  1. Any time the family mention the word school... they are not moving. About the added value... it has to do with the neighborhood... no matter what you do, if the values in your in your area are 200k to 300k you are never going to get 400k. i remember a show long time ago, something like my house is worth what... and some realtor were telling people not to make big improvements if they wanted to sell the house, because they will not get their money back.
  2. The Barcelona couple didn’t do their homework. Barcelona's mayor, Ada Colau is a radical leftist who defends squatters. If this couple ever has squatters in their property or tenants stop paying their rent, good luck trying to recover their property. Spain is full of horror stories involving squatters and tenants who stop paying rent.
  3. It is amazing how many people are caught nowadays thanks to their cell phones. Las summer in Spain a friend who is a cop told me there are finding many career criminals ditching their smartphones and going back to flip phones to reduce the risk of leaving a big trail of info behind.
  4. I loved the Taipei couple. No excessive whining. No “In the USA we have....” comments. Of course they are teachers, they know how to control their expectations. I found it funny that the realtor depended on her uncle for transportation.
  5. The lawyer in Peru played the feminist card. Probably most seasoned guides have met tons of people like her before: urban types who one day decided to follow a dream and in a few months they went back to NY o SF. I was born and raised in Europe. If I had 10 dollars for every American who have told me that their “dream” is to live in Europe and enjoy a relaxed lifestyle I would be a millionaire and I could go back to Europe to have that life. Too many movies with Italian villas and French and Spanish cafés. I have known people who wanted to open wineries and they have given up, when they realized that it is not easy and you have to work a lot.
  6. I don’t think Bri was ever a villain. Considering some brilliant evil contestants that we have had before, she is a Girl Scout. Krissy and Natasha in season 4 were really mean to everybody. And some of the men played good cop/bad cop in some episodes. It was a true mean season.
  7. Because Chopped judging is very formulaic: most of the time they say something good and something bad about each dish. It works very well. i can’t stand comedians as judges, pretending to be funny.
  8. Probably most of the chefs who compete against Flay they do it for their own ego and self promotion. Anyway it is easy to know who cooked each dish: Bobby’s dish is not classic and he always uses Calabrian Chiles. only chef Burrell has more ego than Bobby, but I have the feeling that Bobby is mellowing with age, but Anne is getting more and more self conceited.
  9. I wonder if the blogger tries to eat for free in exchange for a good review, as some influencers try to do.
  10. Dorian didn’t cook in some of the most technical challenges and her cooking never advanced during the whole show. She was heavily favored from day one. by the way, her house and cars were very nice, not luxurious but looked new and clean. I don’t think she was poor before entering the show. I am kind a disappointed the show didn’t have a real villain the audience love to hate.
  11. Please, no more Palm Spring couples.... they want the classic...but then they are always bitching about how they need more modern rooms.
  12. Sorry father Adam has to go. I am glad the silly Love affair for Bobby has ended too. I like Adrian, kind of crazy with a good heart.
  13. My spouse said a woman was going to win, because the three former winners were male. I said no, this is not MC Canada.... I was wrong. At least Dorian didn’t serve her food in foil baking pans or Tupperware dishes. Her house looked pretty nice, not sure about the story she is telling. But it is tv, so who knows. If you can put up with people in an elite college or the military, you can probably survive Joe Bastianich.
  14. Probably they were waiting to do all the cursing and fighting later, at the pub, after a few beers. That’s quintessentially British behavior for me, as I was born and raised in Continental Europe.
  15. I guess Dorian will cook potato salad, green bean casserole and burgers during the finals. All served in a big Tupperware dish.
  16. I don’t like the beach episodes, the same I dislike Caribbean episodes in the international HH: they all look the same to me.
  17. Probably a few of them are false. I have watched MC editions where some of the “home cooks” were kind of semi pro, for example they had taken up cooking courses in trade school or community college.
  18. I like the chemistry between the hosts. They are funny and entertaining. I don’t like the bitchiness os some of the couples in the show, usually from the partner who wants to leave. I believe most couples have made a decision before the show. it was funny to see the clothes and watch how the program was edited. You can see how they edited the show specially when they were looking other houses.
  19. It scary that Austin is starting to look like a franchise of San Francisco in Texas. Houston is full of people who want to live in Austin, but they say cost of living and salaries are better in Houston that there.
  20. I would like to watch more teaching moments in the show and less comedy, even if they have cut a lot in the slapstick comedy they used to do a few years ago. I have seen chef Burrell cook impressive dishes before , but she seems to be a very difficult person to work with. By the way, why in the food network nobody can pronounce “paella”. All the chefs say “payella”. And don’t let me start writing about the chorizo in the paella...🤯
  21. I I said that a few seasons ago, and I still watch it... and several international editions.😮
  22. Tacky outfit, but I was born and raised in Europe and for me (and most continental Europeans )it is difficult to picture an elegant British tourist. Something like James Bond. The whole episode sucked. As a rule, I dislike the episodes filmed in restaurants. I think I spent the whole episode reading something and just catching glimpses of the action.
  23. She cooks well, but she is still doing meals suitable for a thanksgiving dinner or a potluck, not for a restaurant. I thought this season was supposed to be amazing and most of the contestants never made anything remarkable.
  24. I don’t think Gordon Ramsey runs the day to day operations. Specially when he seems to be doing multiple projects at the same time. I watched some YouTube videos of past seasons and some programs may have a dozen executive producers, whatever that means. the judges doesn’t seem to have a lot of choices in the programs. Producers decide for them. In several MC seasons in different countries, the judges wear earpieces to receive directions. I remember watching MC Canada and in seasons 2 and 3 it was really clear who was going to win from the very beginning. I don’t think GR, Aaron or Joe care very much about who wins. In media, the producers are the bosses.
  25. There are several executive producers in the show.
