I liked Darlene's new job and perhaps new love interest.

I liked that there were no kids tonight.

I liked a lot of the one liners especially from Darlene regarding Becky's pregnancy.  However, I guess I'm in the minority -  I don't like that Becky is pregnant.  Actually, I don't like that she's really promiscuous since the show returned.  And I really can't believe that anyone in this day and age would have unprotected sex if they weren't in a committed relationship!  I hope the couple who want to adopt her baby isn't going to happen.  Characters we've never heard of/seen before decide immediately that they want to adopt Becky's baby when she tells them she's pregnant.  She just found out the day before and never mentioned anything about giving it up.  The whole scene seemed odd.

    Since when is Jackie bilingual?

Good to see I'm not alone in feeling that way. That scene felt as if the people wanted to steal her baby. Basically befriend her further and then steal it. No, just no, on that one.

Maybe it's part of her job as a life coach to be bilingual.

I said they had nothing in the article to back up their assertions.  I assumed, largely because of the age of the main characters, that they'd be doing short seasons, and if they stick with that, the show has a better chance for survival.  Short seasons are fine by me.  The Orrville is doing short seasons.

Oh I know, and the comment in general was not aimed at you. It was aimed at those who wrote the article and didn't back up their assertions. It frustrates me when articles do that. Agreed on that. Short seasons don't equal bad.

That may the case but sites that look at whether or not a show will be renewed usually base those calculations on how a show compares to the other shows on the same network and less on competition.  For instance, if you look at NBC, Will & Grace basically maintain the ratings of Superstore and The Good Place.  On CBS, the ratings drop throughout the night and Murphy is the lowest comedy and the only one with the demo under 1.0.  The ratings aren't a disaster but Murphy's fate is going to be based on whether or not CBS thinks the show can grow and whether or not they can find something that will perform better.

Fair enough. But I still think it's bs. It is nothing more than a ratings game, more so these days. Whatever show can be produced the cheapest seems to last longer.

I think the survey and the assignment were fine. But Jackie being over the top and confrontational just embarrassed Mark and scared away pollees.

Same here. I had no problem with it either to be honest. But Jackie's behavior was just way too much (regardless of political affiliation... it just went too far). He should have brought some duct tape and let her know that he'd use it, if she tried to interrupt the poll. >:)

There was an article on one of the homepages (I think MSN) where they speculated it may be in danger of cancellation.  Their reasoning was that while it's pulling the same ratings as Will and Grace, it's more expensive to produce, and is being produced in New York.  But that was just their speculation - they admitted they had nothing firm to back it up.

Only thing is, they're pulling in more viewers than Will and Grace, this season (unless they were going by what Will and Grace were getting in part viewing wise last season). And that's a weak argument in terms of the production price that MSN used. Every argument I've seen so far from those kinds of sites has been rather weak. It's as if they want it to fail. Can't see any other reason for it than that. They figure if they wish it long enough that things will go that way.

That's what is tough about doing a Thanksgiving episode for a show that airs on Thursdays - you don't want to air it after, but a full week before can feel too early (especially this year, when Thanksgiving is already so early and people aren't yet in the mood).  With tweaks in air dates, this episode could have originally been slated for this previous Thursday with this week a skip (airing either the first episode or the strongest episode as a repeat), or it could have been slated to air here all along if the 13-episode order was all the network ever cared about (meaning they don't care about low Thanksgiving-night ratings for a new episode affecting the overall season ratings, because they're not looking to sell a second limited-run season to advertisers in the first place).

There's nothing definitive about CBS airing a new episode of this when it's airing reruns of everything else -- it could be the usual burn-off scenario, or it could be what was always planned.  They're obviously producing this show more cheaply than in the original run (music licensing costs have nearly disappeared, and there are fewer sets), so a new order is still possible with the ratings, but it could also easily be done after these thirteen.  I'm happy either way, as this has been really fun.

Definitely. I'm thinking the latter on it (the planned route). But like you said, either way, it's been a fun ride. An enjoyable revival.

That scene was horrible. I like Jackie, but she was just an asshole here. I was hoping the scene would show that not everyone is either democrat or republican. Instead we have a republican we are supposed to hate because he doesn’t want to raise taxes (which seems to be for the city to paint messages, so I’m with him on that one), but he will buy...a pretzel! The horror! ?

The polling idea at a mall could work if it was something not personal or is so charged. What is your favorite color, for example.

Problem with that is that it was a school assignment. They asked students to ask about political affiliation. So the school would be at fault there.

I’m not sure why the voiceovers are saying that they’re “all-new” then. Oh well. I guess I don’t understand why airing a new episode of this show means it’s due to the ratings or means it won’t be renewed.

Thing is, the ratings aren't terrible for it. They've been in the 5 millions. Same as for some other shows out there.

