  1. I ended up turning this one off. I had zero attention span to devote to it. Didn't even move my laptop from the table (where if I'm sitting properly in my chair my back is to the TV).
  2. I am finding the tumor show surprisingly heartwarming; I even just turned the TV back on to see what tonight's mass is. Even though I should go to bed. I've been watching After Midnight (the CBS reboot of Comedy Central's @Midnight)on youtube while checking in on the chat every so often. It's Weird Al Yankovic, Drew Carey, and Thomas Lennon. If you need a palate cleanser after all the apparent dreariness of this episode you might want to check it out. Absolute chaos in the best way. :) Hope everyone has a good week!
  3. I was doing jigsaw puzzles while I was waiting for the show to start! I use jigsawexplorer.com.
  4. I think there was a Hoarders episode not too far from me.
  5. I didn't dislike her but she seemed kinda nervous.
  6. Pretty sure there's been more than one from New Jersey, but the only one I can think of was Robert who passed away before the episode finished.
  7. I turned it off. Now watching youtube videos on topics that are generally not allowed here. But still reading because I love you all.
  8. I like the orange flower on whatever-her-name-is's head.
  9. I honestly can't say I'm paying attention to these people.
  10. My brother got me a big bottle of black Sambuca for Christmas. I haven't even opened it yet...
  11. I'm here... I'm heating up mac & cheese with broccoli for my eating habit. I went for a walk when I got home from work.
  12. April 24: 80% / 57% / 69% Good first round, bad second. Back to normal, I guess. In J! I ran the entire right half of the board! - Etymologies, The Rite Stuff, and Movement. Missed two each in US Military Actions, Celebrity Memoirs, and Hiking Gear. DJ I ran Essays, missed one in "Old", two in Near the Equator, three each in Art & Artists and Music from 10 Years Ago, and four in Engineering Marvels. FJ was an instaget. TSes: (J had only the DD; DJ had 7 + both DDs) I got Civil Disobedience (DD), Komodo (DD), Democratic Republic of Congo, and Nathaniel Hawthorne. They missed all the Daily Doubles and I got them all right!
  13. I know, I said to myself, he's not old enough to know that one!
  14. My first thought was NAACP and then my brain quickly reset and realized the clue was specifically referencing colleges. CERN = Conseil européen pour la Recherche nucléaire, or The European Organization for Nuclear Research; an intergovernmental organization that operates the largest particle physics laboratory in the world. So we can all thank CERN for our being here today to discuss Jeopardy!
  15. Stop banking after every answer! Aw, I was rooting for Michael.
  16. April 23: 63% / 77% / 69% Flipping the script! Meh first round, good second! In J! I missed one in Pop Culture and Math, two in Presidents & First Ladies, Words, and What Are You Afraid Of, and three in Italian Products. I did better in Math than in Words…that's just not normal. In DJ I ran Authors and "Pro" Nouns, missed one in The Picture of Someone Named Grey and I'll Remember Late April, two in Song/Ad, and three in Shared Lakes (why can I never remember Chad?!) Did not get FJ (also guessed Wells Fargo; my mind went to banking, not jewelry). TSes: (J had 5; DJ had 4 + 1DD) I got coefficient, Ken Kesey, CERN, and United Negro College Fund (DD). Too bad math professor Marko! wasn't still there for the math category. Yay! I was rooting for Mark tonight. I started writing this comment between the intros and the start of the game and my first line was, "I will have to stop watching the intros if Nam sticks around." Lianne was too slow.
  17. I read Their Eyes Were Watching God in college, but know nothing of Moms Mabley. So I knew the novel she was best known for when the correct answer was revealed, but that didn't help me figure it out.
  18. Same, but I decided to refrain from including my non-so-nice comment. He seems like a nice guy. The finger guns or whatever he did at the beginning need to go.
  19. April 22: Happy Earth Day 🌍 70% / 57% / 63% Decent first round, bad second. Off to a familiar start for the week. In J! I ran Emmy Winning Role, missed one in Also a Basketball Term, and two in everything else. In DJ I ran Libraries, missed one in Octopus, two in Role Almost Goes To, three in Zimbabwe and 6-Syllable Words, and four in Historical Figures. Did not get FJ. TSes: (J had 2; DJ had 5 + 1DD) I got block grant, Jon Cryer, and Princeton University. Darn, I wanted Marko! to win.
  20. Almost; she died December 31, 1928, according to the Ghosts wiki. A little googling and I find that the first lobotomy in the US was performed in September 1936, and Rosemary Kennedy's father had hers done in November 1941.
  21. Everyone who participates deserves cake.
  22. Also, the amount of cabbage and potatoes they showed certainly wasn't enough for 250 servings. Where was the rest? Maybe he can turn it into a class for the local housewives...
  23. In the Primetimer interview kathyk2 linked, Rebecca Wisocky mentions how Hetty and Trevor are really a lot alike: "Now I think they're almost exactly the same in different ways. Trevor came up in a new Gilded Age with an opioid crisis, class disparity, and ridiculous, ostentatious displays of wealth. He was so incredibly driven by money and power, and Hetty was exactly the same way and unscrupulous about it. A '90s Wall Street bro? That's exactly who that was, too. Those two have a lot more to say to one another and I enjoy their relationship a lot." I was thinking about it earlier and wondered if Trevor hadn't had his own dark thoughts, between the high-pressure finance world and the drugs, and his reaction was one of real understanding.
  24. From what I understand, she's The Joker's sidekick/girlfriend(?), and I know she was played by Margot Robbie in the Suicide Squad movie. I bowled on a league for four years with my family when I was in middle/high school, and later for a season with some coworkers, so I got three of them based on that, but I'm not familiar with candlepin bowling (I have heard of it, but don't really know anything about it and didn't recognize the pins in the picture). Kingpin was more of an educated guess based on knowing the Woody Harrelson movie Kingpin is about bowling.
