Cool ranch Doritos (because they have three sides) and Margaritas or zero sugar 7-Up to celebrate the new year!

The Santa/helpers/caroler show repeated this week. I hadn't watched it previously. I too had never seen a chain completed, that was pretty amazing! I liked them all, and was happy with the outcome.

I am so sad to hear about Saber. She and I shared our love of dogs. I'm sure she enjoyed being greeted by her beloved animals at the Rainbow Bridge. She had a kind soul.

2023 Call the Midwife Holiday Special to air on December 25, 2023.
The Holiday Special begins two weeks before Christmas with Apollo 8 poised to circle the moon. Sister Monica Joan (Judy Parfitt) is convinced this could be her last Yuletide and decides she’ll not live to see man walk on the moon. The Nonnatus Family, including Trixie’s (Helen George) brother Geoffrey (Christopher Harper), decide something must be done to try and lighten her state of mind. Nancy (Megan Cusack) has recommitted to staying at Nonnatus House and Sister Julienne (Jenny Agutter) has offered her and Colette (Francesca Fullilove) a room for the foreseeable future.
Trixie and Matthew (Olly Rix), fresh from their honeymoon, are preparing their first Christmas together as husband and wife when Geoffrey pays them an unexpected visit days before Christmas. Cyril (Zephryn Taitte) gently intervenes when he discovers a lost soul living alone in a dilapidated basement flat. For this man, Christmas is a reminder of all he’s lost and all he’s never had. Nurse Crane (Linda Bassett), away on her refresher course, makes it home in time for Christmas festivities despite a treacherously heavy snowfall.

It's an (almost) Christmas miracle!
Sea salt caramel popcorn for all!

Did they mention Julie at all?
Yes, Natalie mentioned that she lived a short distance (10 miles or 10 minutes?) from her.

I thought Natalie still looked blond-ish, but I didn't see the stills referenced.
I enjoyed the movie a lot. Until Adrian figured it out, I thought a lengthier bungee cord had been substituted, not that Gabriel's measuring tape had been switched out. It was fun figuring out some of the actors not from the original, like Richard Kind as the undertakers. And great to see so many of the actors from the original as well.
Loved the ending, with so many of the cases Monk had solved expressing their gratitude to him, and a reminder of the deep freeze cases that still needed solving.

Yeah, I read it was mostly Botox. We saw him a few years back in concert, and his face wasn't like that nearly as much.

I loved Braugher in Homicide, Brooklyn 99, and Men of a Certain Age. And only 61! So sad. 😢

Special on NBC Monday night Dec. 11.
A collection of Barry Manilow's holiday songs and hits with musicians and singers back up, it was fun and entertaining for Barry fans.

I watched this one because I like Kyra and Mo. I had no idea who Amanda was, but she was pretty impressive, and I'll look up to see what else she's been in.
I kept wanting a stylist to come trim Kyra's bangs. Mo's hair is pretty wild, but it didn't bother me like Kyra's. Amanda looked really good
If Mo continues to do well, he could win it all.

I loved watching the Riverdance challenge. At Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, VA there's a show that features Irish step dancing that is so fun to watch! I got to see a touring Riverdance troupe a long time ago. Exciting to watch the current dancers, and see the instructors; they were patient and kind.

Below is a video of Martha Howe Douglas (as Fanny Button) reading a letter that Fanny wrote to White Star Line demanding a refund for her Titanic tickets.
I love this. It's hilarious!

My mom used to get root beer freezes at Dairy Queen. Root beer and their soft serve mixed in the shake machine. They are yummy!

I had already watched this version, but it's just as delightful - maybe more so - on second and subsequent watchings. I also enjoy the US version. I couldn't possibly choose a favorite!

Not sure of the timeline. Could Magnus’ involvement in the death/disappearance help explain Annika’s parents abrupt return when Annika was 16?

I just finished Series 6, Ep. 6, Where Humphrey decides to stay in London to be with Martha. I think this transition was handled much better than Richard to Humphrey, not the least because Humphrey wasn't killed off.
I enjoyed the Commissioner overseeing JP. JP was so nervous but did well, and I was delighted he got a good evaluation.

I felt for Saul/Jacob trying to find his sister. All's well that ends well, I suppose. I just love Kumo. She has a lot of heart.
Loved the reference to Magnum's mustache - who could forget Selleck's in OG Magnum PI?

"From previous weeks: "After 3 for week one, I've been very consistent with 2 per week. Hope I can improve!* I didn't improve, in fact I went down. :-(""
I did improve this week. My best week this season! Not sure how that happened, but I'll take it!

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's my favourite since I pretty much despise most ads, but there's one airing right now with three older ladies sledging and remembering their childhoods, with the flat Beatles cover music, that's kinda sweet. It's for Amazon so there's that too, even though I do use them and feel bad about it.
Ah, the existential angst advertising can cause.

I love it too, but I have to wonder how they get up out of their sleds at the bottom. I'd probably need EMS to get me out and on my feet!

Hallmark Mysteries: Mysterious Small Town Hijinks Ensue - General Discussion
in Hallmark Mysteries: Mysterious Small Town Hijinks Ensue
I watched the beginning of this movie (Grilling Season). I've read all the books, but didn't see the first movie. Things that bugged:
1. Marla looks nothing like she's described in the books.
2 Goldy had a son, not a daughter.
3. Goldy and ex had a contentious relationship, and she protected her son from her ex as best she could.
4. Goldy's last name was changed.
I plan to go back to watch the movies in order, starting with the first one. I just have to remind myself that the books and movies aren't the same, and just go with the flow!
