  1. GOOD LORD. Between the two, I'd have to say the Huntzbergers. At least Mitchum had some redeeming qualities, IMO. I saw nothing good out of Straub or Francine either one. Ignoring parental issues, would you rather be siblings with Jason or Christopher? (Don't know why I picked those two, they're just who popped into my head.)
  2. Let's see, the conversation begins with one of them being a bit evasive, and it ends on more of a bittersweet note. It also comes from one of the eps that has already been eliminated in our current elimination game.
  3. Totally agree about Scully/Doggett. The more I watch the latter seasons, the more I love Doggett and his relationship with those around him, especially Scully.
  4. Mrs. Kim, for sure. For all sorts of reasons. (The food would be better at the Gilmores though. Hmmm, I might have to put some more thought into that one LOL.) Hee! I knew you'd pick Babette. I remember how you don't like her screechy voice. I'd kinda like to see a different actor playing Andrew. He was just so blah. I can't even really picture what he looks like at the moment. Which would embarrass you more to be seen with in public - Zach in his silk wedding robe, or Brian's cousin in his Zorro costume?
  5. Independent, that's the only two eps I have left to watch, myself. (I'm skipping Jump the Shark, because Eff You CC.) William, the ep and the kid, is a heartbreaker for sure.
  6. Yep. (It bugs me that it won't let me take the last line off inside the quote box, btw.)
  7. I'm tempted to say Logan because I agree with you about the smirking, but he grew on me by the end of the series (shut up) and I could at least see why Rory found him attractive and appealing. I cannot, however, say the same for Max. I do actually wonder if I would be less put-off by his relationship with Lorelai if he were played by a different actor, so he gets my vote. Same sort of question about some of the townies - are there any you would rather see played by different actors? Miss Patty, Babette, Taylor, Andrew, etc?
  8. L&W&S (just too much icky Max) TDDR
  9. That is awesome Hide! Did you squeal out loud when you saw the question? Heh.
  10. Paris is Burning, Kiss and Tell, The Deer Hunters
  11. Oh, I so totally agree. It makes me teary just thinking about it. DD played that to perfection. The scene later when he walks back to Scully and she asks if he's okay, and he says "I'm fine....I'm free." is another teary moment. And you know, they don't make a huge issue out of this on the show, but I really think Closure was a turning point for Mulder spiritually. For so many years he carried so much guilt for not being able to "save" Samantha (either by preventing her abduction or by finding her later) so I think him being able to see that she really was okay, that Someone else had stepped in and taken care of her for him, was a huge burden lifted.
  12. Hee, I'll say the roller coaster tour because I think Luke would be more out of his element there, and that's always funny to watch. I can just see Lorelai stopping at every amusement park eatery and Luke being horrified at what all she's consuming. You're dining at Luke's! Do you have a cheeseburger or a French dip sub? (It's early, I'm tired.)
  13. The Host was my first episode too, Bastet. I think we discussed that before at TWoP but I don't remember now. I was captivated by the chemistry between Mulder and Scully, even when they were working apart. I remember I was baking cookies or something and I burned them because I couldn't tear myself away from the TV. Good times, heh.
  14. Paris is Burning Love, Daisies, blah blah P.S. shut up (Hee. I'm feeling feisty tonight.)
  15. Yay! I think we should do season-by-season. There are some sorta-good eps in the latter seasons that wouldn't have a chance against some of the more stellar eps of the earlier ones.
  16. But.........there's NO TIME! Hee. Yes, and yes. I personally think the ship has sailed, traveled around the world, and sank in a whirlpool by now, but if we ever got something great I would be the first one in line to see it. I appreciate IWTB for what it was - a nod to the fans, with a creepy MotW story and a whole lotta M/S goodness - but I also accept that it was never going to bring in the numbers they needed to do a third. And I'm okay with that. Mostly.
