  1. Delurking to say the premiere date has been announced for January 15: http://www.fox.com/article/fox-announces-winter-premiere-dates Also, there's a new cookbook: http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/features/food/3879909-test-kitchen-new-cookbook-brings-hells-kitchen-your-kitchen Is it sad that I've missed this show?
  2. Delurking to say that, as much as I did not like the Regurgitator's act and as much as I did like Piff, the top 5 were the right 5 (out of these 10 finalists). I do prefer seeing professional acts that just quite haven't had their really big break that catapults them mainstream. I feel like they have paid their dues, and as a result we viewers get better entertainment. (Usually; I agree that this year most of them did not bring their best to the finals.) Piff - I hope that you'll be on an AGT Tour some year. Weirdly, I'd like to see a mash-up with you and the KriStef Brothers. PS - when does Mr. Piffles get to meet Scooby???? Gary Vider - I don't watch sitcoms, but I would totally watch a sitcom with Gary and his roommate. The Misadventures of Gary and His Plus One.
  3. I don't know which is the right thread to post this in, so since we're talking judges here: Count me in as someone who does not want to see Piers come back. How about Penn Jillette as a replacement for Howard? An experienced performer taking the voice of reason role (without being Piers mean).
  4. Delurking to say that I wish they had waited until after this year's season had concluded to do this retrospective. We did enjoy watching, but at times it felt more like a commercial for the current judges. So many good acts were overlooked or barely had a 1-second glimpse (Tom Cotter). I wish they had recognized all the past season winners and runners-up. For example, I think it's a shame that they ignored Michael Grimm, the season's actual winner, to recognize Jackie Evancho. I get that she was part of a segment about youth performers, but still. I hope the producers do a DVD with more and longer highlights for every season. There are entire performances (such as Prince Poppycock and the KrisStef Brothers) that I'd love to watch again. Sometimes I think this show succeeds despite what the producers do to mess it up.
  5. Delurking to share this story about the show doing its own CMAs for the November 19 episode, with Eric Close directing. http://www.rollingstone.com/tv/news/nashville-cma-awards-the-band-perry-joe-nichols-trisha-yearwood-20141022
  6. No more cliffhangers before every freakin' commercial break!!!
  7. Hello - long time TWoP/MightyBigTV lurker, happy to have a new forum home. I've always enjoyed reading the boards and about the TARCons. Too shy to post there, giving it a go now. Thank you, PTV, for making another refugee feel welcome.
  8. Mr. Shaja and I went to the Sing -Off Live tour last week in Milwaukee, and it was an excellent show. Featured Home Free, Vocal Play and the Filharmonic, with a guest appearance by The Fannin Family from a previous season. Yes, they did "I'm Alright" with the gopher! They closed the show with all three season 4 groups joining in an UNMIKED choral performance of Hallelujah. With the Pabst Theatre's acoustics, it was incredible. Also in Milwaukee news: PTX was announced to be one of the ground-stage headliners for Summerfest, our summer music festival.
