  1. I thought that was the dishwasher!

If our heroine is going to make the greatest curving jump of all time, then it's cheating not to show it, even if you have to use CGI.

Ugh, that reminds me of my roofer peeve when I was getting estimates (several years ago).  I was doing the responsible consumer thing and getting estimates from a few places.  They would come out, talk about what I was looking for,  measure things, run the numbers, and get back to me with a proposal.  Except one company - they came out, talked about what I was looking for, measured things, went off to run the numbers, then called and asked "so when can you and your husband be available for us to give you the estimate?"  Gah!!!  I just want to gather the estimates before I drag him into the process; he had other things to do!  Do you know how much of my time you've wasted?

    It's the upside to divorce!

If you got 30+ yrs out of a shingle roof, you're ahead of the game already. I know it sucks, had to do it in 2019 (23 yrs), and I'm still po'd about it, lol.

I know, but it still is a massive outlay.  Plus the roofers are really busy and probably can't even start until August.

  4. Climate change describes any changes that might be occurring.  Weather is not climate; climate is long term weather.  Global warming is the type of climate change that the Earth is experiencing most recently.

Peeve - the wind storms we had last winter blew the hell out of my 30+ year old roof so now I have to shell out the big bucks for that.  I'm still picking up shingles.

I had heard about this show but never bothered to watch it until James Marsden was a guest on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. He talked a little about the show and said he stayed in touch with Ronald for a couple of months after the show ended just to make sure he was OK.

I really thought the whole thing was great but the producers totally lucked out finding such an amiable guy. I totally buy the premise, this guy is just too earnest to be fake. We've become so cynical about "reality" TV we think they're all fake now but I think it's possible to pull off something this clever in a limited format.

Me too on the Wait Wait Don't Tell Me!  Thought that was great of Marsden.

I don't think they lucked out - just conducted enough auditions until they found a good fit.

I can't believe that no one recognized Kirk Fox - he's been in tons of things:  Parks and Rec, Reservation Dogs, etc.  And the judge was played by Ike Barinholtz's father.

That segment was awesome. I wish the show would focus more on stuff like that and less on boat romances between crew members. The scenery was truly breathtaking. And does this show have a dedicated helicopter for all those overhead shots? I wouldn't have thought Bravo had that kind of budget.

    .......

Who the hell would want to eat sushi off of Gary's nasty body? Even Mads wouldn't, and she had sex with him. I think ultimately the show grossly over-estimated our investment in Gary. It's time for him to go too.

I'm sure Production has a drone with cameras just for this type of situation.

Loved the exchange between Alex and Glenn while Gary was laid out with the sushi:

"Does it whet your appetite for sushi?"

    "Never again!"

I still think Lee has the edge. I made a careful note of who had spouses and kids back home because those are the ones who eventually wind up using them as an excuse to tap out. They start off saying "I'm doing this for my family!" then when the going gets rough they start crying about how their family needs them to come back home. Lee has grown kids and grandkids, and thus far hasn't mentioned a wife.

I'm liking watching Lee and hope he makes it far.  In addition to what you mentioned, he has a real reason to want the prize money.  He's the only pilot to serve his village and wants to get a new plane.  That takes money.

Gabri and German Tom's embrace as they convened to cook was precious. My favorite part of the whole show.

You could tell how close they'd gotten.

I also loved the little Tom greeting chorus that's been going on for a while - whenever Chef Tom and Judge Tom meet, they acknowledge each other with "Tom"

Luxury items do better when they don't use the 99. Samsung phones sell better when they are $799, but iPhones sell better at $800.

Having just bought a new iPhone, they are pricing them with the 99.  As well as charging excessive amounts for the accessories.

  10. I made it through about 3 episodes of Succession before bailing.  The family didn't seem like a real family and there was no one intriguing.  I've seen and enjoyed plenty of anti-hero shows, but someone has to create a character with some facets that make you want to watch them.

Don't understand why Gene's manager and Sally are letting Gene take the fall, especially after Sally asked Barry to turn himself in to keep Gene from going to prison (right after the shoot-out, before she took off with John). And she had already told John that Barry was a murderer.

This last season went a bit astray for me, but in general I will check out anything Bill Hader does in the future, as he has shown he is original, funny and creative.

But now Gene has shot Barry in cold blood in front of a witness.  Even if he beats the Janice murder charges, he's going to jail for murdering Barry.  And then of course, if he killed one person, why is it inconceivable that he killed a second one?  Gene screwed himself.

I really  enjoyed the scenes between Jeff and Callie.  Both characters went from "Who is this asshole" to "If they die we riot."

    I know!

I want to know how Walter managed to find heliotrope clothing so quickly.  He totally blended in with the rest of the cult.

When Travis is outside the cabin and the girls are bringing in Javi's body, isn't there another girl standing behind him?  She's wearing a knit cap.  It can't be Lotte.  So someone else declined to go on the wild hunt.  Who?

    • With Sally I feel like they dropped the ball. The broad strokes are fine: get John away from Barry and accept non-fame but never really be happy. But did the hallucinations ever go away? Did she ever recognize that she's the one who put John in danger by going to LA?

I thought that Sally's breakdown where she told John she had been a bad mother was the point where she turned things around.  She did realize that she put John into danger.  After that she had the presence of mind to leave Barry in the middle of the night and take John with her.  She rescued herself and her child.  Before that she relied on Barry to take care of her.
