But Rob didn't walk into this game with those allies, he made that happen during the game. The main person who he bonded with was Parvati and those two were most definitely not allies. If I recall correctly, Parvati was instrumental in getting Rob voted out last time he played. I'm an oddball because Tony has never bothered me. I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm a Tony fan but his antics tend to amuse me rather than annoy me. I mean, that underground spy shack he tried to build last time was hilarious!

Quick version, Ben, Chrissy and Devon were in the final 3 where Ben was definitely going to be voted out. Then, suddenly, after all these years, at the last second TPTB decided they were going to change the rules and instead of letting the final 3 vote someone off (which is the entire basis of Survivor) they decided to make it a fire-making challenge instead so Ben would have a chance. It was bull and I'm still so bitter lol!

Really? Working for 39 days every few years and making enough money that you can do whatever you want for the rest of your life is pathetic? Sign me up! Heh....sounds like you do get the Ben hate. Ben, in my opinion, is the one player this season who has no business being there. Because she doesn't deserve any credit. She did literally nothing to earn that win, other then attach herself to Rob. I've seen people say that they're bummed Amber was voted out because they wanted to see how she would play without Rob but, the thing is, we did see it....we saw her play without Rob and she sucked. She was voted out first. And we can't really blame that entirely on the fact that her husband was also in the game because Rob was in the exact same position and he managed to have the right conversations with the right people and somehow kept himself out of the line of fire. (Not to mention, I can't feel sorry for Amber getting voted out because of Rob when the only reason she's on this season in the first place is because of him.) I'm not buying the Sandra/Rob feud. That definitely struck me as something TPTB is asking them to play up just for the sake of a storyline.

So excited our show is back! Although I can’t believe they’re making us suffer through EoE again. I guess they didn’t want to risk losing any of the big personalities early but did they not care about how much everyone HATED EoE last time? Seriously though, watching so many great players (and Ben) all trying to work their magic at the same time was amazing to watch. I’m really excited about this season! And, for once, the “real world” relationships, which would normally annoy me, actually added a really interesting level to the strategy. (I love that Yul is still a total swoon-worthy numbers geek!) So many of my favorites are back and, conveniently, they’re all on the same tribe. I am all about the Yul/Wendell alliance! And you all know how much I love Sandra. I don’t care what the situation is or how many other winners are playing, how do you not vote out Boston Rob first?! You know he has magic svengali powers, you need to get him out before he has time to activate them! Not to mention the fact that his wife is also playing. Sure, she’s on the other tribe but what if there’s a tribe swap tomorrow? At least the other tribe was smart enough to vote out Amber.

I can't wait until you get to M vs GenX and David vs Goliath. Those were my 2 most favourite recent seasons so I'm geekily excited to re-live them again through you.

Nobody is saying that accidental touching is the end of the world, it happens sometimes, anyone who has ever taken public transit can attest to this. In this very specific scenario, Dan was told not to touch the women by multiple people on multiple occasions. There was no ambiguity about it. Do. Not. Touch. We saw it all on camera so I don't know why anyone needs to hear Dan's side in order to believe it's true. What I do find fascinating about this is how some men are acting like they're the victims in this scenario. Like someone has taken away their God-given right to touch women whenever they want to. For the record, it's not the end of the world to keep your hands to yourself.

That's great! Most people took the opportunity to point out to their kids that it's better to be a SJW and stand up for what's right than to be a creepy groper who harasses women even after he's been told multiple times by multiple people to stop. But, hey, to each their own.

That's because Sia is smart enough to see through a phoney baloney act like hers. ("I must save the chickens!! Then I'll go to Ponderosa and eat a cheeseburger!")

Haha I just did the same thing. Stopped mid-post to check: "Who the hell was Gavin?" I swear, most reality show people disappear from my memory literally 2 seconds after the season ends.

The Great Food Truck Race - General Discussion
Rachel RSL replied to a topic in The Great Food Truck Race
That was my interpretation as well and, if I actually cared about this mini-season or any of the teams in it, I would be really annoyed that a challenge was, yet again, the deciding factor in who wins the season. -
I’m just dumbfounded that Kellee had a very direct conversation with Dan about not touching her and people are still saying she didn’t do enough or wasn’t clear enough.

