  1. Yah. I might go just to see the fun and hoopla. For like an hour or two. Especially if people are dressed up and doing period dances. If parking was easy.
  2. So now she's too dumb to know righty-tighty, lefty-loosey? My 4 year old knows that.
  3. Who said she was looking for Jess? In fact, she told him to go away. She was looking for Luke or Taylor. Shoulda been looking for a clue. Pointless move bc she could have just told Dean she figured it out. And hardly cancels the multiple times he did try to eff with them.
  4. Awfully telling, though. Like, you lose your cool over sprinklers...what's gonna happen in that fox hole with bombs and guns, etc? Also, look at the sexism. Is it ASP's? Is it Rory's? She calls Dean. Runs to find Luke or Taylor. Why not Babette (who'd be right next door)? Miss Patty (always seems to be at her studio)? Luke I get - he's an adult she goes to, but the Taylor thing made it seem more like, "I need to find a guy to help me." Irksome.
  5. Agree! They should both be equally able or unable to work the thing. If you recall the episode, you simply had to turn it but push down at the same time. She didn't even try to troubleshoot the thing. Flailed at it for 2 seconds and then just went to full on panic mode.
  6. No doubt, she was a big part of the problem. Partly bc she liked him but also partly bc she has this weirdo idea that they could be friends (when he was clearly not interested in just being friends).
  7. Rory told Jess to quit making trouble to stir up Dean, and he didn't listen to that, either.
  8. It was a twist-on, twist-off sprinkler. Not the O rings on the space shuttle. ASP liked to make these women simpletons in weird regards. Simple home repairs and maintenance were above Lorelai's head, etc. Sexist drek. Or, if done on purpose, makes me dislike the characters even more. Don't call yourself an independent woman and then flounder with putting up a towel rack. Or, you know, use your oven for its intended purpose. Yes. I meant Jess. Why would he have any reason to know how sprinklers worked? Especially since there are so many different kids of systems, on/off mechanisms, etc. Dean did have a cell phone. Paris calls him on it at Sookie's wedding. Oasis is season 3. I am a doctor. Back when we used pagers, there was never an 'instant reply' in the way Rory seemed to anticipate. She holds up some device, punches it twice, and the curses Dean for his unibomber tendencies. Like all the span of 10 seconds. Even texting doesn't work that fast.
  9. No doubt. But he wouldn't have picked Dean if he wasn't Rory's boyfriend. Either way, dick move.
  10. While I agree you can't steal someone, Jess was plenty meddling and underhanded. Plus he never seemed to care about purposely creating situations where Dean would get angry and there would be a fight. Not nice to Rory, never mind Dean. Heck, even Luke gives Jess a lecture about not messing with them and their relationship anymore.
  11. Confused about the sprinkler scene. Why couldn't Rory turn them off? We were led to believe she was not a giant moron. How come the city slicker who had no lawn knew how to do it? Bc he is a boy? Why was Rory paging Dean? We know he has a cell phone. Why was she acting like paging him meant she should get a near instantaneous reply? How did paging = he knew where she was and was on the way? Why so panicky anyway? So the lawn get 5 extra minutes of water. BFD.
  12. Everything that Luke did for Lorelai that took him out of his way = typical guy white knighting it for a chick he is into. Not evidence of their "friendship."
  13. The apt Rory, Doyle, and Paris lived in was supposed to be a duplex. Paris said she found a duplex. And what the heck is that outfit Rory wears to court???!!!
  14. Wasn't that Kelly Taylor's mom from 90210? Yeah. Uber-beyowtch.
  15. Did you guys notice, though, how Emily said she knew it was their last night and that is why she was surprised Lorelai wasn't there? Or how Lorelai didn't explain either? That makes me think Rory must've said *something*. Or it's just stupid writing again.
  16. I like the parts of the episode where Emily is a total B to Lorelai. Had a sidecar this evening, in fact.
  17. In case anyone cares, the Kropog thing is totally made up.
  18. I am not sure that I would have ever in my life found a sarcastic, scruffy, provincial dude with a bad attitude who worked in a diner attractive (or considered him dating material). Been friends with some people like that, though. In limited/situational ways (at work, fixing motorcycles, etc). So I don't think we would have had to suspend our disbelief that much. *shrug* Luke was so insecure. Especially about Chris. Pretty much every blowout or problem or nastiness between Luke and Lorelai boiled down to his insecurity about their 'two worlds' and her being better off with someone like Chris. The weird blowup over the wedding and break-up #1. The phone call fight. The punch. The speech he makes after break-up #2 about how Lorelai belongs with someone like Chris and not with someone like Luke. His inability to have a reasonable conversation with the elder Gilmores (he was weirdly nervous and obsequious - no wonder they had a hard time respecting him). The more I watch the series, the more irritating this character gets.
  19. It's all very inconsistent with Rory being a little girl with the whole caterpillar funeral but how they didn't meet until she was 11, etc. Neither of them told the other when they were dating someone. Almost pathologic with the avoidance of the establishment and subject. How do you not know your good, good friend has a nephew?
  20. The running schtick falls apart when he's not even at his own daughter's wedding. Every other time you can get a work-around bc stakes are low.
