  1. Someone needs to tweet that to her.
  2. You know, after hearing they were going to start pulling this from syndication too, I was REALLY happy that I jumped into this century and got a DVR, so I could record them all off of LAFF to watch whenever I want. I did just that last night. Started watching over from OG Season 1 and it just didn't feel the same watching it anymore. That makes me incredibly sad because I NEVER thought I would say that. Loud mouthed bitch just couldn't keep her "Ambien" fueled fingers from her phone could she?
  3. Just as being a bigot will get your show C for Cancelled
  4. I just re-watched last night, and did not catch him saying loan.
  5. I loved this episode. It was the perfect ending. Something positive finally comes the Conner’s way. Having been thru a major flood, their reaction is spot on. It’s a relief that 10’s of thousands of dollars aren’t coming straight out of your pocket. Continue to love Becky and Darlene’s relationship. I hope to see more of this next season. Still don’t care about Harris. Loved the throw back to Halloween episodes. Speaking of throw backs, it really caught me how similar Darlene and Roseanne really are. Roseanne struggled with writing again in seasons of old too. I really would love for them to flesh that out more for Darlene next year. So, Mark’s playing soccer? Hope he doesn’t become sterile! I’ve loved this show for as long as I can remember. I’m just a little too young to have enjoyed it in its hay day, but I watch reruns so often I can name episodes and quote along with them. That being said, I’m overall happy, borderline impressed, with how this reboot went. There were some clunky moments, some very special episode feeling times and some horrible continuity, but I hope the kinks work out for a great next season.
  6. Windsurfing and satisfying her man Same episode: Roseanne was relating an embarrassing experience to Becky to help her thru her ordeal, one that Becky had heard plenty of times, someone stole Roseanne's diary and read it out loud. Who was it?
  7. It makes me long for the Lobo and the bowling alley. Some of their best episodes were at the Lobo, the Lodge, or the bowling alley.
  8. While I would have preferred to avoid the addiction storyline in general, the most logical choice was Roseanne being the addict. She has an incredibly addictive personality. Food, alcohol, Bingo, smoking. Adding drugs isn’t a stretch, just one I prefer they didn’t make. I appreciate the realness of it. I appreciate that it comes while we’re in a huge opioid crisis. I just want Roseanne to stick to the funnier stuff. Addiction can be a slippery slope to go down in sitcom-land. That said, I enjoyed the episode. I love Darlene and Becky’s bantering. Hearing them argue about adult things is much more interesting than when they were kids. They used to drive me batshit crazy. Crystal....looks.... awful. I’m going with either Ed being dead (not a stretch) or her divorcing him after being fed up with his being gone all the time. Either way, it was time to hang up the flapper costume. Jackie being a baby bird had me rolling! I’m with chocolatine, I wanted to see them live it up in the hotel room. Finally, something positive for them, only to be ripped away. I get why hotels do it, but that rule pisses me off too. Im sad that we’re nearing the end, but they’ve set up some decent storylines, and hopefully with more episodes to cover more storyline things keep up the trend they’re on. Random: going from watching the new episode to Laff to watch reruns is so freaking weird.
  9. Her book bag, because it broke. When Darlene, David, Becky and Mark are playing Scrabble, what word did they convince Mark was an abbreviation, making it not a word.
  10. Put a book in front of it. In the episode “Saturday” what was Dan’s punishment (Roseanne’s reward) if he didn’t have the truck running by 5?
  11. Took 3 guys to shove the asshole out the door. We all tried to apologize for his behavior. It was a horrible situation. I’d never been so embarrassed to live in this town.
  12. Ranks up there with my favorite of the season. This felt like a “real” Roseanne episode. I thought Michael Fishman did a fine job in this episode. I hope they give him more of a role like this next season. I think he had the perfect amount of screen time. Even in Roseanne of old he wasn’t a prominent character as he got older. As depressing as the subject matter was, I still found myself laughing out loud quite a few times. Darlene was back to her amazingly sarcastic self. Roseanne and Jackie’s sisterly banter. Jackie being way less wacky. I even enjoyed the kids, minus Harris. She’s trying too hard to be Darlene and failing horribly. I still find 0 redeeming qualities in her. Jackie’s “I have a mustache. I look like mom” killed me. I can appreciate why some of the subject matter and jokes associated would upset someone, but they didn’t me personally. I guess this is what I expect of Roseanne. They’ve always joked about touchy subject matter, and I didn’t expect the revival to be any different. Living in a small town like Lanford what that cashier said isn’t off base. Small towns have 0 tolerance and understanding of something different to them. For example: we have a gas station that is owned and operated by Muslims. The day it hit papers that we killed Osama Bin Laden someone came in that gas station, picked up the paper and started yelling “they got your boy! They got your boy!” The owner was absolutely mortified trying to explain how they were not associated with ISIS or Bin Laden. It was atrocious. So far it sounds like my UO is I really liked this episode.
