S04.E07: Who's Crying Now

He sure does! I saw him at a Whole Foods here in Los Angeles a few years ago. His flowing locks were quite impressive. -
Heck, she may not have been writing to Frankie directly. Even writing to his cellmate could have garnered enough info about Frankie (since what Courtney seemed to know was pretty basic). What annoyed me is that when Frank supposedly joined them during the last scene, why didn't Nev and Max have Courtney ask him additional information to "prove" Courtney was really talking to him. Like his Social Security number, etc.

It didn't, but you can watch it here: http://www.mtv.com/video-clips/ukk8of/catfish-the-tv-show-beyond-the-catfish-kayla-and-courtney There's also this gem about afterlife custody: http://www.mtv.com/video-clips/edqvfc/catfish-the-tv-show-beyond-the-catfish-afterlife-joint-custody-of-kayla This whole episode felt off to me. I didn't trust Courtney at all. So now I'm wondering if just Courtney is behind the fraud, the entire family made this up to be on TV, of whether Catfish is entirely scripted.

It must vary depending on the location. http://www.outback.com/?gclid=CLbJ1NX6ksICFYPtMgodZVoA_w

Looks like there aren't very many "participating" Outbacks! Only 24, if the Outback site is accurate. Given that there are around 1100 Outback Steakhouse locations in United States, 24 is pretty pathetic.

This episode was pretty disturbing. I definitely thought something was off about the janitor (and his wife), and their complete inability to get their respective stories straight certainly didn't help, but I don't think there was nearly enough evidence to find him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Sure, I think he could have done it (and I very much doubt that it went down like the prosecution surmised), but if Dateline truly presented us the most compelling evidence proffered at trial, I think there was a miscarriage of justice. I, too, was on a jury. It wasn't a murder case, but it was a very serious criminal case. All of the jurors took their roles extremely seriously, and even though we were split 6-6 upon entering the deliberation room, we did finally return a not guilty verdict after carefully debating the evidence. I actually thought the guy on trial was *probably* guilty, and I think nearly all of us felt that way, but there simply wasn't enough evidence. Assuming Dateline did a decent job on this story, I totally would have been that holdout juror!

I would love to Can you send to me too? Thanks. :)

That was a really interesting episode and it's perhaps the only Dateline I've watched where I don't really have a firm idea of what happened. I do believe the friend was involved somehow. Her very vivid description of how Nancy was killed, the bizarre phone call to 911, the "Nancy will be sleeping off jet lag for 3 days" comment, and her very weird reaction to Keith's question of why she felt guilty really sealed the deal for me. Yes, I think you could argue that her "I feel guilty" comment was survivor's guilt, but she reacted like she'd been caught in a lie. Plus the fact that she took money and jewelry from the safe deposit box is very sketchy. Perhaps she was skimming some of the money from the rent she gathered from the doctor and his wife and knew Nancy would discover it when she returned? Coupled with the fact that she didn't seem to actually like her friend Nancy that much.... I just don't see the doctor doing the murder alone in his condition. I could see all three of them colluding somehow (though I did think his wife seemed credible, actually). Or perhaps the friend did it and pointed the finger at the couple and planted the evidence. The doc (who had not had the best legal dealings in the past), could have worried that both he and his wife could go to jail for something they didn't do and confessed to a crime he didn't commit in order to save his wife from trial. His letter claiming that he did it solely by himself could have served the purpose of making it less likely that the police and prosecutors would charge his wife in the future and also acted as a catalyst for her to move on with her life. Maybe he did "fall on his sword" for her. Well, I guess we will probably never really know!

Ha, I was coming to this forum to post precisely the same thing!

I hope not, given that Max is already married: http://starcasm.net/archives/227839 I personally found Selita superfluous at best, and annoying at worst. Glad to hear that she won't be replacing Max.

S01.E03: Spotted by the "Paparazzi"
emily842752 replied to Rhondinella's topic in I Wanna Marry Harry [V]
HA!! This totally cracked me up. The whole situation was ridiculous. -
One memorable episode, IMO, was the one about Mark Twitchell. He was (ultimately) convicted of murder in the death of Johnny Altinger, but the episode centered on his attack on Gilles Tetreault. The episode focused on how Tetreault was lured to Twitchell's house by using the website PlentyofFish (expecting a date with a woman), then was attacked by a Twitchell in a mask with a stun baton. And then the police discovered a document, entitled "SKConfessions," which detailed Twitchell's planning, first attempt, and successful second attempt at murdering a man by luring him to his garage using fake online profiles (complete with the process of dismembering the victim's body). And the fact that Keith Morrison did this story made it even creepier.

No, there will be another season!
