  1. This is a scary show! They never seem to have scales. Most home scales probably don't go above 3-400 but after they make significant progress you'd think they'd get one. They shouldn't be going to the doctor's office having no idea if they've gotten anywhere close to their goals. I have a bathroom scale which always reads about 8 pounds less than the one at the gym at work (the kind with the sliders). Unfortunately my doctor's scale agrees with the gym. :-/
  2. I know; I was just being snarky. Josh should be happy...another one who will need him (for a while, at least).
  3. Did that baby not make a sound or did they just edit out the screaming?
  4. I hear they like brussels sprouts...http://metro.co.uk/2018/04/10/ever-wondered-46-guinea-pigs-eating-brussels-sprouts-looks-like-7455155/ ----- Do we think she'll survive the delivery?!?!
  5. Not only is she scared, but this baby could kill her! In case anyone missed that. Josh and me...Mom and me....gah!
  6. Her hair looks nice. Oh, jeez, she smokes? Someone speculated last week that the amount he tells them to lose initially might have to do with other health issues/test results that we don't get to see.
  7. I wasn't totally paying attention but I thought I heard that in the promo... I wonder if BC works the same way in someone that heavy. I know hormonal BC can be iffy but what about something like an IUD? Inquiring minds... I've done that, but I'll wash it before I actually use it.
  8. I was reading a comment thread elsewhere about the dreck that TLC puts on (it was really about the Duggars and the Willis Family, on a blog post about the latter family)...I refrained from mentioning that I watch this show...(and Trading Spaces but that's not so bad, relatively speaking). Added to my Netflix list...whenever I get around to setting up my account. My brother gave me gift cards for Christmas that should cover a year, I think.
  9. How many times did she remind us she might be paralyzed by her pregnancy/spine thing? Right? Eat healthy food and make sure you're getting enough calories. That's what your baby needs. I remember her but I don't remember any details of her story.
  10. Why do I get the feeling he wouldn't be upset if she did end up paralyzed? Then he wouldn't have to worry about her not needing him anymore. (What does it say about your relationship if you think it'll fall apart if she doesn't need you to take care of all her physical needs.) IIRC, they wanted to get pregnant...cuz that's a great idea! Ha! Oh, and so far since I got home I've had a couple Triscuits. I guess I should find some dinner. Today was not a great day. :-/
  11. The more I read of criticisms here, the more I wonder if I liked them so much because we had Hildi's overly bright and busy mess last week to compare. That would be cool. I forgot they did that.
  12. So I've decided they must plant items in the Wayfair shop that go with the planned designs (probably chosen by the designers themselves), so if they're not actively steering the homeowners toward specific pieces (which I would not be surprised if they are), they're at least more likely to choose them. Last week there was a pair of green lamps that went perfectly with Doug's Hawaiian color scheme, and this week there's an ottoman that nicely complements the curtains in the pink room and a yellow chair that goes great with Ty's color pops. Coincidence? I doubt it. ;)
  13. Neither one was really my taste, but I could live with either one if I had to and I thought Carter's was really pretty (a little too girly for me; if nothing else, I'd replace the pink with blue and lose the dream catchers). I thought Ty's would be great for something like a kids' rec room; it came out looking pretty cool but I wouldn't want it in my living room. Last week I was thinking if I had been the sister working with Hildi, after the cameras left I'd be offering to go paint shopping the next day and help paint over it, despite the amount of work that went into it. Also, I'd have fun smashing the egg shells against a brick wall or something. It'd be a great way of working off some stress after spending two days with Hildi (especially since the end result was basically the opposite of a relaxing space; I think just hanging out in there would raise my blood pressure). Vern and Genevieve are next week! If I had to pick a designer, I think it'd be Vern.
