  1. Hee! Also, yes. So much yes. It literally always shocks me to remember that Beyond the Sea is in Season 1. It could easily stand up against an episode from any other season and the quality be just as good, IMO.
  2. GYPSY: Please make your mother stop talking to me. Hee! That's from WBB. (Sorry this one is so big, I don't know how to make it smaller for the post. ETA - Scratch that, it shrunk when it posted.)
  3. Concert Interruptus, of course. Ah, Nolie beat me to it!
  4. Kiss and Tell -- Paris is Burning -- Kill Me Now ++
  5. True. Maybe Mulder's greatest failing was insisting that the truth was, indeed, out there. Krycek and Mulder - their similarities and their differences - are such a fascinating study, IMO. It's almost like they're the younger versions of CSM and Bill Mulder, in a way. They always have a grudging respect for each other, even though at times they are allies and at times the worst of enemies. But Krycek, like CSM, is willing to go to lengths that Mulder just won't go to.
  6. Very good point, and very true. M/S were the ONLY thing that made the show worth watching to the end for me.
  7. Hee! So true. My hubby watched a few eps with me over the years, and he always maintained that Lorelai was pretty to look at but would drive him crazy in about 3.2 seconds with the constant running of the mouth. He'd much prefer to be with Sookie - still pretty, still fun, but slightly less neurotic and talkative.
  8. Christopher Returns ++ (because the townies' interactions with him make me laugh) PS I Lo... -- Paris is Burning --
  9. Paris is indeed a fascinating girl, even though she would probably make me suicidal if I knew her in real life. Has anyone ever figured out why she was so close to Louise and Madeline before Rory came along? I've fanwanked for years that she had an incident with the school counselor like Rory did in LM,LD and came out of the office saying "You, and you - I have to make friends at this school so you're it." Heh. I love Jess, and yes I love Liz too. TJ is an idiot but he makes me laugh and he makes Liz happy, so for that I am okay with him. I adore Gypsy. "I can't look at this car anymore. I miss my home!" Heeeee. I liked Tanna too.
  10. Heh, glad I could be of service MsT! Tobin, as you may know, makes me want to poke very sharp things into my eyeballs (more for the way Lorelai and Sookie both turn into vapid ninnies around him than for the way he acts himself), but I kind of love Rune. He's just so horrible he crosses over into great. How does everyone feel about Jackson's brother Beau? He made me giggle in FoLA but I found him absolutely hysterical in Godmother.
  11. Paris is Burning -- (because I was reminded y'day about how much I hate that episode) Concert Interruptus ++ LDaT --
  12. My UO is that I really did not care for Dave that much at all. He had his moments, but overall I didn't like his character all that much and I didn't think he was such a great boyfriend for Lane. It bugged me the way he encouraged her to keep lying to her mother, and even lied to her himself about what kind of person he was. That's not a quality I would like to see in the boy my daughter is dating.
  13. S1 - S4 least favorites - Paris is Burning - I haaaaate this episode. OMG, I cannot even describe how much. PS I Lo.... - ugh. LDaT - again, ugh. The thousand bazillion daisies thing drives me crazy too, but I've fanwanked that it is actually a thousand pots of daisies, not a thousand individual daisies. Utterly ridiculous no matter how you look at it, and good lord a'mighty how much money did Max blow on those, but at least that seems more like what it's supposed to be. Sadie, Sadie - more Max and Dean ugh-ness. Road Trip to Harvard - I just can't overlook their behavior. I Solemnly Swear - I hate Francie, and the deposition stuff is amusing but not enough to salvage the ep. Dang, that's the one where Sookie accidentally flirts with Joe though. I love that part. So hilarious. ATOPAF - I just never can warm up (heh) to this one, for whatever reason. Keg! Max! - The band stuff amused me the first couple of times I watched it, but after that it got tiring. Don't even get me started on Rory crying to Dean like Jess tried to rape her or something. *eyelid twitch* Tick Tick Tick Boom - The Floyd/Jason/Richard stuff is just so horrible. There's a few others that I'm rather indifferent about, but those are the ones that I actively dislike.
  14. Totally agree to all of the above! I think one of my favorite things about Scully is that when she can actually SEE (or hear, or touch, or whatever) something paranormal that she can't deny, she doesn't go into "la la la I CAN'T HEAR YOU" mode, she just accepts it for what it is and keeps plugging on. Even when she's determined to come up with some kind of explanation that makes sense with what she knows, she doesn't completely dismiss something just because she can't explain it yet.
  15. Tee hee hee. Rory to Lorelai in RALB. "No, actually, asking me about my golf game was actually a little too touchy-feely for me."
  16. SNORT. That almost sent my hot chocolate flying. Totally agree. I really think they did a disservice to Rory's relationship with her grandparents in S6. By having Emily turn into "my mother's mother" so that Princess Rory would be ready to get her hindquarters back in gear, IMO they backtracked on everything we had learned about who Emily actually was in the first five seasons. The beauty of Emily and Lorelai's relationship to me was Lorelai's growing realization that maybe the responsibility of her unhappy childhood/teenage years was not squarely in her parents' lap. S6 made them villains and erased all that progress, IMO. Another reason I hate it so much.
  17. That's a good point. I'm not a big Logan fan, but I don't hate him either. I did when he first showed up on the scene, but after a while I realized it was really more Colin and Finn that I hated (Colin more than Finn, though) rather than Logan. But I do agree with you that it was important to Rory to be with someone who got along with her family - all of her family.
  18. I have a feeling my answers probably change every time, heh, but for now I'm going to say - Season rankings - 2, 3, 4, 1, 5, 7, 6 (totally with you guys on the "dreariness" of S6, and S7 tried but there was just no coming back from the depths of crap that was S6) Without giving too much thought to it (because I tend to overthink it and then get all indecisive), favorite eps, in order of season - Double Date Concert Interruptus Bracebridge Dinner There's the Rub I Can't Get Started Let the Games Begin A Deep Fried Korean Thanksgiving Those Are Strings, Pinnochio The Fundamental Things Apply The Reigning Lorelai
  19. Ah ok, so it's three eps at a time, giving them whatever rating you want. Got it. -- LDaT (I have a very low tolerance level for Max and Dean both, so an ep that is saturated with the both of them? Gag me) ++ Double Date (probably one of my favorite eps of the entire series) ++ Cinnamon's Wake (the humor is snapping, and I love Morey more than is probably healthy)
  20. My UO (I assume as much anyway) is that for whatever reason, Lazy Hazy Crazy Days just does not work for me. I don't even know why. On paper it should be a great episode, but something about it just makes me think 'meh' every time it's brought up.
  21. Okay so this is not the same as the Elimination game, right? I need to go start supper but I'll come back and try to figure out how to play...lol... Back..... So are we supposed to vote for one (++) and two (--) or did it just work out that way with the previous votes?
  22. *waving* Another displaced TWoPer here! I look forward to getting to know all of you guys.
  23. *waving madly* I made it over here! It's time to go pick the kids up from school, but I look forward to chatting with you all again about our favorite show. I hope everyone does a "about me" type of post, I love finding out about people's real lives and putting stories with faces. Or, usernames. Whatever. Bastet, sorry to hear about your furbaby. :(
