  1. Srsly tho. Wasnt that one of the parishoners he locked out and left to die?
  2. "Bitches get stitches." ~ Rick 'Old Man' Grimes
  3. Boo... Jerrys off the market :(
  4. They give them handicapped horses to ride?
  5. Maggie breaks horses. Could there be a bigger thump on a head.
  6. I seriously doubt shed waste bullets killing those POWs, or poison them by turnip
  7. I think they did the well stunt in order for Maggie to tell Glenn his friends were using him. Because Glenn wasnt always being put into danger by the group. The disporportionate amount of being put into danger was happening to Rick and Shane, from what I remember. And Maggie had no right to say any of that,a nyway. She knew Glenn and the rest of them for a blip in time. Im not sure I remember what the 'Beth who?' referred to, other than maybe she was only concerned on finding Glenn, post prison collapse, and I dont recall her worrying about her sister. Which was weird. Beth was just another character sacrificed on the alter of Glaggies Sacred Love. It's more of how Rick always threw the eyes to Maggie, even back as far as Alexandria *before* there was a Richonne. It's like Michonne always got a backseat to Maggie, and there was no real good reason for it. She was more mature and competent. I never understood why Maggie was talked up to be potential great leader. She was in a Rick n Glenn bubble, I dont even recall her interacting much with therest of her own group. I really dont know whos the idiot who casts these Fear shows, but they love shitty hasbeen comedians. Brett Butler, Mo Collins, Jenna Elfman. Yuck. Who especially decided that Butler needed back on a vehicle? Didnt she sexually abuse some kid on her show? I know there was something about making him touch her breasts, IIRC. There are tons of actors to choose from, but they picked at least these three examples, who were lousy at comedy and are even worse at acting. In other words, she was getting set to kill them all, anyway. So yeah; what happened to the gallows? Or was she just going to give them poisoned turnips? Rick and Morgan did her dirty work for her. It's obvious that they werent framed in a good light in the show, for doing it. So maybe this is all fruition. Maggie the selfish judgmental person is now Maggie the selfish judgmental leader, whos going to end up taking over. Yes. And this is whats so disheartening about this show. That they not only bastardize the characters, but rewrite the history of the shows that they not even that long ago wrote. And its not just the in-world history. It's the freaking history of the human race, as well. How were they even getting by? On the Cult of Rick?
  8. If it is, it's even more dipshitty to hang a person on a newly constructed building, than to build a gallows. Just goes to show that Maggies doesnt care all that much about democracy and justice at all, or she would have waited. To at least talk to Richonne, who would have told her about a thing they want to draw up called a charter.... Nope; shes big-pantsing it, instead. Showing everyone who's the boss, unilaterally. I could have swore Maggie was talking about killing the POWs at the same time as all the gallows are going to go up! stuff, but you know, this shit is so stupid and convoluted, and hard to see onscreen, and too inconsistent to follow, that its nearly impossible to know much of anything on this show anymore.
  9. She wasnt asked to go get the pill for Lori, so it wasnt Lori's fault that she almost got killed. Furthermore, it was pure chance that she didnt get killed on her last pharmacy run, while she was boffing Glenn. If Maggie had had misplaced anger at Lori like you suggested, that still would have made her much less of an asshole than for the REAL reason she was mad at Lori. And who in the hell acts like that to another human being, let alone one who almost had her on die just hours ago, in either scenario?? Only the worst kind of asshole, in either scenario. All of this is a two fold problem, though, because as shitty as the character of Maggie is, thereare people behind the portrayal -TPTB- that thought this was all ok, and tacitly sanctioned, the treating of the Lori character this way. Not one character was shown as sympathetic to her dilemma. A dilemma that every women of age in the audience should have been able to relate to and been sympathetic as well as some being empathetic, because you know, women DO have to makes choices like these every day, every hour; and not even in a hellish ZA. Not one character. But one character was able to treat her like complete shit: Maggie. With no consequences. With no apology. Lori was crucified for being a woman who ha to contemplate whether or not to go through with a pregnancy in a hopeless disease and deathridden hellscape, and Maggie was built up to be this virtuous, sexy wonder girl (who of course has sex with a nerd. I mean why would she be attracted to Shane, for example? Riiight.; lolz.) The way Maggie treated Glenn in Season 2 was also horrible, and a lesser complaint I had of the character. Maggie is just an asshole, when it's unwarranted. She was acting this way to a very mild personality; it didnt make any sense, at all, and came off as weirdly abusive. She initiated sex with him. Then tells him afterward that his 11 condoms that are left are just potentially 11 mins of her life shed never be able to get back. Calls him Walkerbait and does a Lady Macbeth, telling him hes a leader and all of his friends are using him. Expects him to not tell his friends (shes's known him mere days) about the