  1. Something love about this show: FBI AGENT LUCA IS TERRIBLE AT HIS JOB! Agent Luca can't do a thing without Charlie, which means that Charlie absolutely can't count on him. That's why she can't ever take him up on a job offer or otherwise trust him to have her back. He's completely incapable of keeping her safe.
  2. Everyone's saying that this show is like Columbo, but it reminds me more of The Incredible Hulk (1977-1982). Superpowered individual on the run, pursued from town to town and trying to do good along the way.
  3. Once it happened my first thought that 18yo Dylan should go full-on Tiresias and use the opportunity to experience sex as a woman, but I soon realized: No man wants to discover (as Tiresias did) that sex is better as a woman and In the universe of this show, surely that particular exploration has already happened. A lot.
  4. I love it that I didn't see the XX thing coming, but after the reveal it was forehead-slapping obvious.
  5. Is it just me or is the character of Bruce (the blond reporter) supposed to remind us of an upside down version of Robert Redford from All the President's Men (1976)?
  6. I loved the musical reference as Sabrina rode away on her bicycle, a la Margaret Hamilton's Mrs. Gulch in "The Wizard of Oz", starting at 23:33 from the end of this episode.
  7. Perhaps. Incredible Hulk #1 came out in 1962. Detective Comics #345 came out in 1965.
  8. Fellow DC Comics fans, I can't believe they were hiding this in plain sight all along: It hit me when I saw Ben Lockwood in his torn shirt. Ben Lockwood. B LOCKwood. BLOCK. Blockbuster. We all remember Blockbuster from the comics, right?
  9. Did anyone else think that the rando woman who walked by on the streets of Parthas (around 18:50) was Black Orchid?
  10. OMG THEY WENT WEREWOLF! I've been joking with a buddy that the show was going to have a drug-induced-werewolf subplot in reference to Nightshade in the comics, who could use drugs to create and control werewolves. AND THEY DID IT! Thus did this become my favorite season of a Marvel show.
  11. My compliments to the costume designer who incorporated the traditional Martian Manhunter costume into the ceremonial robes for M'yrnn J'onnz. They've got that X. They've got the ginormous Kirby buttons. They're just great.
  12. I'm calling it now: Mon-El will regret giving that medical device to the child. Brainiac 5's seemingly-benign gadgets tend to grow into real trouble, to wit:
  13. My favorite moment: That little wave that Smith gave her poisoned sister, encouraging her to fall unconscious already. So funny.
