When I adopted my Mickey cat from the North shore Animal League where Beth Stern runs, I had to fill out numerous papers all about my home life, etc. Then, they called me twice to see how my cat was doing, eating, etc. I also had to give a donation the day I took her home, which I didn’t mind of course. They really made sure she was going in a good environment.
