Oh yeah, HD has been the bane of actors. I remember many of them lamenting HD when it came out. You can see every pore, never mind wrinkles!

Yes, once she was queen. But they’ve always portrayed the young Elizabeth as quiet and even scared more than cruel (in movies and shows). But this may be more accurate. Like father, like daughter. 😉 lol I didn’t expect that at all. Something I’m sure half the staff had wanted to do but never dared. But what a stupid move. I half expected them to segue to the next scene... Lord Protector’s head on the chopping block. 😄

Ha, she did kick Elizabeth out! I was just joking when I said it back in the first episode. Don’t mess with another woman’s man, Elizabeth. Especially right under her nose! Did all that really happen with Thomas Seymour? I thought it was maybe a small crush but she was ready to go whole hog with him. Nice way to repay Catherine Parr for being a mother to you. And she was so cruel to Jane. Not sure how much poetic license they’re taking here, but I’ve never seen them portray young Elizabeth in this light before.

Nice try, Leland, but foiled again. Ben and the girls were great today. Loved the toilet scene: Ben: “What did you guys put down here?” Lila: “A kid from school.” Laura: “But a short one.” 🤣 Smartypants girls.

{snicker} The actor playing the young version of him just doesn’t have the allure that Jeff Bridges had at that age. I keep picturing younger Jeff Bridges playing the part from what I’ve seen in his movies. He looked so fine in Jagged Edge.

I’m scratching my head about this too. Either they’ve dug up some hidden facts about her or they’ve just invented a new character.

But she’ll get used to it. 😉 I like how through all that chatter, the girls actually understand each other. lol They reply to each other as if they were having a normal conversation.

I had to search for this post, it was moved from the episode thread. Thought I was losing it! I knew I had seen the post. 😄 I’m now watching “England’s Forgotten Queen: The Life and Death of Lady Jane Grey”. Very informative. They’ve pieced together her time after Henry’s death until her beheading. It’s good, if you can get by the bad re-enactment scenes. 😄 It’s on Amazon Prime (in Canada, at least).

Lol, everyone pining for George. I didn’t watch the clips at the end because I don’t like watching previews for next episodes, but I did see one of them (before I realized it was a preview!) and I like George too. I wish they’d add a clip of him again at the end, but not doing a preview. Maybe a recap/explanation of the episode just viewed. “Did you notice that...” with a snide comment, something to that effect. We usually miss something on the show, George can call us out on our ineptitude. 😁 Right down to coordinating the blast of questions to go out at the very same moment. “Now!” and they all click the button. 😂

I’d also like to see a series not as focussed on Elizabeth. There are so many shows out about her already. There is a program called “Edward and Mary: The Unknown Tudors” on Acorn TV (through Amazon) but it’s one of those re-enacted documentaries. Maybe I’ll give it a watch now that my interest is peaked. But I did enjoy this episode. Naked Tom Cullen on my screen, for one. 😉 Can’t blame Elizabeth for being so besotted, Thomas is very charismatic. But apparently she wasn’t shrewd enough yet to play her cards right. If she keeps batting her eyes at Thomas in front of Catherine, she’ll be ousted in no time! I don’t care how magnanimous Catherine Parr was, if there’s a chance of losing her man to the young vixen, she’ll turn on Elizabeth. Poor Edward, being thrown into such responsibility at age 9. Though they’re depicting him older here. And now he’s turning into a defiant preteen. Good luck with that, Lord Protector! I’m not sure what Mary Tudor was like before she became queen but she was a lot harder a person than they’re portraying here, at least in later years. Maybe we’ll see how she toughens up as time goes on.

OMG it was hilarious when the girls were all chattering at Leland at the same time in the game (poor piggie), sending Leland into a completely flustered state. 🤣 I’m another that loves the overlapping chatter. If you’ve ever had a room full of girls over for a sleepover, you’d see they’re depicting it to a T in the show. Little girls are like a gaggle of geese when they get together.

I did too. I think Frank Dillane is really good in the role. He looked familiar but I’m sure I’ve never seen him before. I think I’m seeing his father in him (Stephen Dillane of GoT fame; sorry if it’s been mentioned already, I’m only now tuning into the threads). I think he has a bright future ahead of him.

Yeah, that was a twist, and not done well at all. We were fed the story that they were good friends, then suddenly he’s in love with her? They sure don’t bother to develop characters or relationships in this, do they.

Exactly. There’s a lot of nothing in this when it could have been great. Tom Hiddleston is wasted on this. He has nothing to do, just walking around looking constantly constipated. Poor guy is probably wondering what went wrong with the script.

Ugh, I hate when they do that. I like the weekly discussions around the water cooler. You get more people talking here if we’re all watching weekly. But these are the times now. (God I feel old.) 😄
