  1. What a horrible episode, the worst PD in years. Of course she talks about an abortion appt and of course like in 100% of TV and movies the woman never, ever goes through with it. Of course a kidnapped and raped woman describing the joys of having a child due to systemic kidnapped rapes is just the image Burgess needed to keep the child. Usually love Burgess but now all we have to look forward to in PD is pregnant Burgess and the city melting down over the guy framed for killing the kids. Call me in week 8, maybe it will be over.
  2. Actually, at Chicago Med, Burgess would show up for the abortion and NataNutbag would kidnap her and lock the door and not allow her to go to her appointment.
  3. Like someone said, people rag on Ruzek for being stupid, but he is legitimately not that bright. But every storyline that involves Jay he just makes one stupid decision after another. How does he walk in on that woman with the gun who wanted to out him to killers minutes before? And he thinks playing with her kid fixes anything? And tells her in the first place? Ugh, awful episode.
  4. Thats a good point about Lindsay. Too bad Chicago is sooo cold outside and the work is sooo hard for poor Sophie Bush. Halstad has earned his value throughout the seasons as a superb shot and an exceptional hand to hand fighter. His military, straight arrow background gives him legitimacy. But his constant doubting of Voight is maddening, even when he’s been proven to be a problem with his second-guessing. If I were Voight I’d feel like this is not a guy I want on my team. Take an order, do what I tell you, trust me and shut the F up. If you can’t be a member of this team because you cannot trust me, then go work for ISP. You’re a great cop, but you aren’t a fit here. Its also weird that his actor is also a goofball, kinda anticop actually.
  5. I agree with this. I thought she was brought in to finally give Atwater a love interest, but now she essentially adds nothing to the show. 3 females does seem like a lot for that mix, frankly. Did they need to replace the Missing Hispanic when Antonio went off to Druggieland? I don’t see anything she brings to the table. I actually miss Lindsay, even though her real-life actor is an insufferable jerk. Kinda miss Alvin, too. Don’t miss Antonio one bit, and I still wonder why Voight keeps Halstad around. I can tolerate Haley when she’s not judging her fellow officers. Burgess and Atwater are the bright spots and Ruzek, yeah he’s a dope but I love his uncompromising pro cop pro brother attitude. I still think they need to bring back all the scenes with Trudy at the front desk, that’s such a loss now.
  6. Funny, when I first read this comment I thought you were talking about Gabby but I forgot about Little Moe Howard following Severide around. What a mess.
  7. It was hard to watch this episode and wonder what exactly is up with the relationships. Severide is Mr super hot dude with a mediocre at best looking girlfriend, now being pursued by an even less attractive girl with bad hair, which is supposed to be an interesting storyline. Casey, another single guy that I expect to do better, gets a return trip from his long lost extremely ordinary looking ex, not even remotely attractive when in a ball gown. (Which is not a size 4) The guys on this show are shockingly “underchicked,” something you rarely see on TV. The only consistent thing other than that is every single person in the show is involved with someone of a different race, which is neither here nor there but when you total them all up it seems painfully forced and terribly important to someone. And finally, the one girl on the entire show who is exceptionally attractive, Sylvie, is the one who can’t find a date. Uh, right. Feels like the writer(s) here have serious agendas about dating, maybe even some personal biases or chips on their shoulders from high school that they are working out in these storylines.
  8. For a change I’m not interested in nitpicking every detail in this episode. April is horrible of course and Choi has been a psycho, but let’s face it, they deserve each other. I thought it was interesting that during the entire kidney drama that they actually consulted an attorney and an ethics guy with the Administrator... something I’ve screamed about for week after week, wondering how they never did that during all the other craziness. I have to believe the writers finally got the message that this was sorely missing. However, I’m going to say after many weeks of roasting this hackneyed soap opera, that this episode was one of their best in a long time. The Downs Story, the kidney, Will growing a set and telling Nataloon to bug off... even Maggie’s 5 minute relationship guy surviving, they were good stories. So was the tough, tough call by the heart Doc with the kid, not bad. Im going to give Med a thumbs up this week. Minor detail, but I don’t think the Downs kid plays hockey, I think he just “skates.” He was wearing a hockey jersey in the video but he wasn’t dressed for or playing hockey.
  9. I’m still not joining your club, ScotchDude. I’m stick with the Hot Guinea crowd, lol. Anyway, I said the same thing when I saw the decorations. There were still ghouls, even if it was before ebay, that would have gobbled up those horror momementos. I know... I have a Gacy painting.
  10. I really, really wanted to love everything a poster who was named “Bruinsfan” said, especially with the right jersey in the avatar and everything, but you lost me when you called me “milk.” Wah. You probably know this already, but, you do know the same actor played Twisty and Jingles...right?
  11. My guess was that everyone nominated Stella because they were hoping she would fail under pressure.
  12. I was torn most of the season. It seemed like they had no continuity or end game so they kept tacking on stories because they were running out of logical places to go. Actually, I have found that to be a theme on many AHS seasons. I did like when the writing stuck to actual events, such as when Ramirez was captured by the mob in Cali, but with the story insert of Jingles being responsible for it. But other times Ramirez was completely inaccurate either by design or convenience which I find annoying. I still can’t get over the concept of the most famous bad serial killer teeth ever, being played by an actor with $30k veneers. He did look a bit like him, though. And what was the purpose of the unnamed “serial killer trainee guy” introduced towards the end? His role had zero purpose and value. Cut off his thumbs? Seriously? As others have mentioned, for people to buy in to this fiction there has to be believably consistent “rules” which didn’t happen in this show. And the idea that Margaret was chopped into pieces including her head, but because of some 30 second pop science rule we were supposed to believe she wasn’t dead when she was FLUSHED over the fence was flat out stupid. Speaking of Margaret, she was a good actor as were many in this season. Emma Roberts was very good but she was a little too physically tiny/flawless to play an 80s girl. She does not look like an 80s girl at all. Cody Fern is obviously the best of the bunch but yeah, looks like he pissed someone off. I will say I did not miss seeing the same actors over and over. Sarah Paulson is a decent actor but overexposed doesnt describe her well enough. Finally, how do you do an 80s series with no Flock of Seagulls reference until a blink in the finale? And no, there was nothing, absolutely nothing scary at any point. It was all camp, eventually silly and comedic. I also think the Jason Voorhees connection was wasted and underdeveloped. The coming out of the lake scene was great though. The season was still entertaining enough to watch every week.
