  1. “MasterChef: United Tastes of America” will not air on Wednesday, July 26 (8:00 p.m. ET/PT). The FOX cooking competition judged by Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez, and Joe Bastianich is being preempted for the FIFA Women’s World Cup."

Gordon's "mentoring" style is reprehensible - yelling and screaming, belittling people, throwing food.  I know that's his shtick on these shows but I'll never understand why he wants to represent himself that way.

His (Gordon's) M.O. is not mentoring, as it borders on bullying. Temper tantrums are reserved for "bratty children." And JB is no better with his pompous attitude, questioning them like he's a Gestapo interrogator.

I didn’t realize the first episodes were airing tonight until just now. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

. . . . and it is on for two hours tonight. Then I understand it will air twice a week on Fridays and Sundays at 8 pm ET.

The other one is the BBQ champion. Of course, he’s going to nail the protein every time, but those contests are all meat and only meat (not even a sandwich).  He better up his game on sides and plating (perfect smoke ring gets you no points here, bud). What will he do when he has to bake a cake or, (gasp) present a perfect box of macrons?

I said almost the exact same thing to my wife when they were doing the elimination rounds. GMTA!

I was happy to see Amanda leave.  I didn't like her attitude - or her eyelashes.  And she was wearing heels in the kitchen.

With her attitude, it was obvious that she'd be the first one out. She probably shouldn't have been given an apron.

That was one of the most obvious eliminations in recent memory. Did they even say anything good about her tacos?

Also, not sure if I like the twist of saving the whole team. Seems like an easy to keep bigger personalities, but worse cooks on the show.

Yes, as Mr. Obnoxious Risotto is the first one to be rewarded by the twist.

The biggest one, to me, was the Smoke Monster! lol.  I thought, are they joking?  Lol.

What other Lost flashbacks did you see?

Yes, the smoke monster was the most obvious. Then when they landed and went through the door into the brightness reminded me of the last scene on LOST when Jack and his father entered the room with all the other LOSTies sitting and waiting for him.

Immediately after the finale I re-watched the pilot, making the last scene of the finale even better.

Just re-watched the pilot (after the finale) and it made the series more understandable, although I still don't fully comprehend the Daly issue.

  8. Totally underwhelming.

The suit guy reminded me of Corbin Bernsen; and boy, he was so full of himself.

The Cambodian guy looks like an early front runner.

The woman with the giggle just irked me.

Two down two to go. I wonder who the next two guest judges will be?

I'm watching it now (on demand) and frankly it is boring. They are running through so many contestants in such short times that we don't know anything about them and can't really care which ones get in and which ones don't. The food doesn't look or sound interesting to me, and as mentioned above, I believe they are going for high visibility "characters", and lots of "background color and stories". A lot of the judges' comments remind me of the old fashioned "magic eight ball" which predicted the future by randomly showing trivial and inane "futures", just a set of boiler plate cliches. Maybe the show will get better when they shrink the field down to a manageable number?

They could/should eliminate the apron competition and just proceed with whomever and start the actual match. I really don't care about the next three weeks' regional apron competition.

I wouldn't be happy with this anyway, but especially at this time of such high antisemitism it's disturbing that they made such a point of making the murderous kid and his family so Jewish for no apparent plot-related reason. When they did something similar on Law and Order years ago, having the parents send the kid to Israel, it was an important plot point. Here though it was just another way of highlighting hey, these rich folks who paid off the DA to protect their kid are Jewish. Really gross and uncool, FBI:MW.

    THIS ↑

I too noticed the emphasis on the perp being Jewish.  Then saw no reason why.
