  1. Ha too late. Roku already renewed for next season. But I'm okay with that because of all US iterations, Roku finally cracked the formula. It's the best version of the show.
  2. Frank said it was his first partner. I don't think Bernard was his first partner. Maybe that's what they meant but Frank wasn't a new detective, I don't think. Some of the legal stuff and "being a cop is the best job in the world" stuff didn't land for me. I'd have a hard time believing they could get in the witness testimony with hearsay rules but have to exclude the fact that the defendant shot Frank until the defense opened the door. But I was worried JD would be leaving and because they're such a good duo, I want Cosgrove and Shaw to be around a while. However, since they're already filming the new season, I suspected he'd stay because I would think we would have heard of any departures already if it weren't the case.
  3. I don't think they, or their descendants, have made an appearance in the Bridgerton TV series yet but (vague book talk that isn't a spoiler but I'll still spoiler) But as for them in QC, I think they're just introducing them as part of the big experiment but that's all they've really told us so far.
  4. I had to stop at 14 since 15 is missing from On Demand. But once it airs this Friday, I'll be able to finish up the rest of the season--thankfully. I do not like watching a bit at a time. So take these opinions for what they are--missing the context of the last four episodes. Sure but what Kristi experienced was also a lot more serious than simply "bad service" from the church and the act of going to church felt like a dismissal of her concerns because it kind of was a dismissal of her experience. The testimony of her hurt wasn't enough for him. It's like a woman telling a male supervisor that another male coworker harassed her and having him respond "Jim? Jim hasn't been anything but awesome to me. I don't think he means anything by it. Ever consider you're being a little sensitive?" And I still don't think he quite gets it. Brock has expressed that he feels she still resents him for those five years and would prefer it be put in the past. If he had his way, I think he'd want to focus on examining the affair and the aftermath in their sessions while leaving those five years of unaligned churchgoing in the past because, hey, he left, right? On the other hand, to Kristi, you can't tell the story of her affair without those five years. I think you're exactly right about her motivations and I think she needs to admit that to herself. I don't think she knows what she wants and even if I think she has some real grievances, I couldn't tell you if I thought she wanted to stay together or not. I really didn't like Nadine and Christine's session where Christine asked Nadine to move out it somehow got to the point of comparing Christine trying to establish boundaries with what Nadine's parents did. But I did feel bad for Nadine's crisis. Still, there's something about her that needs intense personal therapy and there's part of me that finds her to be manipulative. Although since they're on a lease together, Christine didn't exactly have the rights to kick her out either. I just wish Orna would say that maybe their happy ending is separating as lifelong friends and cease being lovers. That'd still give Nadine exactly what she said she wanted.
  5. Each "Baking Show" is its own thing. For instance, Netflix has the original Great British Baking Show and carries the Christmas specials. Roku apparently carries the Celebrity bake offs from what I saw when browsing. I guess Netflix didn't want them? The Great American Baking Show is a separate show. Netflix probably could have arranged for it if they wanted it but they didn't so Roku decided to pick it up after ABC opted not to make any more. This, by the way, is US-Centric. Other countries will have different arrangements.
  6. If she has a fifth kid? Sure. But Lady Danbury already alluded to the fact that her "garden bloomed" after her husband died which hints that any extramarital relationships occurred after Lord D died and all of her kids were his.
  7. I thought that I wouldn't tear up like everyone else and yet...I did get a little sniffly. I knew it was going to be a love match but this definitely had a heavier tone to it knowing how it was going to end...when a happily ever after is a brief moment of remembrance. I did find it a bit silly that Lord Ledger was willing to go into the house and have a sexual relationship with Lady Danbury but put an end to it even though the shack would likely a safer place to have sex. I get why he did it but if Lady Whistledown were around, everyone would know. I'm not sure if I want a second season. I have a feeling it'd only get sadder. It seems like the present day takes place after S2 of Bridgerton but before the epilogue. Violet mentioned Kate and Anthony were on their honeymoon. The actor who plays Reynolds and the actor who plays King George are roommates in real life. I was a little meh on the Reynolds/Brimsley romance if only because we didn't get to see it build. But if there's a season two, we could learn more about what happened. Possible spoilers from interviews:
  8. It's a little frustrating that everyone had somewhat up and down finals and no one outright took the showstopper. Martin was as deserving as any of them but I wish the final showstoppers had matched the quality of earlier episodes. All in all, this was an enjoyable season but I do think it should have been released weekly to let word of mouth grow.
  9. If you have any questions about whether or not discussion goes too far into Bridgerton territory, report the post instead of discussing it here. For the record, discussion of Penelope as far as her role as Lady Whistledown is fine for discussion as her newsletter is present. Penelope's relationships with the Bridgertons and her family would not be.
  10. Except the one son who did do his duty but had his wife? child? grandchild? die and he kept breaking out in tears every time Charlotte said they were all failing to do what needed to be done. Poor guy. Hopefully attending to the queen will get Lady Danbury some reprieve from the bed of her husband. I definitely didn't expect George to leave her alone.
  11. I hate crepe cakes even though I like crepes. I don't know if it's because of too much filling or if it's because the crepes are cold but it's a no for me. However, I wanted to try all of the ice cream cakes because I love ice cream, especially textured ice cream.
  12. Definitely an up and down episode for all of them. I wanted to try all of the pop-tarts and none of the pies. Sean probably deserved to go but it was a bit of a shocker. I loved the look of his showstoppers including this one but raw won't cut it. I really felt for him having to make his own peanut butter. It's not hard to do but the cheap "American Brand" stuff really is perfect for Peanut Butter Flavored baked items because of its sugar content and stabilizers...and lack of oil. Sara seemed like she'd be a weak baker but she did deserve star baker. She's been showing up more and more.
  13. I didn't realize she only had three years of experience. It was time for her. But the showstoppers were still cool.
  14. I like Ellie and Zach as well. They're smooth, positive but not overdoing it with the jokes. And this was filmed in the UK.
  15. John. Maybe I didn't pay close enough attention to his bakes whereas with Karis, I've paid more attention because she did so well during the first challenge in the first episode.
  16. Did they say where Prue went? I'm kind of amazed that people who create some disasters early on are able to create such amazing looking illusion cakes. I'm also a little surprised Karis survived. I like her but I thought for sure she'd go.
  17. I really liked the structure on some of those showstoppers. I almost think the Sean should have won, his market was so gorgeous. But Martin's was good too.
  18. There were so many reasons Max and Kat broke up. I didn't think his devotion to his career was as much of a factor as it was that they fought all the time when they lived together.
  19. I'm a little surprised only because I saw a site (I think Spoiler TV) with a headline "Call Me Kat renewed" which usually indicates there is movement on production for the next season. But maybe they started getting some things going just in case they renewed by the writers were on strike. Oh Miranda, I wish they had done you better.
  20. I thought the school psychologist was also there. Cosgrove kept asking about what was said and the psychologist said she couldn't disclose what was said in confidence. That made it seem to me like she knew otherwise I think she'd say she didn't know what was said. It appeared she felt bound by ethics even though no one was alone with her when they disclosed.
  21. I actually don't mind that the confession was tossed in this instance. (I don't know what would have really happened. ) He was under custody, even if not officially arrested, at the police station with no parent around. I think extra care should be taken with minors. Had it happened at school or elsewhere? No but in this circumstance, I didn't hate it as much as I've hated other legal decisions. Except he was the softie in this ep.
