Ha.  I actually think he was worse which, mixed with his rage, overshadowed her sanctimony.

Nah. That was the fault of the writers for making him that way along with the show runner (in my opinion). I have a special dislike of Warren Leight in that regard. He really didn't seem to like Stabler all that much.

  2. Just heard a great one today from Frank:

    From O.R.:

Frank: During Col. Blake's absence, I will act in his capacity. So if there are any problems bring them to me or to Major Houlihan. And talking to the major is the same as talking to me since we are intimate with each other all the time.

    XD

Olivia Benson on SVU. People think she's become a sanctimonious know-it-all it recent seasons. I've got news for you: she was ALWAYS a sanctimonious know-it-all. We just didn't notice it as much with Stabler around.

Yep. He helped to rein it in.

In "Enter Sandman" by Metallica, I always still hear "keep you free from sin" as "keep your free throws in."  The only time I heard it correctly was when the band performed it live on Craig Ferguson's talk show.

After hearing the song the other day, I remembered that as a kid, I used to screw up the chorus of "Voices Carry" by 'Til Tuesday.  Instead of "Hush, hush, keep it down, down, voices carry" I would sing "Oh shush!  Even downtown, voices carry."

    Nice ones!

I heard that Til Tuesday one as 'Bush is scary' (as in Dubya -- not being political, it's just how I heard it as XD, guess I need to clean out my ears more lol).

Your mishearing makes just as much sense as the original line!

I've been watching both the morning and evening showings in order on MeTV and I noticed that they skipped over "The Case of the Terrified Typist" (S1, E38) for some reason. Is there a problem with that episode? Is it not part of the syndication package?

Yea I've noticed that with some episodes. They were supposed to air the one ep with Betty Davis one night and instead aired another one. Wondered if they weren't able to get permission for it anymore.

If you don't want to join in, just look up the songs via Youtube. (I'll be going that route, since I'm not a big fan of it (Spotify).)

Anthony Bourdain's death comes as a complete shock!

I'll admit I don't know who Kate Spade is (I don't collect/wear hundreds of different shoes or purses), so that one didn't really connect with me.  But Bourdain?  Suicide?  He was always so witty and funny.  I wonder if he was recently diagnosed with something and couldn't deal with it?  I just can't see him as a depressed person.

My son & I have watched his shows for years.  I hope he's having a drink and a little smoke to go with his favorite Asian dish where he is.

Same here. RIP Anthony Bourdain. My mom and I loved watching his shows over the years and liked his sense of humor.

Margo Martindale? So they'll just pick another chubby, brash lady to take her place? That's not going to happen. I love Margo by the way. But, come on. And honestly, I'm not too interested in seeing a sitcom revolved around Sara. They just need to move on.

Speaking of a sitcom around Sara: https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/roseanne-reboot-centered-around-sara-gilbert-being-considered-report/ar-AAy7Fa2?li=BBnb7Kx (via TMZ -- so take it with a grain of salt).

I can see what you mean there about moving on, yet I'm a bit interested.

  9. From The Police's Everything you do is Magic:

    Actual lines:

I resolve to call her up a thousand times a day
And ask her if she'll marry me in some old fashioned way
But my silent fears have gripped me
Long before I reach the phone
Long before my tongue has tripped me
    Must I always be alone?

    What I heard:

I resolve to cholera a thousand times a day (a big thanks to Sting and his singing lol)
And ask her if she'll marry me in some old fashioned way
But my silent fears have gripped me
Long before I reach the phone
Long before my tongue has tripped me
    Must I always be alone?

There’s so much excitement surrounding the return of Murphy Brown. How does that feel? It's just weird. Obviously, Diane English and I are thrilled. There's just a great buzz about it, and we're just going to make the best Murphy that we can. We've been given so much by this administration, so we don't want to squander it.

In its first incarnation, the show didn’t shy away from controversial topics, like abortion. Can we expect that no-holds-barred approach this time around? We plan on shrinking from nothing.

  11. My mom and I watched an episode that dealt with one of Kenda's earlier cases and spotted that the cars belonged in the 90's and not the 70's and the same goes for one of the case files (it was clearly from 1994, and not 1977 lol). Whoops. :p We both laughed our butts off at those mistakes.

I love this! A nice article about him: https://www.mensjournal.com/health-fitness/homicide-hunter-joe-kenda-interview-murder-death-killer-investigation-discovery/

    This bit is so true.

“There’s Nothing More Dangerous on This Planet Than a Human Being”

A lot of things happened on the job. Some were hysterically funny. Some were horribly sad. Some were absolutely horrific. You see it all.

Animals kill for a need. They kill to survive. Humans kill for pleasure. They’re capable of anything, so don’t ever believe somebody won’t do something, because they will, and then they’ll plan to do it again because they liked it.

So every morning I’d have a meeting with my detectives, to give them their marching orders, and as they were leaving, I’d say, “Remember boys and girls, the humans are out. Be careful.”

No one was ever going to replace Raymond Burr as Perry Mason and have it be a success.  Not even Monte Markham.

Just like I couldn't picture anyone other than Angela Lansbury playing Jessica Fletcher.

Perry Mason quiz.  Put on your thinking caps people, the quiz isn't that easy.

Loved the quiz! Thanks for sharing :).

You got 21 out of 30

You got the verdict you were looking for! You won this case!
