  1. Chrisley Knows Best Is Coming Back — and Chase and Savannah Are Getting Their Own Show!
  2. It's not only the drug commercials, but I noticed restaurants like Applebee's, Chilis, etc are doing this. Even Walmart regularly panders to songs that would have been popular with today's current parents. Yet they show kids and teens jamming to it.... sigh...
  3. Is it just me or does it seem like Bridget has ramped up the jokes, puns and quips in recent seasons? I can recall her throwing in something funny occasionally with Bow Tie, but in current seasons it's as if she's half doing stand up when she's not the one actually doing the cooking. Have they ever explained what their process is for testing and perfecting the recipes and how they finally come up with the "perfect" recipe? They often talk about eating the leftovers from the testing or the dozens upon dozens of variations they tried. I'd really love to see the basic method they use.
  4. The lady doing the "call me" thing confuses me every time I see it. Does she want the Almond Joy? Is she into the guy? He's the one getting the call so it just does not make sense. I'm wondering if there is a longer version in which the whole thing makes sense.
  5. I'm over the raunchy, gross condom commercials that feature the long curly-haired dude with the 70's porn mustache advising millennial singles and couple about which condom to use based on their situation. WHO finds this crap helpful? I mean it's slightly funny the first time you see it, but after that, it's just cringy and gross.
  6. I find "Captain Obvious" for hotels.com quite annoying. He needs to go to Bora Bora with Mr Badda Book Badda Bing and never come back. The Trivago guy can join them for a while.
  7. I totally forgot to mention that! Her hair constantly distracts me. I can't say that it looks bad, but like you said, at first glance, it appears as if it's all long and just sprayed back and put into a bun or french twist, but then you realize it's short in the back! She's had multiple variations of the same style over the years, so it must be her "thing". I keep wondering if she's trying to hide something as I knew a lady who though her ears were ugly so she always wore the same style with slight variation for 30+ years. Yes it's totally shallow, but you can't help but notice when they do constant 5 second reaction shots. Bridget has very pretty hair and it's nice when she changes it up rather than just wearing the standard ponytail. On this most recent season there is an episode where they must have brought in a new make-up artist because both Julia and Bridget have excessive eye make up on. I'm almost positive Bridget was wearing false eyelashes.
  8. So is Farmhouse Rules officially cancelled or what? It makes sense now that Nancy is a judge on the competition shows, in Food Network's eyes, she no longer needs a show.
  9. OMG I just remember another commercial that is playing in my area that just grates. I can't recall the exact name, but it's for a CPAP cleaner and it just goes on and on with various testimonials from people that came from the back woods of the deep south. One is a female nurse, who exclaims that she should have known better and it never dawned on her that she might be breathing in bacterial-filled gunk all night long. Then there's another guy who pronounces "sanitized" in such a glorious way, that's really all you hear.
  10. I finally was able to watch the Hawaii trip and could barely control myself enough for them to actually get to Hawaii. The scripted flight connection drama was too much. There were enough adults in that group to handle the quints, yet they are running around like a heard of chickens. What happened to the colored leash? It appeared that the resort was on the big island, so they either flew to Hilo, Kona or Waimea-Kohala airports. The gate agent would not have said "Final call for flight 2828 to HAWAII", she would have announced the actual city/airport name. Totally staged. The weather seemed quite overcast most of the time they were there, the resort didn't seem to be booming with activity either. I'm glad Mimi stayed behind. Dale is easy on the eyes, but they really should subtitle him more often. I can't understand 3/4ths of what he says because it seems like he has a mouth full of marbles. Either the editors did a poor job or Adam changes his clothes every half-hour. I liked how Danielle shut down Adam wanting to talk about his fake job-quitting while on vacation, but then she gossips with her sisters about it? Do these people live in some alternate universe where parents need to with their kids 24/7? Couldn't at least ONE adult tell Adam to man-up and that being a parent means you might miss some activities or milestones in your kids lives? Or why not tell the truth and just say "I'm quitting because we can financially make things work from publicity"..... apparently the truth is the biggest no-no in the reality-TV industry. What is that teaching the kids?
  11. Why are there so many annoying commercials these days? I think they really always were quite annoying, but my TV viewing habits have changed. I tend to keep one channel on to watch program "marathons" thus the commercials repeat for hours which make them 20 times for annoying. I wish the advertisers and broadcasters would change things up and do at least different versions of these commercials. I live where people come to die, so every other commercial is for a medicare health care plan.
  12. I wasn't sure where to put this, so I figured here would be as good as anywhere else. Today on TVLand (or METV or similar), I was watching the episode where Andy & Barney arrest a peddler for selling out of his truck without a permit. I believe Don Rickles played the peddler. Anyway, there was a scene where they were shouting and arguing in the street with many town folk watching. All the men and most of the ladies were wearing hats, including the peddler. Of course this was very common in the 50's but I realized that Andy himself almost never wore a hat neither in or out of uniform. In this same scene, Barney was wearing his police hat, but I don't think Andy ever wore one. Did AG just not like hats????
  13. Late to the discussion here. I actually like this show. CK seems much more comfortable since he's in total control. The format rather bugs me perhaps because I am used to seeing CK in the predictable ATK/CC format, but as I watch more and more episodes it's growing on me. I do like the more international slant to the food. I agree that the chefs seem stiff and don't have much chemistry with CK.
  14. I finally saw a CC episode in the new studio and I agree that it seems way too tiny. Not a fan of the new music either, I suppose it will grow on me. It obvious they are slowly making changes from the Chris Kimball version, which means it's becoming quite different from ATK. I really wish they would tag-team the recipes instead of one cooking for the other. It's like they want to emulate the style of Jacques cooking for Julia (Child), but it doesn't really flow well with most of this cast. Having watched the majority of shows over the years, here is my opinion of the current staff: Julia - love her as she's obviously quite competent and doesn't give off any obnoxious "celebrity chef" shtick or vibes. Bridget - I can relate to her the most. She seems like just a really good home cook. I agree that she needs to open up a thesaurus once in a while. Jack - I don't hate him, but he seems as sketchy as Chris, something about him just isn't warm & fuzzy. Tim - I haven't seem enough of him to form a strong opinion. He's certainly competent but often boring and flat. Becky - She's the clone of Iola Boylen from Mama's Family or the Home Ec teacher from High School. Fun to watch. Lisa - I'm surprised they use her. I guess they needed some sort of filler, but most of the time I have no use for her gadgets. Erin - Not a fan. She seems bitchy. Like a high-maintenance sister-in-law you're forced to get along with. Adam - He's OK. On some episodes I wish he'd dial it back a bit and speak slower. I also wish they'd show mroe clips of the testers doing the testing on the products and not just him blathering on and on about what they did and what happened. Elle - Who could hate her? I think I could spend hours cooking and baking with her. She's very relaxing to watch. Dan - Too nerdy. I get it, that's his thing, but it's not mine. I can tolerate his segments. I think I missed a few, like the other two ladies who have similar voices, but one is more ginger and sounds like they pulled her out of the nearby Kindergarden classroom. Also, the hunky guy they sometimes show on CC is more arm candy than anything else. I can't remember his name at the moment. I never really paid much attention to the amount of dishes they use, but most of those recipes make HUGE quantities. More than half the time I cut the recipe in half.
  15. The main characters have definitely evolved a bit as actors in the second season. Esther more so than Benji. He always seems like he's just doing stand up. Any news for a third season yet?