I forget, what we’re the old rules?

Ok you guys, you are ALL gaslighting me LMAO! I knew I wasn’t going crazy. There was a big discussion about the Fan Fave award in the merge episode thread here. @fishcakes, you even asked if voting was open yet because you wanted to vote for Janet. Your gaslighting has failed! 😂

I still remember his buddy’s solemn words: ”She died, dude.”

See, and I think of all the people (like that annoying idiot Wendy last season) who seem more like they're playing for the Sia money instead of trying to actually win the game.

As a huge fan, like Sia, I don't understand why a random person who has nothing to do with the show takes up time on the official CBS reunion. She has nothing to do with the show or CBS or Survivor. She's simply a fan. Good for her that she's so generous but even Probst said that the Sia Award is a weird part of the show.

For me, she earned her status as a legend when Johnny Assplay tried to come at her and she just went "LOOK! I CAN GET LOUD TOO!" I have been a Sandra fangirl ever since.

I agree that Jeff was just being helpful but I also think the format made it so much more awkward than it needed to be. At first, Jeff just said for Kelly to talk, vent, whatever she wanted....which is a nice concept, but it's almost like he expected to Kellee to just launch into a monologue or something. Instead, there was all this awkwardness while Kellee tried to figure out what to say. It probably would have been much easier if Jeff had just asked questions and let her answer, as opposed to expecting her to just give some sort of speech without being asked anything first. A conversation needs 2 people so I think Jeff was trying to help. I have often read stories about Sia and her insane generosity. She truly is a wonderful person, I just don't think the Sia Award should be an actual show-sanctioned thing. Let her do it on her own time and God bless her for it but it should be a separate entity from CBS.

I concur! Had to edit this because I got my seasons mixed up but now that I’ve Googled season 8 lol, yes, definitely jump ahead to Cook Islands!
-
This is what kills me. I truly believe that Noura absolutely could have won if she had only been able to articulate all her moves and reasoning. Combine that with her challenge wins, she would have been golden. Sadly, Noura is Noura and you knew her final TC was going to be a big jumbled mess.
-
Yes, definitely Cook Islands! It was the one and only season of Survivor where the person I liked best from Day 1 actually won. (I'm pretty sure the winner was A LOT of people's fave from Day 1.) I don't know how cryptic I should be because I'm not sure if you know who actually won that season. ETA: Also, Cook Islands features the most epic fire-making contest EVER.

That part infuriated me and caused me to hit the fast forward button again. I didn't find it amusing at all. If they don't like her or find her annoying, fine, but that doesn't change the fact that she outplayed all of their asses so maybe don't be such bitter assholes. The numbers don't lie. The bottom line is that we, as viewers, have seen this scenario over and over: When there are men and women in the final 3, and the woman has made just as many good game moves as the men, almost all the votes go to the men and the woman's game play is completely discounted. The men are almost always seen as ones who played the game whereas the woman just road coattails to get there. There isn't an easy way to fix this but a good start would be people acknowledging that there is an underlying bias in favour of the male players and trying to be aware of that when they're deciding who deserves to win. I believe I very clearly said that the reason she lost was her personality.

Although Crystal loudly SCREAMING her vote for Randy will always be one of Survivor's funniest moments to me.

I wonder if Jack screwed himself out of $15 000 by not showing up? Him and Jamal had a very sweet moment. It wasn't racial strife over nothing. Even Jack, the other person involved, agreed immediately that it was something. As for his comment about Aaron being wrong, you may say it was "obvious" yet Jamal was the only one who spoke up and said it. The only one. She wasn't. Don't you remember Aaron and his "If anything had actually happened, I would know about it" moment?

I agree that they shouldn't get death threats but they absolutely should hang their heads. It doesn't mean that they're horrible people who deserve to be miserable and chastised forever, but what they did was shameful. I believe that Elizabeth and Missy are good people who just used really poor judgment, so they don't deserve the violent threats at all, but yeah, they do deserve to feel at least a bit of shame every time they think about what they did.