walkers in the barn which endanger them all, even a kid (guess Maggie only cares about fetuses and doesnt give a shit about the welfare of actual children). Then gives him the childish silent treatment and puts an egg in his hat and smashes it on his head. If someone had done that as an out of character thing over a less important issue, it mightve been funny. But by now, we know her as a hypocritical religious bigot, bully and asshole, so its just more shitty behvior from her to another person, outside of her group. Maggie's corrosive character drags down Glenn over time, too. He becomes pathetic when their love is built up into some holy thing --that the audience has to suffer through. She's rapebait. He becomes an asshole because of manly guilt or whatever was written like it was a tv othe week movie from the 1970s...by the time they get to Alexandria, lenns insufferable and has lost any sense of humor or proportion, just like Maggie. Now theyre one entity, and the people around them have had to suffer in one way or another, for their special loooooove. That accent Cohan does is so awful, and after 8, 9 years, there is NO excuse in the book for it to not have gotten better. Make fun of Lincoln's all you want , but her's is SO awful, that its in its own weird category : she moves her lips, and the sounds emerge after a slight lag. Watch. She strains her lips in a really odd manner, pushing them into a wide weird configuration, and THEN the sounds come out. Its the weirdest fucking thing, and SO annoying... I think you also asked what it was that Maggie has done to deserve a leadership position? I also have no clue. Except they started portraying HER as the natural leader of the group alongside RIck, which feels wrong on SO many levels. Anyone with eyes can see that Michonne is the most responsible, levelheaded, fair, rational, to9ughest person, hands down. OVER Rick. She stepped up to be a police officer in Alexandria because it needed to be done. She stepped in and clobbered Rick when it looked like he might actually murder someone or was acting like a threat, at least), shes been consistently right abut things. YET, we constantly see Rick nodding over to Maggie, as if shes he's equal in leadership, and not Michonne. Ive found this odd and dismissive, at once, and figured its lame storytelling in order to get her to be leader of Hilltop. But Carol has more sense than Maggie, More everything more than Maggie, too. MAggies been a consistently selfish character, and she's been manipulative from the farm on down to the present. It makes no sense to me, either, why rudimentary laws have not been put down. Why decrees havent been written by the rulers /committee , by now. Why Saviors havent been prosecuted. Why conquered citizens havent been given jobs to work in the food production and on labor, and why they havent been relocated from the factory to be near their new jobs, and to go through some sort of reeducation and brought slowly into the communities. Why havent allied forces been put in charge of metal works (why would you give the conquered people the means to make weapons?). Why wouldnt anyone take umbrage at Maggie acing like she is in fact queen of shit mountain and has no one to answer to, all of a sudden? Rick has no reply to her telling him that he has to follow her now? Michonne? She hangs the former gov, but not everyone knows because young kids are running around there, and she dgaf. If Maggie and Darryl wanted justice for Glenn (and Abraham? ANd Shasha, Olivia, and everyone else?), why have they not talked and talked and talked about it in the 18 or so months since? Im sure that they have a mail system set up between the colonies, right? Its such a contrived fight with no supports to it, because the damn PTB are incapable of writing them in. This is just more of the same "bastardization" of this complete show and characters. Just more bad writing. Nothing has changed, other than Negans not onscreen anymore. That's not a big enough improvement. You're welcome to love her all you want. Not everyone has too. Thats whats wonderful about a forum. It takes all kinds of opinions. Some of us, brother, ARE the Sioux.
  10. And the thing is, I like Jeffery Dean Morgan. I think hes a decent actor. I even enjoy some of his Negan portrayal. I think hes done better than another lesser actor could have done, given what he has from the written work and direction. But it doesnt fit in this show, and it is a sorely made miscalculation. THe fault lies with the tonedeaf PTB. Cohan is nowhere near where she needs to b to pull off even a well-written character, in her acting , so she's sunk.
  11. Thank you; Ohwell. Re the "theyre building a new building: When did they ever mention they were building "a new building," and explain that was what it was? Because I dont remember hearing it, and I cant tell on my screen from the shots they used that it was a "new building" and not a gallow. or a gallow at the front of a new building. The fact is, they DID say they were building a gallow for the POWs. Its just more o the bullshittery with this show.
  12. I thought they were building a gallow complex to hang all the POWs they had during the war? Wasnt Maggie building that? Didnt Jesus come outside the fence where they were sitting and tell the Colombo-impersonating POW that, last season? So where did that go? Also who in their right mind hangs someone from a beam in a new buildiing? There are plenty of trees and other structures around t hang someone from rather than a building or home. That's pretty ghastly .