  13. “I’m going to need time to get over this...” Because someone used the word “doo-rag?” This is what gets in the way of race relations in America. Milking and triggering over this horrifying offense is why people stop listening. It becomes about a power grab as opposed to a teachable moment, neither of which were necessary here.
  14. Wait.... waiiiiiittttt.... wait. A. minute. Did I just hear NataNutbag actually utter the word “ETHICS” at another human being??? Without a doubt the nurse pulled a near unforgivable move. But, NATALOON threw the ETHICS card? That’s like John Wayne Gacy complaining about the unfairness of Chicago politics. I feel like the writers are mocking the audience now. It’s like they are saying, “hah, they wanted Natanitwit fired... wait ‘till they see THIS episode!”
  15. I would not disagree with taking issue with such an attitude. Im also agreeing that the “for the purposes of the show” FR was designed to be racist... that was my point, the show again unnecessarily paints LE in a ridiculous light. FR is a developing science and it does in fact have some challenges regarding race and civil liberties, balanced with public safety. But the hocus pocus + overt racism portrayed in the episode was outrageous and disingenuous. I don’t think we actually disagree much, here.
  16. I think in most cases, you would be right. I believe in this instance, though, that cop’s character was just a flaming jerk, and a well-known one at that. Most any cop in that spot would have been helpful to FD on scene without the need for a superior to tell him to act like a professional. Most PD/FD are quite good at that.
  17. I’m going to take a wild guess and assume innocent black men are not in prison right now because of an imaginary Dick Wolf racially blind facial recognition system. FYI, facial recognition was not created to be racist. Don’t get your propaganda from cop hating producers.
  18. Dick Wolf outdid himself this episode. He not happy trying to make cops look bad or crooked in every episode, now they are responsible for an innocent black guy getting killed in prison and then covering it up. Dick, just change the show’s title to, “I hate cops, here my latest fake depiction of how much you should hate them too.”
  19. That opening scene was such a painful exercise in Wolf and his cop hate it was insane. Cops not competent on scene. No cop shoots that idiot through the window, but Herrmann is the hero shooting water and the 2 firemen save the day hanging off the roof facing potential gunfire. Give me a break. Oh that’s right, there was the idiot cop that gave Herman grief, there’s that. I did like the Commissioners explanation for moving Severide in that spot. Good leadership. Can’t imagine why anyone would think Severide would hit on that chick though, yeesh. Not to mention she’s obviously a manipulator. He saved three lives because apparently none of the cops on scene could do their jobs. Thanks Dick Wolf. Most firemen I know would have run the hose through the cops car windows.
  20. I’m going to take a wild stab and assume Med, with its clear soap opera format, is meant to appeal to female viewers primarily. And the female viewers will run up TV ratings. It’s the only thing that makes sense. Certainly the only thing about Med that makes sense. I wonder how interesting a team serial killer couple Phillip and Dead Ava would have made? Another lost opportunity, Med!
  21. I know Kelly is a full time arson criminal investigator on the side, but I’m sorry, that set of circumstances was not enough to suspect foul play in that case. That strained logic. “Oh she played chess last week, she wasn’t feeble minded.” Stop it. The twist with the mom doing it was a nice touch. I thought the black gay kid was gonna kiss Gallo in the locker room. Surprised he didn’t. The women’s lounge was annoying. Of course women only want to be treated the same as men... except when they are being treated special. If I was Bowden I’d have asked the ladies if being part of this fire team wasn’t enough for them and maybe they could explore girl power in another career.
  22. I can’t miss Chicago PD, although I can do without Wolfs constant attempts to make cops look bad. Fire appears to be the most harmless of the 3. But Med is the absolute worst, a full time horrifyingly bad soap opera with some unethical medical stuff thrown in.
  23. I knew Nataloon would face no consequences... but I didn’t expect the show to literally start seconds after she kidnapped that child and the Admin made it all go away (temporarily) with the phony after the fact court order. Natanut actually got a full pass and WAS BACK TREATING THAT KID minutes after committing felony kidnapping. We refused to watch St Amsterdam because we heard it was nonstop ethics ignoring and doing whatever the staff wanted, but Med is completely out of control right now and near-unwatchable. And why hasn’t the immediate Admin (Black Lady 1 from Law and Order) done ANYTHING to Nat... EVER... and not been fired? Admins pay for this foolishness. She routinely put the hospital in legal harm’s way. Everyone wants to make out Big Administrator (Black Lady 2) as some sort of bad person, but she’s the only only one who remotely seems to mention Natapsycho needs to be sanctioned, although she doesn’t do anything either. On another front, it’s comforting to see that Psych Doc still appears to have no patients or responsibilities beyond hanging out in the ER every minute of his shift.
  24. Not entirely true. I know some JW since kids. They definitely do not accept blood, we have had the conversation many times. When Will started his dismissive attitude about this I couldn’t imagine my friends wishes being disregarded in that manner. However, my friends believe strongly in participating in civic action, voting, etc, as well as “rendering Caesars what is his” re: taxation.
