  1. I have yet to see a single legitimate source that claims ABC or GH has any interest in Michael Muhney.
  2. I think the only really tolerable and/or compelling actors in the whole new younger hospital set are Parry Shen and Ryan Carnes, both of whom are on recurring. Brad they have no real investment in, IMO, which is a shame because Shen is multi-talented. And Lucas doesn't seem to exist for any purpose other than to help propel superficial drama for others - Felix and Brad fight over him, Julian moons over his son. But when does Lucas ever talk about his own life, beyond those early scenes with or about Julian? When do we see him living his own life? We know he went off to med school but the show doesn't remember and clearly has no interest in him finding a job or a personal life. They won't commit to giving him a contract. He's a talented actor, much, much moreso than he used to be back when he was a twink, but to the show he's just a pretty thing with a legacy connection. If not for Carnes's performance and some of the dialogue writers, he would be almost this sort of opaque gay totem/Spencer accessory. Felix I can enjoy in doses - I think Marc Samuel often has great dry comic delivery still. But he is no good at straight drama, especially if it's over Sabrina. Maybe that could change with better material, but as it is watching him mope over that is cringeworthy. Teresa Castillo seems like a nice girl but is extremely weak, and has gotten painful to watch as they keep giving her heavier and heavier material she cannot handle - even Kristen Alderson shouldered these kind of loads better on OLTL. Sabrina needs to be gone. Kelly Thiebaud isn't much better, and puts me to sleep in any regular scene when she's not just spouting hollow one-liners, which do not a character make. Britt has no actual personality of her own - we never hear anything about who she is, what her aspirations are beyond her sadness over her lot in life with her parents or the men she has lost. It's all about these cheap woe is me touchstones and then it's about who she's not - Sabrina, Liz, etc. But that's not a character. That's not enough.
  3. Dr. Obrecht leaves the building to kidnap people and/or shoot them. Why should I care about her throwing the rulebook at Liz? Will she do it with another torch song?
  4. They were basically another plot point a la Ric, Scott, A.J., etc. - R.J. comes back and takes Téa out on a couple dates (regardless of their very stormy history, in which she dumped him with a Dear John note to run off with Todd, leading to R.J. going back into organized crime) to make Todd/Victor jealous. Like many other characters in similar spots in Ron Carlivati stories, R.J. was cued to recognize that Téa was really into Victor/Todd, and stepped aside after telling her so. That was his whole plot function, and his last appearance on OLTL. For me, if Billy Miller was to be recast as Jason, this Jason would have both his Jason Morgan memories and his Quartermaine ones - torn between the life he lived with Sam, Sonny, Carly, Michael, Robin and so on and the one he had with Monica, Alan, A.J., Emily, Lila, Edward, etc. While he'd still have love and affection for the mob side of the equation, he would begin to atone for his crimes by surrendering himself to the PCPD as a mob hitman and mass murderer. Then, he'd make his deal with the WSB or whatever else - do work for them as a secret agent/PCPD liaison and work off his sins.
  5. I think Stefan would probably become the new Duke - shuffling around, ineffectual. Stephen Nichols isn't nearly so shambolic, but Stefan can be written that way sometimes.
  6. The Billy Miller-as-Jason thing has been in the offing - or at least the rumor mill - since December or January. The other stuff that is now for real, like the Baldwin girls, Kailey, etc. has been floating around longer. I think it will happen but I don't know for sure. I'm all for Miller taking the role - he can be a lot more vibrant than Burton, but it would require them to return the character as a sort of hybrid, of both his most recent self and a new character with his family memories. He can't be just Jason the enforcer anymore, he has to finally go back to the beginning. And I'd rather see him with Robin. Stefan's resurrection has also been floated often as tied to this Kailey thing - Obrecht supposedly knows he is alive and may mention it - but I don't know if they ever came to terms with Stephen Nichols, so it may not occur. They have kept the flame burning for it by having Nikolas constantly reference his uncle in the last nine months. At one point it was to be a story with Genie Francis, where I assume Stefan would play the same cardboard spoiler role to a main couple as Ric/A.J./Scott/etc. before him - the cynical attempt to play on a past romance with no real investment in it beyond using it as the immediate obstacle and plot point for something else. I still haven't forgiven Ron Carlivati for doing it with R.J. and Téa on OLTL.
  7. I'm sure they'll have them eventually. I knew Helena wasn't D-E-A-D dead long before Victor confirmed it.
  8. It is no contest for me - Sonny and Carly. But I don't think that will be happening either. I think they're working up to more Sonny and Ava.
  9. I thought Viki and Dorian were on pretty regularly throughout that story, though it's been a long time since I've watched it. As a fan of theirs I had little complaints. Viki didn't step out, IIRC, until Jared was killed and she forfeited her win to Dorian on Election Day. I do agree Sky and Roxy were lovely, but someone didn't give a shit about them.
  10. He doesn't pay much attention to any characters of color. He might get around to it sometime, he might not.
  11. Kristen had a lot of chemistry with Brandon Barash (Johnny Zacchara). But the show didn't dare touch it.
  12. There have been weird rumors about Kiki being someone, anyone else's baby since forever. First people claimed she might be Duke and Anna's lost child somehow, now it's this. I don't know that I buy any of it, I think that was all spec. I think someone else - I'm thinking of someone in particular but won't mention it in the unspoiled thread since they're not here yet - may end up being Silas and Nina's coma baby. (There was also a persistent claim that Sabrina might turn out to be Duke and Anna's kid, thereby making her Robin's half-sister, which I think got sourced as something RC actually did play with for a while, but that never panned out.)
  13. In fairness, that wasn't Ron - IIRC, T.J. was introduced by Garin Wolf. Ron would've made sure he was a Hardy. He might still, for all I know. I think T.J.'s role will only last until they can find a cute white kid that clicks and reminds Frank of Starr and Cole. There is another one coming.