  13. Lol! Touring the new building: "And here we have the sun room/gallows."
  14. No; this happened a ways before they found out that her and her family were keeping their walker family members in the barn. Eendangering everyone -including Lori's son who just escaped death. So this was before they opened the barn and before her sister BethAnne or whatever went on suicide watch, after being in shock. At this point, Maggie was mad at Lori because, as a super-selfrighteous christian and hypocrite, she did not approve of the morning after pill and that Lori was thinking of aborting her fetus.l And so Maggie, being Maggie, felt entitled to pass her judgment on Lori and attack her, in the nasty way that she did. THAT was what was up her ass when she threw the pills and yelled at Lori. And that makes Maggie a Grade A asshole. It was none of her damned business. She made a scene at the pharmacy when Glenn showed her that he was looking for morning after pills. She got mad and said, 'Youve got to be kidding me.' As if her screwing Glenn in the previous trip to the pharmacy was a no-brainer and had no potential for consequences, condom or not, and no potential scenario where hard decisions had to be made about carrying a baby in the ZA, were ever possible. Why the Maggie character ever got a pass for that behavior is beyond all reason, and personally, I originally quit this series, then. Hate Lori all you want ( and I admit, I didnt like the character/actress) but that whole arc on her being pregnant (as well as her 'infidelity' to a dead husband /Kirkman can eat it) , was open season on her, and on all women in extension, with the way this was handled on this show. It was hands down the most vile this show has ever been to a character, while simultaneously allowing the worst behavior from Maggie to go without comment or apology to Lori , and all women by extension. As if it was simply OK to treat a woman in Lori's situation that way. Lori was the only one entitled to decide on whether to carry the fetus inside her, or not. And to decide to tell anyone, or not, including Rick. No one else gets to comment on it, shame her, try to guilt her, yell at her or judge her. And they should never dare to take a higher moral ground, after they do. Most characters on this show have been 'punished' for far worse attitudes and offenses than Maggie's, and it was a real slap in the face to any women viewers, in how egregious and offensive it was played out onscreen. Lori didnt ask Maggie to do anything for her, or give her any orders. Lori was in a bad situation and asked her friend, Glenn, if he could help her out by picking up the pill at the pharmacy. She didnt "order" him to do it, and he already knew where the pharmacy was, he didnt need Maggie to go with him. Ive totally blanked on this, then. I cant even remember a scenario where they would find this, and if any comment was made on it, or why not?
  15. Danai is beautiful with natural hair, or even shaved (Black Panther). The dreads cover half her face in shadow most of the time. Im sure th e actress loved her part, but she got dealt a bad hand. It wasnt until the scene with Lennie James after the car accident that you can tell she's a pretty good actress, and they plyed off each other well, there. There was something a bit more genuine going on there, than her usual one-note schtick (which was all that was written for her, really). For a brief glimmer there I could see maybe how the idea of this character could have beem interesting , had it been thought out at all, and put into a smaller scope. As it was though? It was an annoying waste of time, thanks to TPTB.
  16. They have done something positive, in that order: they took out career slimeball and politician, Gregory. Someone said that the character was unbelievable because he has no motive other than greed and corruption. And that is precisely what makes him all too real. The real deal US government is only as far as you have to look. Gregory looks like a shinier, more compassionate version of them. Good riddance!
  17. Why wasnt Arat imprisoned, like Negan? She chose to kill Olivia. And it was out of malice. As someone else has said previously, NONE of Negans arm should be free. THAT is what a scaffold is for: conquering sadistic murderers and then meting out justice. Or were the Allied forces wrong to do so after WW2? The extenuating circumstances here are that these murders were far more personal and intimate that in a broad war. Nothing pushed these underlings of Negan to be as sadistic and brutal as they were. Thats them; not a role they play, and therefore they cannot be changed from immoral to all of a sudden having a conscience. That's pure fantasy. As for Maggie saying about the hanging, "This is not the beginnig of something. I dont want to do it again," she is lying through her teeth. Putting aside that she wants Negan dead, she built a huge gallows complex.
  18. This might be giving too much to the writers' brainpower, but maybe they named him Hershel because didnt Hershel believe in not killing people, and Maggie seems to be ok with it? In fact she said she wasnt "ashamed." Not very Christian like , at all. Evidently, Maggie only thinks it's murder when a fetus is aborted. She cant die off too too soon, for me. When was that?! There was that woman tied to the tree and supposedly had been tortured a couple seasons ago. That went nowhere. That was the unsettling part, because from the corpse it didnt look like it had happened all that long ago. But they just ...didnt bother to resolve it, which was gross of them . Dead horse? Oh well. Dead tortured woman tied to a tree? Oh well, that sells.
