Jaysus and the Moobster truly are.  Cyrus meanders all around town, sans bodyguard most of the time, almost begging to be taken out. Any true rival would have iced him by now. Ultimately Taggert had the right idea, but for S/L reasons he let Jordan (who doesn't seem to have two brain cells to rub together) talk him out of it. If we've got to have the mob, there should be an Anthony Zacchara type that instills some real sense of menace.

Jax is stupid. These characters are 100% tainted.

I know, right? Jax is spending so much time around the Corinthi that his IQ seems to have dropped by 100 points. Even Carly realizes that their attempts at cover-ups have never worked out.

Has anyone seen the new Dick's Sporting Goods ad about back-to-school clothes?  It shows two pre-teens, one male and one female, modeling the clothes and looking around the store.  The girl gets off a line that had me rolling my eyes so hard I thought they'd fall right out on the floor.  I'm paraphrasing a bit, but as she looks at the shoes available in the store, she says "like, if I see someone with a great shoe game, I'm like I really want to know that person."

Wow.  I don't know if this was scripted or not, but my, isn't that just the most inspiring statement (NOT) in this day and age of major, pandemic-fueled issues regarding people losing their jobs and possibly their homes,  schools being able to provide proper education access, everyone struggling to stay healthy and sane and alive.   People are important to know if they have a good "shoe game"??  JFC.  And who the eff cares what kind of shoes someone's wearing (if they're wearing any at all) when doing online school?

If the girt came up with the line on her own, all I can say is SHAME ON YOU to her parents, who have NOT instilled good values in her.  If it was scripted, then DSG can go to hell.  You are not getting my business with ad content like this - it's deeply offensive.

To be fair it's Dick's Sporting Goods. I seriously doubt if anyone who would approve such ridiculous bullshit has any idea how young girls speak.

I was underwhelmed by the song, but knowing that it was written by WL impresses me. He definitely has room to grow.

Agreed. At the beginning of the song he sounded a little bit like a young John Mayer. He might outgrow soaps much in the same way that Rick Springfield and Jack Wagner did. Springfield in particular was always very serious about his music.

I'm really glad LH told TPTP she wasn't going to end up in her underwear anymore. That "joke" was very stale after year 2 of it.

Bravo for her. I remember that when Tina Turner retired, a reporter asked her "why?" And Tina's response was "when you get to be a certain age, some things aren't dignified anymore." True about so many things in life.

It was her throat.  And the amount of time she was lying there before someone found, loss of blood would have killed her in real life.

That was my first thought too - that BL had clearly bled out. Adding how difficult it was for Mikey to wake Monica I was really scared this damn show was going to kill off another two Qs. I still don't think BL is going to make it though. And I hope Jules finally mans-up and takes out Janelle.

I have to say, using the Nurses' Ball as a telethon for frontline workers is a pretty cool way of acknowledging the current pandemic while still keeping the characters in a COVID-free bubble. It's a nice way to show support and compassion for current events without going to the extreme of making the characters wear masks or worry over sickness.

Wow, can't believe I actually enjoyed an episode of GH for the first time in ages. Props to TPTB (not gonna call them TIIC for a change) for a nice shout-out to frontline workers without having to mention Covid-19.

Today's episode had a nice 80s/90s vibe to it; crisp, well-written and for the most part well-acted. Don't want to get my hopes up, but maybe this is a harbinger of things to come....

Anyone who is a soap watcher vet, had to KNOW there was NO WAY Taggert died. Especially since it happened off screen!

Yeah, pretty much all of us saw that coming. Hopefully he'll be the stealth bomber that takes down Sir Cyrus of Loitering.

I think what bothers me as I watch the lack of social distancing is that it actually pulls me out of the show.

I've accepted it as part of the New Normal. Every night I watch the Yankees play and it seems like more than half the team is totally unaware that there's a raging, global pandemic going on. No masks, constant spitting (!) and standing on top of each other, mask-less. Aaargh.

I will always be jealous of LW's hair. She looks good with a ponytail.

I'd absolutely forgotten this, but Laura Wright is a very pretty woman when her character smiles and laughs sincerely. Too bad it doesn't happen often enough.

