  1. Janelle strikes me as a Benzo addict. She's so spaced out and indifferent 90% of the time. And the other 10% of the time she's having an anxiety attack.
  2. How many siblings does he have? And have any of them left the LDS/FLDS/AUB?
  3. I wonder if she and/or Caleb are re-evaluating their "no social safety net" politics now that they have a child who has serious, lifelong physical disabilities.
  4. They knew. And bought anyway…
  5. He legitimately seems more and more mentally ill the longer this circus goes on. When the show began, I just thought he was an idiot and a misogynist and an egomaniac. But he increasingly now seems to have a tenuous relationship with reality and is overtly abusive. His neglect of his children and wives has always bothered me, but I'm starting to think it's really in everyone's best interest to have limited, if any, contact with him. He really needs to see a shrink.
  6. I find it strange that Christine seems so warm and likable on the show, but that everyone who mentions having bumped into her in real life describes her as ice cold and glaring.
  7. I've thought the show has been hinting for a while that Dex may have had a baby that she put up for adoption, likely with the dead ex, and this episode seemed to me to be strongly hinting at that again.
  8. I think she is responsible for "Sam" picking Meri as a mark. Kendra was in on it and Kendra was Robyn's bff, at the time. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Robyn's life story ends with her in prison.
  9. Which, also, help explain why she needed to get rid of the P.I. who was always around. But I think her dad was in prison with Grey or somehow related to someone from his criminal life who either thinks he's still sitting on money from a heist or whom he feels did him wrong.
  10. Oh, dear…The adjective 'few' modifies singular nouns such as 'angel' or 'idiot'. 'Less' is only properly used to modify plural nouns like 'angels' or 'morons' or 'vegetables'. Mizer & Moore and every teacher who failed to teach them their own first language should be ashamed. It's a race to the bottom.
  11. The ending felt quite theatrical to me -- and I don't mean that in a negative sense, but that it literally felt like ending or act break of a play, moreso than that of a (mini) series or film. It was a very strong, unanswerable beat to land upon and TV, in particular, even when it's interesting TV, rarely closes with such discordant notes.
  12. Was I hallucinating, or has it not been repeatedly established that Dex & Ben dated in high school? I thought this episode filled in some of their timeline gaps. I thought it was great that she ended up in the sack with Liz. Of course, she would. Grey should’ve known better. The plots, in general, are still feeling really poorly written and smashed together. I know it’s network tv, but I’ve seen better writing on soap operas. They really need to either eliminate Miles, recast him or give him *something anything* to make him interesting on screen. The actor has anti-charisma and I find myself looking anywhere he isn’t in the frame. And the inclusion of Ansel still feels much less than organic to the story. In reality, I do not see someone like Dex having managed to get and maintain guardianship and, in reality, most adults with Down Syndrome are not happy go lucky, highly functional, easily able to socialize with strangers, etc. etc. etc. I don’t understand the point of including him only to paint an idealized and patronizing caricature of someone with the condition.
  13. I thought the chemistry between Dex and Fiona was, actually, surprisingly strong. Although, the idea that former military would be welcomed at all in actual crust punk or even Fiona's glam-pop-punk circles defied belief. Who was taking care of Axel while she was overseas? Also, I really, really wish they stop having people, especially Dex, patronize him with 'buddy'. It's become the new 'My pops!' (see: How To Get Away With Murder) for me. I find Grey just as dull as Hoffman, but painful to look at and really wish they'd conceived more complex and realistic supporting characters as anchors to the narrative. Watching those people eat dinner together sounds like a real bore. I'm entirely unfamiliar with the comic upon which this show is supposedly based, but it's hard to imagine anyone would have had enough interest in it to option, develop and bring it to series if it's as watered down as this show is, for the most part. Hardly a rough edge in sight for a series that's premised upon a barely functional alcoholic trying to be a P.I. and which has a bar as its primary location. With tonight's episode, I think it would have been more interesting for the long game, if Dex had sat there and done rails with Fiona and genuinely contemplated running off, leaving Axel in Grey's hands. If she, ostensibly, already has her shit together, what's the narrative arc?