  14. They only gave T.J. more and let him and Molly hang together because Rafe totally tanked, and to a lesser extent IMO because they saw the press and accolades TR got from his role in the DC sniper film Blue Caprice. Frank Valentini has always loved that kind of quick PR fix and synergy; it's why he used to hire numerous Broadway stars back when he was still in NYC at OLTL. That used to be a common practice at all the New York soaps, of course, but FV's OLTL remained particularly proud of them til the end. Had they gotten even decent buzz off Rafe I think T.J. would've been dismissed as the outrageous (black) thug who stood in the way of true (white) teen love.
  15. She thought it was something Dorian wouldn't do, IIRC; go for the votes by posing as gay. Which I could understand, but I loved the story anyway and I thought she was incredible in it. dubs, I was under the impression at the time that ABCD had stepped in and demand that Rex finally be made a core family member, by hook or by crook. I don't know if that's so now - again, after so many re-re-revised biological parentage stories at first OLTL and then GH, I think Ron may have switched it up all by himself.
  16. IIRC the old rumor, Helena employed Obrecht as Katherine's nurse after the first fall from the parapet. Told O. to heal her up and kill the baby - Katherine could not be allowed to spawn another unworthy Cassadine. Katherine begged Obrecht for mercy and Obrecht took pity on her and the baby, then ended up raising "Kailey" (ugh) in secret or something. More of Obrecht as Stella Dallas, the long-suffering antiheroine we just don't understand! I recall being told that Mary Beth Evans was taping flashbacks for just this purpose, but that was last year, presumably before this and other stories (like the Baldwin girls) got pushed back, so I'd be surprised if she turned up now.
  17. I love Tequan Richmond and want him around, but I still cannot believe they introduced a black kid on this show named "T.J." who is not Tommy Hardy Jr. or his son. The thing is, they wanted the kid they cast as Rafe. He screams Cole from OLTL Mark Deux, right down to the hair and sad eyes, and that's all Frank ever wants - Starr and Cole. He's not terrible but he's pretty lame.
  18. I think it'd be a waste to kill one of the last Barrington heirs with ties to both GH shows, for all the hash they've made of the character with both story and actor. I'd sooner see him sent away to a hospital or sanitarium and then brought back someday as the more dangerous, edgy character that is implicit in the character's thumbnail sketch (poor little rich orphan who grew up on the streets, father is a vampire serial killer) - none of which is onscreen. The funny thing is, Frank and Ron (I think it's more Frank with the youth stories) have done this story again and again and again - they thought it was gold at OLTL with Cole Thornhart, the "orphaned" rich boy who fell for Starr, and so they repeated it often. Trey Mitchell, motherless castaway with a secret past. Rafe, orphaned castaway with a dark past. I think we have a couple new kids of that type coming. And of course, they're all white.
  19. "He's a loving god!" I remember that. And then they fucked in the pews on that very day, IIRC. Where the little children could see, as I once said. Jen ruined the show's last shot at getting behind Joey as a serious male lead, and that was because they (and Brian Frons) were taking a shot at making her the next Marty Saybrooke. Complete with multiple direct allusions to Marty by Nora and Andrew - as in, 'Jen is just like Marty Saybrooke,' full stop. I just remember that fantasy Joey had where Jen was standing in the doorway of the church or something, and she looked completely dim and vacant but we were supposed to see her as the epitome of burning desire and sexuality. And then Jessica Morris, with no emotion or passion, droned out, "I know you want me, Joe." I got a lot of mileage out of that line. I know a lot of people wept for Jen when she died, were heartbroken, etc. I think she never improved as much as people said, though Jessica Morris did try; the very earnest writing and her co-stars did most of it for her. I cheered for her death.
  20. She met Mitch up there, too.
  21. Yes, he did. And then, IIRC, Nathaniel Marston's Al fell from the quarry and became paralyzed.
  22. You have given more thought to Noah Drake's narrative throughline than I think anyone at the show has in close to ten years.
  23. Back in the early 2000s Gary Tomlin (and later FV) made regular use of a rock quarry set that was supposed to be up around Llantano Mountain. The kids would hang out up there, there would be fights, and in later years I think Nash and Jessica even had sex up there in the rain. I always personally believed the rock quarry was in fact the remains of Eterna - I wanted Bo and Nora to go up there and for Bo to be like, 'hey, wait a minute...' And I'm sure it's something Ron would have inserted into dialogue had he thought of it. It was just a funny little thought.
  24. I hated the switch, but I liked Echo and Clint. They didn't do enough with Kim Zimmer, who worked well on the show, surprisingly enough given the obscure character. And her later stuff was lousy. I remember Zimmer telling a story about that debacle with little Sam as Spider-Man and the silly string gun and Dorian. IIRC, she said she wasn't big on that mess either, but they'd been there all day and Robin Strasser was doing enough bitching for both of them - "I just wanted to go home, okay?"
  25. I'd be happy to watch a psycho Sabrina - I think it would be kind of a classic bit, the saccharine princess who turns into a closet scheming madwoman - but I think we're more likely to get Psycho Nina. Don't worry about losing Michelle Stafford, though, her paid guards - er, the WSB - I mean, her vast wealth will get her off the hook every time. I laugh when the scripts say Sam has a job. Sam has no damn job. She is a mob widow and Jason was stockpiling blood money for years. It's not like his dumb ass had expensive tastes, either. The only time they make Sam "work" is when someone, usually her or her family, needs help with a plot point. If they had her actually out on real cases doing real shit for longer than a half-second I'd be invested in her P.I. work, but they never do. It's a waste. But Sam's character has been a waste of huge potential since basically Day 1.