LoL at Spin thinking they can use Nelle's testimony as evidence. It is hearsay. Is Nelle's plan to kidnap Wiley or will she agree to only cooperate with Scorpio if he helps her get custody?

At the end of today's episode, you could almost hear Robert's brain figuring out how to use this new information.

I really don’t think tempSam is anything to look at. 🤷‍♀️

I really wasn't paying attention in her early scenes - you're totally correct.  What's up with casting GH? Between Temp!Sam and Temp!BL, all the women being casted recently look so...hard.  Please take pity on us shallow guys that basically tune-in just for the pretty ladies. 🙂 Jaysus knows there's not much story to enjoy. 🙂

In other news, hey Loo Loo, Girl Reporter - that conversation with Dustin couldn't wait until after you left Spoon Island? Wtf???

Someone mentioned a couple of pages back that GH normally does a good job with recasting, but Teschner really dropped the ball with both TempSam and Nu- and TempBrook.

That would have been me. Those two recasts have been, um, interesting. Hadn't seen Lyndsay before, but she's not exactly easy on the eyes and her acting makes KMo look like Meryl Streep. TempBL is more attractive than her recent predecessors, but I've seen better acting in middle school plays.

Anyhoo...the TempBrooke Lynn and TempSam casting is pretty damn bad. And casting used to be one of the few things GH did consistently well.

  15. There's a regional commercial in the New York-Tri State Area that I love. It's for some kind of family-owned landscaping company - Cambridge something. The patriarch holds a family cookout (that doubles as a Board meeting) for his two sons and grand kids - and every single one looks exactly like him. Even the grand-daughters. Damnedest thing I ever saw. That guy's got some really strong genes.

Thanks team!  I have a weird feeling KMo is using the pandemic as an escape hatch from GH. There's probably still a lot of opportunities out there for her. For some reason I see her doing well on the CW Network. But I'm really not feeling TempSam, though.

Nope. Sam went from Mooby to Jaysus; then to Lucky after Liz went to Jaysus when she discovered Lucky cheating on her with Maxie, and Jaysu saw Sam boinking Ric.  Then stuff happened and Sam and Jaysus got back together.

Sam was never with Jax? Pretty sure I remember her hooking up with him.

  19. 7 hours ago, statsgirl said:

I hope Kelly Monaco can find another job. Sam is such a spineless needy person, it must be soul-sucking to have to play that for the past 3 years.

With too much time on my hand the other day, I found myself thinking what an interesting character Sam was a zillion years ago (Dead Man's Hand S/L). Con artist and grifter, savvy enough to beat Luke at a grand scam. Then she got gently passed around, from to Jax, to Sonny, to Lucky (IIRC) and then to St. Jaysus, where she became the perpetual Damsel-in-Distress. Not even making her Alexis' daughter could salvage the character. This soap does come up with great characters from time-to-time, it just can't figure out what to do with them.

I should have been more clear. As I think as @TeeVee329 stated up thread, the show is probably keeping those actors in Leslie Charles’ age range to a minimum because they are more at risk.

As for the others like Liz, Finn, and Portia? Yes. It’s a soap about a hospital and I had no problem with them being their. Since they’re back to filming, I can’t see the point of just showing one to two actors per scene when the setting is in the hospital.

If I sit here and rant at how this many people shouldn’t be together or that close, etc., then I shouldn’t bother to watch. For better or worse, they’re going to do this.

Before this topic gets shut down, just wanted to add that I watched yesterday's episode very closely. As another poster stated, they are clearly making use of green screen now, so some characters may not be as close as they appear. It's an approach that makes sense because they will have to use some of the vets (like JZ and LC) at some point in the future. And let's face it, spry as they are Tristan and Finola are no spring chickens either. 🙂

I would not be surprised if it was the WSB torturing Dante. I’ve never had the faith in them other fans have, since they did employ the likes of Sean Donnelly (TRAITOR!) and never knew Anna was a double agent for some time. And then they decided to eliminate Robert for no good reason.

Sean was so cool, even though you could never be sure who's side he was on. 🙂 Had great chemistry with Monica when they had their affair. Have we seen Frisco since he became WSB Director. IIRC, the last time he was on-screen is a few years ago, tormenting Britt.
