  1. I like Alton Brown. He has a background on TV and knows how it works better than most people in the food network.
  2. I like her recipes, but I feel her style is too boring for prime time tv.
  3. I like Tyler Florence, but I can’t watch this program since the producers made those Mormon kids lose the final from minute one. It was so evident that they wanted the other team to win that the final episode was an embarrassment.
  4. I am glad Sadie is gone. I have noticed they cut the “feminist” stuff in the latest episodes probably attempting to make her more likable in case the producers decide she might be a finalist. When the show started she reminded me of one of those high school students who hint their teachers that mom or dad know somebody important in the board. I am sorry that some of the best cooks already Jaala and Aaron seemed to be the best contestants.
  5. Only one contestant used the grandma/abuelita/nonna card. Not bad. The young kid tried to use the “me against the world” card, let’s see if he gets a place. I don’t think we have the designated bitch or the I-am-better-than-thou guy yet. Those villains usually are allowed to create problems but they are eliminated just before the finals (they don’t sell books).
  6. I like Masterchef. I have seen different seasons and different international editions (US, Canada, Spain, Argentina, Paraguay) and you notice some similarities between them. In the kids' shows the producers do not try to create fake rivalries like they do in the adults' episodes. In all programs you can see how some of the contestants are shown to be favorites, and they have a lot of camera time, just to suddenly being dropped just for a bad dish. And you see how some contestants keep going and going even if they don't seem to to really well.
  7. I have the feeling that Aaron was in the kitchen all the time, checking everything and probably telling the kids what to do. I can't imagine the same show with teenagers... they would be mean to each other. Kids do not use strategies like adults do (for example, picking contestant considering if they can beat them of not).
  8. I have noticed that when Chopped started, they usually had many chefs from New York that seemed to be very arrogant. Now they look for chefs from different parts of the country and it seems that mostly are competitive but polite.
  9. I like the show, but some of the budgets that the couples have are really mind blowing specially when you consider their jobs.
  10. I have been reading for a while the different topics before deciding to join the discussion with my thoughts. I usually don't watch a lot of tv but I follow this series. Steven of course was playing himself as a maniac. At least he doesn't try to manipulate the audience trying to fake that he is a better person that he really is. Justin has been a great disappointment to me. Refusing to go to the doctor's office as if he were a spoiled child shows me that sometimes he is just trying to look for attention. He keeps telling the story of Steven abusing him when they were kids and using it as an excuse for doing whatever he wants.
