New episode...I mused that Mina was doing so much work at the house herself because no contractors in Indianapolis will work with her anymore. The nook drama was ridiculous. Why is no one actually managing the work? And Finley babysits Charlotte now? What doesn't that poor woman have to do for Mina?

That makes me think (and agree with other posters) that they got a free wedding venue out of appearing on the show. It's not like they could've fit more than 10 people in the carriage house for a reception, anyway.

This was the most unbelievable part of this bonkers series. She made enough money for them to survive losing $1.4M on the house? With that pottery?

S14.E04: Storage Scholars; Expedition Subsahara; Ghia; Woosh

Mark does it, too, with his "shot clock". Someone else pointed out on these forums that the Sharks would never do business like that themselves. -
I watched this all in one day today. Thanks, unemployment. I was kind of pissed at the beginning that it was so different from the real life story, but I got past that and just started enjoying it for the fluff that it is. The cast was fantastic and seemed like they were having a blast. Mia Farrow creeped me out, so good job there, I guess. It was a little too twisty at the end for my taste, but eh.

Who brings their wedding venue owner to a dress fitting?

I've only just started this, but they've already made one glaring mistake: the letters weren't mailed. The letter in this episode is in a stamped envelope, and Naomi Watts's character (the wife) asks the detective about DNA evaluation on the stamp and envelope seal. That seems like a big miss, because part of what makes the real story so sinister and creepy is that someone was hand-delivering the letters, placing them in the Broadduses' mailbox. ETA: Now that I'm further in, I see that this series is taking huge liberties with the real-life story.

They did, but a client isn't a "friend". Every single person to whom she sells a home is called her "friend". I guess I have a different definition of "friend" than she does.
-
Well, that happened. All that drama for them to finish on time after all. Quelle surprise. The stairs were cool (but scary, and no rail?) but overall? It didn't look very "Victorian". The outside of the house, apart from the turret, looked pretty generic. I can't believe how much money Mina put into that whole project. I forgot to mention this last week, but it was odd that Mina went to the cake (catering) tasting with the couple and even odder that this week, she went to the bride's dress fitting and awkwardly stood around. The bride is a hairstylist, and Mina is her client and vice versa. Mina acts like everyone in Indianapolis is her "friend". Just because you interact with someone doesn't make them your friend. The "speakeasy" looked tiny. What was the deal with the one whole side behind the couch that was curtained off?

Karen was a criminal defense lawyer, but yeah, she should absolutely know someone who could defend Mina. My mother was a paralegal for some 30-odd years and can still recommend lawyers.

Oh, no—she may have to sell one of her five houses.

"Fun Dad" is off on his yearly trip with his college friends to the Pennsylvania wilderness (I don't actually know where they go...some guy's uncle's place), and the cats have quickly realized that they don't get to eat at 3am. I fed them at 10:30 last night and they didn't wake me until 6am. They know who the sucker is around here.😂

S14.E03: Halloween Moments; Stakt Mat; Mama O's; Create A Castle

I've never had kimchi, but if it would give me the flawless skin that Mama O has, I would eat it every day. -
I love her! Such a pretty girl!

And futhermore, will someone please explain to me the point of a long-sleeved shirt with an exposed midriff? I'm old.

Because I have to know everything (so says my boyfriend), I looked Finley up on LinkedIn and saw she has no construction experience (which, I guess to be fair, neither did Mina when she started, but she wasn't trying to run an established company). Finley worked in development for Special Olympics and then as a daycare teacher. I'm going to assume she was a friend of a friend to get the job with Two Chicks. When Mina took Jack into that side room where there were stacks of pizzas, I thought of this meme: Also, Mina SUCKS for acting like she did to the Iron Timbers guys. "Design what you want" but "we hate what you HAND CARVED." Both her and MJ acting like brats who didn't like their dinner was obnoxious. I hope those guys get paid very well and seriously consider dropping Mina as a client.

That's mama Lexi with her "arm" on Erin. It's funny how many pictures I have with them like that. Lexi's definitely the alpha cat, and she lets Erin know when she gets out of line.

They have the softest fur! Erin, the daughter (white chest patch), lets me rub her belly, and it's pure heaven!

Here's the updated article about the Broadduses' ordeal. This was originally written in November 2018, and is referenced by @BetterButter, above. It's a long piece but very interesting and super creepy. I'm excited for this show!

I'm going to start saying that about myself.

S14.E02: Woobles; Banana Phone; Turbo Trusser; Stealth Bros. & Co.

My dad puts his used insulin needles in an empty single-serve soft drink bottle that he keeps on top of the fridge. That's hardly safe, but the V.A. doesn't give out biohazard containers. -

I was wondering if they actually thought people are going to carry around fake bananas in their pockets? [Insert "happy to see me" joke here.] Like, the "joke" might be funny the first time, but after that, you just look like an asshole who doesn't stop trying to make people laugh over a dumb gag. Or a crazy person on the street talking into a banana. -

I've seen some stupid shit on Shark Tank, but that banana phone takes the cake. I can't believe those two bros got on the show with that Spencer's novelty toy.