  13. This. And this. I think they shot themselves in the foot by burning a week to show re-runs. I don't believe this is in a free fall yet, though. It was pitted against a NCIS episode that starts a story line of a main character leaving. That was obviously going to draw the larger crowd.
  14. I can't make heads or tails of this season. There are parts that I just love, but the lack of continuity is killing me. Roseanne used to be SO GOOD at continuity. I'm not even talking about the usual "what happened to Mark, why does Jackie have an apartment, what's cannon and what's not" type continuity. I can fanwank that all away pretty easily. I'm talking from one episode Jackie being fit to adopt Armani because she has a house (presumably) to now having a 2 bedroom apartment. I can guess WHY she has the 2 bedroom apartment, and the fact that Jackie has the 2 bedroom apartment vs. her house from the older seasons doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that literally 2 episodes later she went from being fit to adopt, to having a 2 bedroom apartment with no Armani. I want so badly to blame this on this season being thrown together in a hurry with no idea of whether it would be picked up for additional seasons. I can only hope that the next season irons out a whole lot nicer than this one has. I like it enough to be willing to give it that chance. I just don't know how many others will see it that way. I would be curious to know what a first time watcher thinks of everything. Most of us here are life long fans of Roseanne (the show.) That being said, as a life long Roseanne fan, and even though the nostalgia has worn off, I'm still committed to seeing this thing thru this run as well. Roseanne of old had episodes that fell flat (I cannot stand the Dream episode), and while this one didn't fall completely flat for me, it wasn't my favorite of the revival. What bothers me is that I can't pinpoint why. Things I liked: Dan being right in stating that just because you are creative doesn't mean it applies to all the work you do. He was 100% correct here, and I like that Darlene was put in her place by him about it. I imagine having to squelch Mark's creative side goes against everything Darlene feels, as she's always been creative herself. Good lesson for her to learn too. Maybe she got too creative in her old job. Christopher Lloyd is the best. "I would've mistaken them for your sisters" "Uncalled for Lou." Also, "Beverly, let's just get in the car and drive. All we need is a car." I'm sure someone has a DeLorean stored for you somewhere Doc. More Christopher Lloyd please. He's much better than Jake! Jackie toning it down more to normal Jackie level. There was a little Wacky Jackie there, but it was much more subdued and I loved it all the more! Showing Roseanne on an Uber run. I thought it was funny and I hope we have more. There is a lot of room here for potential funny moments. It was a nice change to see the girls sitting around playing poker instead of the men. The "I wanna do the dishes....no I wanna do the dishes!" cracked my ass up. It is blatantly clear that Sandra Bernhard needs to step AWAY from the cosmetic surgery. She looks awful. For as bad as Crystal looks, she actually makes sense. With the way her character was going towards the end of the original run, frumpy Crystal doesn't surprise me. Especially if Ed isn't around anymore. Becky chugging a beer after having to witness grandma doing it with some old guy. Hey, at least he took her out to dinner first! I'm still holding out a lot of hope that the next season picks up more steam, but as it stands now, Tuesday is still Roseanne day for me, I haven't missed an episode, and I've mostly enjoyed what I've watched.
  15. He was shot by a sniper. When Jackie caught Booker at the Lobo with another woman (who was obviously not his mother) what did she do to exact revenge?
  16. A for the many Argurments Dan and Roseanne had over the years.
  17. The Grateful Dead What is the name of the 2 stores mentioned by Becky and Dana in the episode where Dan takes Becky shopping to become closer to her.
  18. The corsage was blue and the dress pink, I believe. What song did Roseanne and the girls at a Wellman sing in “Workin’ Overtime”?
  19. Lorraine, and you wouldn't believe the kind of day she had! What did Bev think Jackie would name her baby if it was a boy?
  20. T for Tornado - which can be applied to either Becky and Dana making Tornadoes to get drunk, or the episode where a tornado rips thru Lanford.
  21. It doesn't look like another question was asked, so I'll ask a new one. What was the name of the episode where Dan visits Fisher because he beat the crap out of Jackie?
  22. I live in a very Lanford like town (not all that far from the the general area of fictional Lanford) and as soon as our Wal-Mart updated to a Super Center the last 3 small grocery stores we had went belly up within 2 years of its re-opening. Small stores can’t compete with China’s prices. Heh. I mentioned in the episode thread that while I wish it was still the Buy N Bag, it being bought out or closed by now is completely believable.
  23. Absolutely not. If you thought that Dan was too involved in telling David when he can and can't see his kids? Imagine this with Roseanne and Mark. She would go to the ends of the Earth to insure that Mark never saw those kids again. It would be interesting if the roles WERE reversed though. Dan was always warmer towards Mark than he was David. Roseanne was obviously warmer towards David. I would be MORE curious to see how Dan would react to Mark doing that, than how Roseanne would. We KNOW what Roseanne would do.