  17. I love that I've stumped ya'll. :D Not talking about either Max or Luke.
  18. Hee! Maybe Mrs. Kim found a way to somehow absorb her husband into herself so she was the One True Parent. Or something. I would love to dress up for the dance marathon, but actually dancing I'd last about as long as Babette did. It'd be fun to run a table or something though. But I would definitely be in attendance for the FoLA. I thought it was amazing. Speaking of attendance - WYR be forced to attend the Poe reading (all ninety-five hours of it) or Kirk's strange and vaguely creepy mime in WGMTD?
  19. HA! I think I might choke laughing right now. You know I'm with you on all of this! I felt really and truly a little bit scared for Rory in There's the Rub when she was begging Jess to leave so that she wouldn't be "in a fight with Dean" after he called.
  20. I guess I see that little situation a bit differently. I never saw Luke's driving over there to punch Christopher as being about Luke and his jealousy over Lorelai. I saw it as Luke being (justifiably) angry that Christopher took advantage of an extremely emotionally distraught woman. There was no question that Lorelai was absolutely devastated that night - both from the expression on her face when she arrived, and when she woke up in his bed. Christopher should never have slept with her that night. (And this is coming from someone who likes Christopher and often defends him.) I think he deserved what he got and I was cheering Luke on 100%. Besides, it's not like Luke went over there with a baseball bat and beat the living sh*t out of him. One well-aimed punch is not going to kill a man. Sheesh.
  21. Heh, I think that was most people's reaction. I thought it was beautiful, but I fully recognize I am in a very small minority there.
  22. Okay, my mytharc-focused rewatch has led me to watch NIHT 1/2, Trust No 1, and Provenance/Providence this weekend. First thing I want to say is that 1013 has gotten really sloppy about their Bible quotes, and it really bugs. I can forgive the slipup in Existence, because there was just a transposition of the numbers (the "water from the rock" story is in Exodus 17:6, not Exodus 7:16), but when Scully identified the passage Josepho was quoting in Providence as being from Ephesians, I literally laughed and said "WHAT?!?" out loud to the TV. Ephesians doesn't even contain any apocalyptic writings, the passage is from Ezekiel. They've shown Scully to be a competent enough Bible scholar in the past that she would know that. It BUGS. Moving on. At this point I have honestly found that it's best to approach the mythology of the show as if we are in the same spot as the characters, not really knowing anything beyond what they do, and accepting that some of the things we think we have figured out are just incorrect. So.... I think what's going on at this point is that the alien replicants and the supersoldiers are indeed two different groups, but since they were both created using alien DNA (the replicants by the aliens themselves, and the supersoldiers by the US military) there are some similarities between the two groups. That is why all of them have the strange bumps on their necks, and why all of them can be revived from things that would be beyond hope of survival in a normal human. (After all, with the right technology, all you really need to recreate a being is a bit of its DNA, right?) They also all share a weakness - they can be killed by exposure to magnetite. I do believe that the Shadowman was the "reincarnation" of Darius Michaud from Fight the Future. The show never specifies one way or the other, and I love the idea, so there you go. Scully takes a lot of flack for her S9 decisions and actions, but I'm truly starting to believe that she is afraid of William, afraid of the implications of how he came to be. I honestly think she believes she unwittingly unleashed a monster on the world, and everything we see out of her in S9 is based on her struggle between just wanting to love her child, and her personal horror at what she might have done. Comer's deathbed confession is still very confusing, but I think the prophecy that he tells Scully Josepho is following must have been written on the ship they had in Canada, and while Comer personally didn't support Josepho's plans, he believed the prophecy was real. Josepho is the one who wanted Mulder out of the way so that he (Josepho) could control William and use him to help the aliens take over the world. Comer, believing that Mulder was indeed already dead, came to kill William so that he could not be used to help the aliens. I can't remember if there was anything else I wanted to mention right now or not. It's after midnight though, so I'm off to bed.
  23. I've been watching the S9 mytharc eps and am about to go to that thread to post, but I just wanted to drop back into this one for a moment. Reading over the Cherish the Past XF review for Essense/Existence, the author had this to say: I have to say, as one of the five 'Philes in the world who actually like the starlight explanation for Samantha, I think this is a brilliant idea and it made me very happy. I can't believe it never occurred to me before though. I'm a little ashamed of myself.