  19. It is telling and shameful that Cohan was given a good line ('you cant even kill anyone right' ) and could not deliver it, but the actor playing Gregory brought the sauce to his lines. I did think she had a good demeanor going when she was talking to Rick, but she could not land her last lines to him. I will say though, its was vague and clunky writing. But a lot of writing on this show is, and better actors have pulled them off ("Look at the flowers, Lizzy" couldnt be more cheesey as written down, but McBride nailed it).
  20. Its like shes the fucking Virgin Mary of this show, that no one can say anything critical about the character or the actress. Both have been a canker sore from the beginning. And Im not being singleminded here, I thought the same about Shane and the actor that played him. To a lesser degree, because a good actor could have played the Shane character, which was more compelling that Maggie has ever been, so much better. Sometimes a good actor is in a bad role. We can see it throughout the flip flopping characterizations of Morgan and Carol. When they are given the work, they can shine. When they are constantly hit over th ehead with dumb shit, they are struggling through it like we are watching them. But when the actor is sucky, forget it. Youve ruined the character just by hiring them; they cannot rally, even with the juicy bits theyve been handed, here and there. Theyve even aged him with that awful brush cut and did the actor gain wright or is that padding? Its like , 'Lets reduce him down to a crappy version of himself ,so people arent too sad he's gone.'
  21. The thing is, he can still out act a lot of actors on the cast, and that's why he was so enjoyable. Youve got damned CORE characters like Lauren Cohan who are still dismal at acting, and then when they are up against someone who can, they look even worse. AND he could be funny. He could be funny, which is also something Cohan has never been able to do. What core character has been as dismally unfunny as Maggie? Everyone has had their moments, but not her. Now the actor Xander , who plays Greg, actually does sound like a sleazeball, when you see how he was asking teenagers on Twitter for nudes, just disgusting and stupid as hell. I thought that kid was that bland actor from the "13 Reasosns" show on Netflix. That kid is a complete throwback to the awful 80s teen actors. Just BLAND af, and unwatchable. The fact that they are still writing these red shirts in and playing them up with (usually Maggies?) tears, still means this show is POORLY WRITTEN. Take a note, Kang.
  22. i dont blame her either. it just fit in very well with the Old West theme we were hit over the head with. Not sure if they were going for an Old West theme when they shot up at the gallows, or trying to convince us that Maggie is just a homesy old timey sheriff, or just bloodthirsty, though. I do find myself wondering why, like her lousy Georgia accent, this actress cannot, after 8 years, deliver a line for her life. And I dont get where she has the balls to say to Rick, 'You said you were gonna follow me and you didnt." Im sorry? I thought he was complimenting her. Not handing over his queen's scepter. She didnt get her way. Which, coming from her and her tantrums, seems like revenge, and not justice. Just like Rick, she doesnt get the sole say over whether a person lives or dies. In fact, Rick being the defacto leader that all of them, even her, looked up to, at the point of conquest, it actually IS his decision to make, whether Negan lives or dies. So NOW, she's TELLING him that he HAS to follow her? I dont get that. It makes no sense, conversationally, when he was not even given a reply to her declaring herself Leader. You know how you get that role? By force. That is the only way. Grimes got Negans rule through force. If Maggie wants to get Ricks role she can try to bully him out of it, or she has to kill or banish him. So is that where it's going? Because just kill her stupid ungrateful ass of a character now. Her character should have been dead the moment she threw the 'slut pill' at Rick's wife and basically called her, this woman she knew nothing about except that her SON ALMOST DIED just a few days before, a 'babykiller.' Maggie has been sold as a male nerds wetdream. A nubile sexpot who's got a steely reserve. Puh-lease. It's been a selfish character. She's been a selfish ass from beginning, but its always been overlooked because of , what exactly?. HER family. HER farm. HER Glenn...etc. How many times has she endangered people for her selfishness? More than Lori ever did, that is for sure. And she's still being selfish. It wasnt her choice to take a life. She made it her SOLE decision. She is alive because of Grimes leadership, too, and because of the bravery of other non-selfish characters, like Carol, etc. When Glenn was killed and she was scraming that Rick needed to get the rest of the Alexandrians and move on the Saviors, which everyone could see would be a suicide mission, cooler heads prevailed. And somehow her ranting fit is supposed tobe seen as a virtue..?? So its been about 2 years past that, and all of her selfrighetous selfish bullshit hasnt even mellowed down to a dull shine, she just feels empowered to be an even bigger asshole. Great. That bun would be too high. Higher than a Conehead.
  23. It's like, let's have Rick Grimes be a career cop before the ZA...but have no mental concept of what justice actually is, and how it's based on the whole of society's welfare, not just what he or his kid thinks it should be.
  24. And even Coral's ex-gf (Edith? Edna? Ermine?) playing a damsel in distress: "Omg. Maggie." Bonk. Next seen attending the hanging in a wheelchair. Was she wrapped in a shawl, too; did I miss that?
