  1. “I get kooky if I drink.” I’ve got news for you, Elsbeth... 😄 I liked it. I was afraid she might grate as a main character, but I think they handled it well between her quirkiness and her serious side so that we know she’s (relatively) normal. The denouement was a bit weak, but then I’m not exactly watching for a great whodunnit (or whydunnit, in this case) but more to see Elsbeth. I like the Captain too. Hope he turns out to be a good’un so he stays in the series.
  2. No, I didn’t think she was either. Not one of her wisest moves, however, when she well knew that Oscar is an idiot. I was really surprised when she said Oscar has always taken care of her financial affairs. Oh Agnes, Agnes… Still shaking my head.

    S05.E05: The Tiger

I’m loving Dot… crazy girl. 😁 I’m hoping she is the one that ultimately takes Roy down.
  4. Maybe Dasheill will get a backache.
  5. Fastest courtship in the west! (Well, east.) “Nice to meet you, Reverend Forté.” “Oh look at this beautiful painting.” “I do!” I was expecting them to court for most of the season if anything was going to come of it. I suppose the week after the wedding Ada will have a miracle baby. 😛
  6. The chemistry between them is incredible. More of them and less of Bradley please. I’m tired of her soap opera storylines.
  7. A little eye candy for us sighted folk? Most of it was suitably drab so I suppose they wanted to throw in a bit of colour for us. Agree they were gorgeous I watched it as it was put up and enjoyed it. Yes, Tom Mison was fun. Different to his more smoldering role in Sleepy Hollow with his British accent and it took me a whole to realize it was the same actor. Jason Momoa was good in it (loved his growls of disagreement 😄 ) and Sylvia Hoeks was the highlight. Maghra was a bit meh, character and actress, but I guess we needed her to fill out the story. The teenage kids I could have done without (teenagers… awful people! Me included, at the time. 😄).
  8. Great list! As far as number 7, I couldn’t care less about either of them (boring and bad actors both). Hopefully it does blossom and they get hitched and leave town for sites unknown.
  9. Of course this is true, but I personally think it’s the acting. I just don’t think she has it. She should stick to modelling. Now, Mamie Gummer is following in her mother’s footsteps quite nicely. Have seen her in a few things now and she’s always been good.
  10. Ha, Snazzy! I say the two cops are next. 😉 In the end, Liv opts for a new career, realizing her true talent… Assassin!
  11. A “chilling” secret? An affair is chilling? I thought he was going to end up being a serial killer. Or at least deep into S&M. 😛
  12. And I yours! 😄 Mine is the from the very first scene of the series… “People disappear all the time. Young girls run away from home… …Most are found eventually. Disappearances, after all, have explanations. Usually.” I loved that introduction with the hills fading in and the ominous music. I always like when Claire narrates, right from that moment on.
  13. But that’s why we love Young Ian (stress the “young”). He’s such a cutie and adorable (love his cute smile), rather than sexy. He was more so in the earlier seasons, but he’ll always have that boyishness to him. As for the quick falling in love, they’re speeding up everything to a ridiculous degree because they’re trying to get through too much of the story now that they’ve decided to end the show. The trip to Scotland was the most jarring. “Claire, we’re off to Scotland!” Take a breath… “Land ho!”
  14. Have they announced (or alluded to, at least) when next year it will return? January? April? The fall? (Nooooooo!)
  15. Guess what, guys? I think I can travel through the stones… I heard the buzzing clear as a bell. Scotland of yore, here I come! A few good moments in the episode. Seeing the stones and travellers go through never gets old. Jamie talking to William, then William later acknowledging that Jamie is an upstanding person. Ian smooching Rachel (even if he did get a slap for it.) Rollo getting a scrumptious treat of goose fat, to Claire’s chagrin. And the look on Claire’s face when she realized she was shaking Benedict Arnold’s hand. But the war scenes were a snoozefest for me. Thank goodness that’s done with. The last minute was the best part. When Jamie said “We got our wish, we’re going to Scotland,” he was speaking for most of us here. Finally! I’m so looking forward to the second half of the season.
  16. It was like a typical Friday date night… and your date stands you up! Thanks for that blast to the past, Starz. 😞
  17. Claire is, yes. But I was referring to Diana Gabaldon. I was replying to another poster who commented on the author’s bad move (paraphrasing) to bring the story to America. 🙂
  18. I guess because she's American. But I absolutely agree. I want them back in Scotland. I don't find the American parts interesting. It may be because I'm not in the U.S., maybe it holds more interest for Americans. But it's Scotland that I preferred, or at least in the UK or Europe.
  19. She overcame it by jumping into it! Considering they don’t know for sure all the ins and outs, she could have ended up goodness knows where and when. I just think knowing as much as she does about it, the smart thing to do is avoid it. The girl’s got to be more careful! (Not getting ornery here, just debating. 🙂 )
  20. Thanks. I thought she might have had a brooch on the shawl or a hairpin.
  21. They think you do. They have also always said that they don’t know for sure how it works and that you need to focus (can’t be drunk, etc.) It could be that Brianna wasn’t focussing on anyone or anything so didn’t travel. As for Claire’s first time, she had Jack Randall on her mind from Frank’s stories. Not surprising he was the first person she encountered. We just don’t know for certain how it works. I can’t remember, did Claire have a gem when she inadvertently went through the stones the first time? Seems she was pretty bare essentials in a dress and shawl.
