  1. I don’t blame everyone but Mia for her choices. Pearl crying in the car as Mia spends year after year dragging her from town to town — that’s on Mia, not everyone around her. And while they didn’t explicitly explain Mia’s anger, I would imagine it developed over the years as anger towards herself for the shitty choices she made.
  2. I thought his point on the New Rules was simply that illnesses have been named after locations for many, many years, so why all fake outrage over this one?
  3. What a despicable, racist character Mia is. I have zero sympathy for her. She IS a horrible mother who just wants total control over her daughter. And the faces she makes....she has a constant sneer on her face. Ugh. Of course May Ling belongs with her mother. Painful as it may be, they should just bring her back to her mother. And Izzy is a mean-spirited, nasty teenager; no wonder she’s drawn to Mia.
  4. Lexi absolutely treats Pearl abominably. True, Pearl has a “doormat tendency”, but that doesn’t excuse Lexi’s behavior. I know some very intelligent women who have Pearl’s tendency. I think because it would never occur to them to treat someone with such narcissistic motives, they just don’t see it in others. I understand wanting to protect your daughter, but Mia’s response to Lexi was emotionally abusive. Lexi is a teenager; Mia’s response was as self-serving as Lexi’s use of Pearl’s name. Instead, she should teach Pearl how to pause and think about the red flags she’s seeing in Lexi’s “friendship”. Jamie’s little speech at the end was also horrific. Unless it turns out Jamie did something so awful, and it just might, it was cruel. If he can’t stand her that much, why go out with her at all? To see if she changed? C’mon. So we are seeing that privilege and entitlement doesn’t get anybody anywhere. To those outside looking in, it’s a source of envy and resentment. To those inside it their whole lives, the material things do not guarantee the things that really matter, like happiness. The grass is always greener, and all that.

    S03:E10: All In

I never would have thought Darlene would become of my favorites. Well, this episode certainly made up for the last one.
  6. They wasted way too much time on Ben. Geez, even I wanted him gone. I felt like the episode was a time-filler. And I might have more patience with the FBI lady storyline if it wasn’t all used up on Ben.
  7. I think that may be largely spin. For example, he didn’t mean wear your racism as a badge of honor, he said let them call you racist, xenophones, nativists, wear it as a badge of honor. His meaning being if they need to resort to name-calling, know that comes from a place of weakness. Big difference in interpretation there.
  8. The one thing I like about Bill is his willingness to put on the “other” side. I like that he listens. I LOVED that he called Romney out, instead of being a kiss ass Democrat. Thank you, Bill. I was disappointed that Gillum felt it necessary to say he needed his brain cells to recover after Bannon. I found it silly...your brain cells die when you listen to a differing opinion? Bannon may be buffoonish, but a politician should be able to hold on to his brain cells while listening to him.
  9. It has become clear that every show is required to foster racism, particularly among white people. Not a show goes by without some reference to white racism. It must truly have been handed down to all writers as a requirement. Oh, well.
  10. I am so tired of all these major network shows forcing this white racism on us. Every time a show does it, I remove it from my DVR schedule. There’s hardly anything left. All I have coming up is Master Chef.
  11. Whew, how many liberal agendas can they throw at us in one season? I am very thankful they got away from that violence is OK as long as it helps you get your self-righteous way. I am drawn to this show as one would if witnessing a train wreck.
  12. Speaking for myself, I would hate any show that tries to “educate” politically, unless it was done with facts and honesty. These shows are so full of shit it’s amazing, and they are ALL taking the same stand, knowing the current political climate will allow them to get away with pushing bullshit. And, like Field of Dreams, viewers will come.
  13. You know, maybe you have found the answer as to why this show is portraying everything about this family in an absurd, unrealistic way. Maybe this is just another show trying to shove the current political climate down our throats, insinuating white people are all entitled and stupid.
  14. Sigh....another show trying to shove some political agenda down our throats. One by one, I am removing all of them from my DVR schedule. This one has been cancelled anyway, so it doesn’t matter. Pretty soon, network TV will be so radicalized politically that there will be nothing left for me to watch. I refuse to watch anything that is trying to sway people’s political beliefs, usually with misinformation and “yellow journalism”. I will go straight streaming and save a bundle.
  15. YES! Why, why, this lazy writing, unbelievable scenes, characters all of a sudden morphing into people of different character. Jamie, who over the years became a relatable, likable, man of honor, goes back to being a one-note asshole. Dany, they even made it hard to look at her face at times. Such a pathetic setup to her downfall. Arya, c’mon why isn’t she dead? If she were meant to be alive, write her story arc better! Jon, well, I will always like Jon. They can’t stop me. Nuff said. Sansa was notably absent. The next Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.........?
  16. That episode was such a disservice to the series. I thought episode 2 was a time filler, but this one was so much worse. There were so many holes. I cannot see them making up for it in just 2 more episodes.
  17. Is part of the whole “let’s show with realism how difficult it is for women to age” the reason why Sam is in a constant battle with her hairbrushes and why she has let her ends dry out? And, any mother who commands such little respect from her daughters should expect prostitutes, drug addicts, and grandchildren to care for until the day she dies. Sam should have taken everything off the table and thrown it in the garbage bin. Then she should have grabbed that brat by the hair and thrown her out the door. Then she should have looked threateningly at the others enough so that they all ran out like the little twits they are. And the three giving that performance? Just 3 more brats who are “teaching” their parents. Just 3 more brats who aren’t being given enough. Just 3 more brats calling everyone else entitled, as a cover for their own feeling that they should be entitled to everything they want.
  18. Oh damn, another show that started out so good, and ended up all about people fighting each other on a personal level, with bad writing, bad storylines, and total BS. Just like Suits, The Good Fight, and a lot more I probably never watched. i give it a few more weeks before they start getting political, in a last-ditch ratings grab.
  19. I haven’t laughed watching Bill Maher since Obama was President, and he nailed the Fox News “bubble” of unreality so on the head. But, that ASMR bit was hysterical. Every look on his face, every delivery of the lines... the whole bit had me laughing, really laughing, like I haven’t since Trump got elected. Kudos to everyone that had anything to do with that bit. And Bill, if you’re listening....Oprah wouldn’t win. She wouldn’t get the swing voters - those who don’t always vote their party line. Those voters didn’t want to vote for Trump, they just couldn’t stand the alternative.
  20. Sorry, I copied it from your post, which I now see was a year ago, where you quoted the person saying it.
  21. I am a big fan of Taylor Swift. I started out not being particularly impressed, but years ago I saw her being interviewed and couldn’t help but think what an intelligent young woman she was. I’ve been a fan ever since. Ariana Grande...everything about her screams spoiled, entitled little brat. Her song didn’t help. I love Tori Kelly. Loved seeing Justin Hartley. He’s just adorable. Madonnna, Madonna, Madonna.....the eyepatch? And I never thought she could dance. But she sure looks good. And I did like the “illusions”. Paula Abdul’s age is showing...not the dynamo she used to be. Still pretty incredible, though.