  14. I read an old article last week about the behind-the-scenes (I think someone posted it on either the reunion part 1 thread or last week's episode thread) and it mentioned a sewing coordinator (in a scene where the designer was showing one of the homeowners how to sew a pillow, apparently there wasn't actually any thread in the machine; most of it was done by someone else) and a second carpenter who didn't appear on camera (they quoted Amy Wynn Pastor saying something about feeling bad about taking credit for another person's work when they pretended she did it all herself). It also mentioned crew members helping to paint and stuff - including Doug, who they said did a lot of work when the cameras were off, despite his jokingly lounging around with a drink while the homeowners worked, so maybe he's not quite as much of a jerk as he sometimes comes across. (The episode the writer was at was the one with his blue and white bedroom.) So there's lots of behind-the-scenes help. What with all their various extra art projects and such, I can't imagine they'd get anywhere close to finishing the rooms in the time they have without it. If they asked me to sew pillows, it would take me forever and they probably wouldn't look great, because I don't sew. (And if they asked me to blow out five dozen eggs, I'd tell them they're nuts, because ew.)
  15. I only even finally learned her name a few episodes ago. Granted, this show doesn't exactly command my undivided attention, but the fact that I still don't even know most of the interns' names should say something.
  16. lol...wait, so Laurie had kids while doing the show?! There was just way too much screaming and applause when the new designers came in.
  17. I don't hate bright colors but I don't really like orange/yellow. Personally I would have picked up the blues and greens from the pillows, instead. But I really liked the finished room. The bright colors weren't overwhelming, but made the gray less...gray (and I really like the gray). I thought the pink room was really pretty. I would totally let Carter design a room for me. I wasn't too worried about the fire because I figured if they had to evacuate and couldn't finish...well, we wouldn't be watching this episode.
  18. I would think some of it might just have to do with other patients (and possibly employees; notice it's usually the same nurse at the weigh in) not wanting to be seen on camera, and also just getting the camera crew in there is easier when there aren't other patients around (there's probably at least a producer, a camera operator and a sound person and a bunch of cords and stuff), so they probably schedule them later just for production purposes. The office even allowing other patients to be shown in the waiting room without permission could be a HIPAA violation, I believe. (And if I were a patient I certainly would not want to go to an appointment and find myself on national TV, even if they blurred me.) I have never assumed what we see is even half of the actual doctor/patient interaction. Earlier this week I read an article on the behind-the-scenes of Trading Spaces, and there's a lot of staging of scenes, so while you see people working on the room, it might actually be the second or third time they've shot it. There are also other people helping with things like sewing and carpentry; there's no way they'd get it all done otherwise. (One of the things that amused me was the description of a scene where the designer was showing the husband how to sew a pillow or something - there was no thread in the machine). I'd assume there are some filming/production shenanigans going on behind the scenes on M600PL, too.
  19. OMG. If we ever get a "Rico" (or a Tony) and Lola is his therapist…I won't be able to contain myself.
  20. Why even bring it up? How is her job title relevant to giving a victim impact statement about her parents' deaths? Was she required to tell them what she does for a living?
  21. Cheating "a little" for most people is an extra slice; for them it's an extra pizza. When I'm really craving pizza I treat myself to a local (somewhat overpriced but oh-so-yummy) place that makes super-thin crust pies which are smaller in diameter than most (their large would be a medium anywhere else; possibly a small at some places). I can easily eat half of a pie, but that's probably the equivalent of 2 slices at a regular pizza-by-the-slice type place. If I get any toppings on it, it's peppers and onions. (And while I don't normally like reheated pizza that much, theirs reheats nicely on the stove in a non-stick pan.) I might get it once every few months and it lasts me 2-3 meals (usually with a salad or at least some cut-up veggies). (Sometimes I add a lasagna and have dinner for the better part of a week.) I have on rare occasions been known to eat the whole thing in one night, but I have always regretted it. I can't imagine doing that (or the equivalent and then some) on a daily basis. Given their penchant for having little dogs on this show: "I hope if dogs take over the world, and they choose a king, they don't just go by size, because I bet there are some Chihuahuas with some good ideas." Maybe the Chihuahuas can give them some dieting tips.
