  1. Plus, the the card he left for Giles, Ethat references The Prisoner. Any show that does that is alright in my book.
  2. There were supposedly ideas for a Faith spin-off, but Dushku instead went with Tru Calling. And there was talk of a Ripper series with ASH for the BBC. That might have run into the problems mentioned by Willowy.
  3. My Top 10 most hated characters are Andrew. In two years, he said one mildly funny thing, and that was his Timothy Dalton as best Bond line. Otherwise, he thought date rape and getting away with the murder of Katrina was cool. He was ready to abandon one of his only two friends and later on killed that same friend. He pulled a sword on Xander, who was making the grievous error of trying to save his worthless existence. Each time he was on screen was a painful experience. And, he was given an entire episode just to torture me (thanks Jane!), which ranks as by far the worst episode of the series.
  4. Wow. So much happened in this episode and I can't wait for the season finale. A lot of points have been brought up here, but this one caused me to re-think what I had watched: Given Helena's affinity for kids, well, at least with Kira and now the little tongue-sticking-out girl, I was pretty sure she would have gotten the kids out before the fire started or got near their bunks/school. When I saw the previews with Helena and the pipe, I also thought it was going to be Helena making what, in her mind, was a joke. But, now I think there was a different motive behind it. She was inseminated by the Big Love Ranch Prolethean Scientist Father. He smoked a pipe. So, when she was going to inseminate him, she put his pipe in her mouth. The roles were reversed. She was now the father. I didn't like Mrs. S in pigtails. It looked all sorts of wrong. I loved the Alison-Donnie show. And, it's funny how Alison used the knowledge she got from the play to dispose of Leekie's body. I was wondering whether we were going to see a clone-impersonating-a-clone scene. But, I was surprised when Rachel took over for Sarah. She really is bat-shit crazy. And, it seems that she has absolutely no intention to give up Kira. She told her that she might even come to love living in her new surroundings. Finally, because it pretty much has to be said in every post, TM is just phenomenal and really deserves every acting award that exists. Which includes the Oscar and Tony in addition to the Emmy for her job on this show.
  5. 1 hour 54 minutes to the start of S2 E9 of OB.
  6. Major new (old) career vibes to you, Erratic.
  7. Congratulations Harvester! That's fantastic news. We always knew you were awesome; it's good to hear that your new employer recognized that as well. Abso-freakin'-lutely. I mean, sufferin' succotash, I'd forgotten how often that word was used in Bugs Bunny cartoons.
  8. I see The Apology as having a brilliant "A" story (although the dates don't make sense since Dan was interviewed some time prior to the magazine coming out), no "B" story, and Jeremy's "C" story as pure comic relief. The look on everyone's face as Dan sits at the desk and we all wonder what is he going to say. And then he comes out with such a heartfelt, gut-wrenching story. I get a lump in my throat just thinking about it.
  9. This was recently shown on FXX when I happened to be home. What I really liked was how the gang, and especially Casey, understood why Jeremy needed to do this story. Even though yachting would get absolutely zero time on a Sports Center-type show unless it involved the America's Cup (and it took me a few minutes to even recall the name of the race), and that for a one minute recap. Still, this was a case of Sorkin's writing and story allowing me to set aside the implausibility and enjoy what I was watching. The Rececca - Dan story does not work as well. First, Dan comes off as quite the stalker as Rebecca has rejected him countless times, yet he still goes down to her office and makes friends with her co-workers. As for his not wanting to know about how Orlando Rojas pitched, well, in spring training (unless it's the last start before the season begins), he probably pitched two or three innings, and possibly against a number of minor leaguers. So, he could have picked up the feed from somewhere and just watched the guy pitch. Which is my long-winded way of saying that this story was not good enough for me to set aside its implausibility.
  10. Happy Birthday, Erratic! And, payback's a bitch. Much like you pummeled me on my b-day Mets quiz, I have done the same on your Douglas Adams one. So, next year, we need to decide whether to put our competitive juices aside, or, instead, BRING IT ON!!!! Vibes to all the sickies out there. And, thanks for the support regarding my mom. She has woken up yesterday and today to take her pill, and after only a few calls from my brother. It's amazing what can pass for good and exciting news.
  11. I know not to what that picture could possibly refer. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Besides, I already owe cko and her sister libations as a result of the "friendly" wager I was coerced into agreeing. Although, to be fair to them, I did spit on my hand before the (virtual) shaking to seal the bet.
  12. That'd learn the thief. Endeavor, no brunch was had. She didn't answer the phone until around 7 PM. My brother and I have to put our heads together (which, ow) and figure out what our next move(s) should be.