This show isn’t the only one airing new episodes on Thanksgiving Day.

Who else is doing it? You got me curious. :P

I'm guessing because this season is gonna be it for this show.  I think they only revived it  as an FU to Trump in the first place.

If so... I'm glad they've been doing better as it's been going along. Just for the sake of it. Regardless of those who dislike it.

This show is my FAVORITE show this season. I'm glad I dvr it, because the past two weeks I've had to work late, and if I didn't have it recorded, I'd've missed them.

I don't mind the continuous mentions of the current Administration because even in the early to mid year seasons, whatever Administration was there, there would be commentary about it. As I am currently watching both the new and previous seasons, I can state this with certainty.

And Avery is hawt with those spectacles. And I loved Murphy's "cute tush. I made that." I love Murphy and Avery's relationship. How he's telling her to not take the call and watch his promo; takes the phone from Murphy.

Or when Avery tells his friends he's going to "slo mo kick" their asses as they slo mo out the door!

I'm also not a lawyer, nor do I play one on teevee, but I think double jeopardy does apply here because he was acquitted for this attempt. If Charlie tries to kill Holly again, then double jeopardy doesn't apply because it's a new crime. Unless he took the stand at his trial, he can't be charged with perjury.

Anyhoo. Corky annoyed me this episode. And I also noticed, now that Show revealed that Pat (It still bugs me how he's anglicized his first name) is gay, he's styling himself more flamboyantly in a way that I see it as show pointing an invisible finger, and pointing out he's gay.

I don't either. Exactly. It's something to see just how different the show is received now from back then. That said, it's still damn good, no matter what.

Yeah, I don't understand why they aired it out of order anyway.  Unless there were production problems, but I doubt that was the reason.   I suppose they thought the other episodes were more appealing, and were trying to gain some momentum, but that seems ridiculous too.

    Agree about Jackie.

Same here about Jackie.  Only part of the episode that felt off to me.

And I was coming here to post that something this season feels off to me with JG. I get that he's in mourning, but JG just seems... deflated? Again, I know Dan's supposed to lost and sad but it seems like the joy of playing Dan is missing. (Sorry, I'm not expressing myself very well)

It didn't feel or seem that way to me. I felt similar to him when I lost my uncle a couple of years back. It took a bit for me to not feel down/deflated. That kind of loss takes time to get over. Thought his performance seemed believable.

I thought another solid show, several lines cracked me up, Phyllis to Corky - put you over there...in the kavanaugh corner. A couple of others, I've already forgotten. It's me, my short term memory is shot. But I loved Corky's sweater during the live interview with Holly.

I did enjoy Avery's friends making fun of his slo mo walk and wiping the sweat off his brow. What else are real friends for?

Word. Solid acting and good writing tonight. Loved it. Avery and his friends were a hoot and so was Murphy and Corky.

Looking forward to next week's episode, going from what I've seen from the promo.

There is a Network called START  Not sure if it plays everywhere put it plays 3 episodes a day starting at 2   https://www.starttv.com/shows/cold-case

They just played one of the best episodes "Bests Friends"  the one where the two women fall in love during prohibition.  That one always makes me cry.

Edited:  There is a  "where to watch" button  https://www.starttv.com/wheretowatch/

Thanks! Well there shoots that... as I don't have a converter box, so the channel is a no go. And I go through Directv.

I am watching old episodes of Cold Case and I don’t know why but Lilly Rush just does it for me.  Don’t know anything about the actress except she was a recurring character on the now defunct Reverie.  But something about her just does it for me.   The crazy thing is blondes aren’t even my thing.  I usually go for red headed actresses and British actors (for some reason the reverse does not work on me).

How are you able to watch them? I haven't seen them on mainstream tv in quite some time. (Sorry for being a little OT... just wondering)

Bad news, then-W&G is moving to 9:30 in January when B99 starts up and will be in the 9:00 slot.

Dammit. They should have B99 be in that slot and leave W & G alone.

That said, I'll be dvr'ing W & G. Staying with Murphy Brown live.

LOL - I did a double-take on that humongous pin as well, but seriously thought it was an ant ready for a picnic. I am enjoying this show. I loved seeing Murphy with John Laroquette's character as I also enjoyed them on Boston Legal. It might be fun to see William Shatner or James Spader make an appearance as well.

Yea that could be pretty cool seeing either of those two show up. This show has been fun so far, reboot wise.

I loved Phyllis' line when she came out and saw Caprice sitting next to Jim.  It was something along the line of being a former NYC traffic cop and knowing when someone was parked where they weren't supposed to be.

I'm glad MB is on Thursday night.  It's my must see TV night:  Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Mom and Murphy Brown.

Same here. Only with Will and Grace and Murphy Brown.
