I've actually been reasonably sure Jen was leaving since last autumn. There were SO many vibes pointing that way for me, it seemed inevitable. Also, having lived through the last season of The X-Files without David Duchovny, that made me realize how pretty much anything is possible if a network wants to continue a show.

Multiple actors have said that A&E pitched the show to them as six seasons. Then they and ABC decide they want more. I don't blame Jen or Gosh one single bit for not signing back up after they changed the "rules" on her.

Matt Mitovich said the announcement about Jen was coming today regardless of whether she posted what she did. Articles had already been written with A&E's quotes.

ABC misspelled Giles Matthey's last name. What a giant yawn of a retread of a finale.

Maybe S7 can just be killing him different ways, like Kenny on South Park! ;-) I do wonder how much Matt knows that he hasn't written? Is he basing Jen being key to the reboot solely on the contract negotiations and she was one of the four negotiating? Or does he know something more?

Apparently Matt Mitovich also said in his Facebook Live that Jen/Emma was supposed to be a key part of the reboot. So that wouldn't fit for either a prequel or Wishverse reboot. He also said he's interviewing Jen later today.

According to one of the set stalkers, a lot of the crew have already decided to leave regardless.

It also fits with the Wishverse if that Henry is aged up. Snowing and Belle are dead in it, and Emma went back to SB. But it could also be in the past.

Jen has said she will be back for ONE episode.

I'm actually really surprised the ratings didn't tick up a bit and actually fell. I thought they'd tick up to a 1.0. If they can't get viewers with all that promotion, how do they expect to lure back viewers for S7?

They really have set up the Wishverse perfectly for the actors they will have -- no Snowing or Emma there. They can even magic Old Hook into looking like current Hook. That realm's Henry would fit the description of the new guy -- he used to have hope/family/friends. And the little girl could be EQ and Robin's kid. They said she's from a broken home -- maybe Wish!Robin ditched them. I don't know if that's what they'll do, but it would fit.

It's the last season of The X-Files all over again. If ABC goes ahead with a S7 of Once, it's going to be a huge ratings and creative failure.

We also see the group in what appears to be Jefferson's hat room with doors to different realms. They probably try several ways to try to get back to SB.

I enjoyed the ep as a whole -- it made me happy, and it's been a LONG time since I could say that about an episode of Once. Though I do wish they had done some things differently -- way less EQ, more time devoted to Emma/Hook since it WAS their wedding ep. But they seem to have dropped all their caring about CS this season and have scenes for them simply because they have to. That said, the actors did wonderfully with what little time they were given for the wedding. But their relationship should have been much more a focus of the episode. It's truly magical. It really should have been the series finale, minus the curse. "A Happy Beginning" left me with such a happy, upbeat, satisfied feeling. That's how I want to be left feeling when shows I watch end. I'm sure nothing else they come up with will be remotely as satisfying. Hook's song was my favorite, followed by "A Happy Beginning." They both have stuck in my head like glue. I think Josh Dallas did the best of everybody, which isn't surprising given his background. WHY did they give Lana the most material when she was the weakest singer? (I know why.)

So according to Gosh, there's a twist at the end of the finale that could go either way as a series or season finale. It serves the characters well, most fans will be happy, some will be angry. Josh: "I think each character gets something that the fans should be happy with, that each character deserves." I hope whatever their "twist" is doesn't end up destroying the characters' happy endings that we see them getting. Also, I think Rumple "deserves" to die. I think the bigger love Ginny talks about to break the curse is Emma sacrificing herself, or at least her Savior-ness. Ginny: "I don't think that the wedding as the final episode of the season would have been as satisfying as what is to come for Emma. It's a really good storyline."

He was knocked out previously, but he's revived before the wedding. But he's clearly not invited!

Initial reports about the idea were NBC, but now it's indeed apparently ABC. So either it's a short season 7 for Once, it moves or it's cancelled (I figure one of the former two, though this Idol news is a bit of a curveball). Idol was generally two hours in the past, so that takes up more of their schedule.

"Revenge Is Gonna Be Mine" and "A Happy Beginning" are the catchiest IMO. I can't get them out of my head, the former especially. Total ear worm. Not sure I'll ever be able to see the word "revenge" without hearing the song in my head.

Same here. There has to be more characters around than just the new guy and the little girl. Will the rebooted cast be mostly new (cheaper) actors? Will current cast members be only occasional guest stars? Will one or two be regulars? Personally, I don't see more than a couple of current regulars being around much next season. There was way too much goodbye vibe from the cast and crew at the end of filming.

Exactly, that's a widespread problem on this show, not just with Hook. No hero is ever allowed to stand up for themselves anymore. They just have to react to and accept whatever the Villain Du Jour does. Instead of Badass Bandit Snow and Street Tough Emma from S1 who stood up to Regina, now heroes are meek and passive and just sit around waiting for their goodness to save them. It's a huge flaw of the writing. (One of many.)

Based on filming spoilers, Gidiot (hee, who came up with that name??) actually stabs Emma like in her vision. Then there's some sort of big effect (probably her Savior-ness being removed from her), she collapses, Henry runs up and kisses her on the forehead and she gets up. I never could find out any info about what happens to Gidiot after that. He seemed to disappear from the photos. There was some speculation that it was really Rumple disguised as Gidiot, but that was just spec.