  13. Doc Duncan might have the roadmap to save Cosima, but Kira might be needed to provide the vehicles for the trip.
  14. I was also put off by Tony in the first scene. The hair and what sounded like a little of Sarah's accent and tonal mannerisms coming through. But, as I didn't know the show was going with a transgender clone, once I saw that was where they were going, I was able to forget it was TM playing a man. I agree with SystemRemote that JG's acting really brought that out. The kissing scene did squick me out, although not so bad enough that I had to look through splayed fingers. Donnie and Alison were hysterical. Yes, they're over-the-top, but at least we are seeing Alison beginning to truly deal with Ainsley's death while retaining her Alison-ness. (Alisonosity?) As for Rachel's freak-out, I go back and forth. I still think it happened after she learned that the clones were designed to be barren, but, I could also see it as her visualizing freaking out because she is so emotionally controlled. She imagines herself doing something that she would never allow herself to actually do.
  15. Superflyse would be best to ask since she lived there for a while. It's a shame you won't be there during the summer as you could have gone to see a Blue Jays game. There is the CN Tower if you're not afraid of heights. I really haven't spent time in Toronto, so that's about the extent of my tourist knowledge.
  16. KPC, in the end, it would have been better if I watched OB live. But, I did watch it. At the very beginning, I was a little disappointed, but, once the show let me know where it was going, I was floored as usual by Tatiana Malany's acting. Endeavor, I feel your pain. My mom is on the dementia scale and has been sleeping the entire day this whole week. She hasn't been answering the phone until 6 or 7 PM. My brother and I went over on Monday to check to make sure all was OK. She tells me that she will "try harder" to answer the phone. Which gets me gritting my teeth since the phone is next to her bed and she is physically capable of lifting the receiver. I keep telling her that there is no trying, only doing. Yes, I've become Yoda when dealing with her. Yesterday, we were supposed to go to our weekly brunch date (when I also go through her mail and pick up her bills), but she forgot about it and didn't get up until 6. I'm going to try again today. We'll see what happens. Wow, sorry for turning your mom's fall to all about me. I hope you're feeling better, KPC. If you're not feeling up to coming to my softball game tomorrow night, I release you from your obligation. Fuck Alzheimer's, dementia, and MS.
  17. For all, but especially trudi-tru (thanks for the shoutout!): 2 hours, 13 minutes until the next episode of Orphan Black.
  18. Or, he might have sociopathic tendencies (or actually be a sociopath). So, he was able to kill his family, then go swimming like nothing happened. When he returns to the room, he is able to (over)act with horror at the tableau in front of him.
  19. I'm glad your mom wasn't hurt in the fall, Endeavor. And pain-free vibes to AnnieF. I admit that I have no interest in the Belmont Stakes. I remember the last two Triple Crown winners (although I was too young to really know about Secretariat when that horse won in '73). Instead, I'll be watching the Rangers play tonight. Big game. Crucial game. Which means I'll be DVR'ing Orphan Black. But, have no fear, despite Erratic's comment, I do plan on giving an OB countdown for those jonesing to watch live.
  20. Cosima is in the same place as Sarah, Alison, Rachel, and Helena. DYAD is located in Anywhere, North America, which looks an awful lot like Toronto. We've never seen Sarah in NYC. In the first episode of the series, we hear the station announcer say when the next train to NYC will be leaving.
  21. My condolences on your loss buffyjunkie. Whether Toronto or Chicago, it will still depend on how work looks. If I can make it, I will. It was a real blast last year in Rice-a-Roni land. My question for you, Barphe, is, if nobody else got ill, and you like you FiL, then who was the poisoned meal meant for?
  22. I don't think it's unusual for the monitors to not know their subjects are clones. Paul didn't know the entire time he was with Beth. Now, the nightime invasive medical probing is a different question. I can't imagine not realizing that was going on if you live with a subject of the experiment. I said it before, I've loved Michelle Forbes since she was Ro on ST:TNG. I remember her on Homicide (where they really didn't know what to do with the character), Admiral Cain on BSG, the victim's mother on The Killing. While Iididn't like the show, she was very good in a part that is so different from the strong women she often plays. I also saw her as the Maenad. I've also seen a few interviews with her, and she provides very thoughtful answers to the questions asked (even some of the more ridiculous ones). I'm excited to see where her character goes. And, since it can never be said enough, TM is simply amazing.
  23. I've got to head back there. I've applied for passport renewal, so I might be able to make Toronto (assuming I get the passport in time and work permits). Earl is Dead, I'm sorry to hear about the job uncertaintiness and general suckiness caused by the Senior Partners. If they ask you to push an elevator button that magically appears - don't do it. Hopefully things will work out for you.
