  1. Pure speculation on my part, but I'm wondering if the 4th couple was added in because Kate has the gumption to end things early and the show knows from the season with Heather and Derek that they really need at least three couples to develop storylines and fill the time.
  2. The show has been resistant when it comes to interracial matches. While Luke as a person gives off red flags to the point that I would not have selected him for the show, if a potential participant says they primarily have interracial relationships, then the experts should have taken that into consideration.
  3. I find it rather cliché for people to just assume he is gay because he doesn't like Kate. Like I said, he reminds me of Nick. Nick was terrible to Sonia during most of their season. I remember some speculating that he was gay at the time. In the end that wasn't the case, he just wanted a woman as terrible as he was to be with. Even if Luke is gay, his behavior was just rude. Gay, straight, or bi there is no justification for how straight up rude he was towards Kate.
  4. Maybe but I would think that a 31 year old would know better than to go on reality tv if they are closeted. Especially when a past fling can just expose you to a gossip blog. IMO he is just a douche who doesn't feel the need to act like a decent person even if he isn't into someone. Kate wasn't who he expected, so he felt entitled to treat her poorly.
  5. Kate seems to know Luke isn't into her. If he was into her, he would have at least kissed her cheek instead of acting like a jerk about the whole thing. He reminds me of Nick.
  6. The show has had background check issues since the beginning so I'm inclined to believe the producers were aware of Mia's issues. This same show cast Ryan D. from season 2 who had a shady history and David from season 3 with a previous arrest for domestic violence.
  7. It is unrealistic for one parent to know the sex of the baby and the other to not know. Even if the parent who knows agrees to keep it a secret, there is no guarantee they won't slip up in normal conversation. It doesn't even have to be a big dramatic event like Ashley and Anthony (which screams producer meddling). It could just be something as simple as them talking and accidentally saying the sex. I feel either both have to know or both have to be in the dark for it to work and avoid hard feelings.
  8. Except that pattern could all be predetermined by the producers to fit the narrative they want for this couple. People insisted from the beginning that Ashley was baby crazy and would get pregnant asap but then it didn't happen that way.
  9. I saw it that way too. Everything about it was too obvious. The money must be enough to have made it seem worth it.
  10. How long have they known each other? I find it odd that there are expectations that Danielle should be revealing all her feelings and doing this and that, when they haven't known each other that long. If they had met in a traditional way, there would not be those expectations so early on. The unplanned pregnancy makes it worse because it causes an even greater emotional conflict.
  11. Shawniece and Jephte need to call it a day on the marriage and just focus on having a healthy co-parenting relationship.
  12. I think you give Dave way too much credit.
  13. Double bagging those kinds of grocery bags actually makes them more likely to break.
  14. None of the unplanned babies surprise me. I spent a day shadowing the medical staff at the health department, I could tell that they frequently wanted to literally slap some sense into people who admitted to being careless with contraception despite already having one or more children they were struggling with.
  15. I feel bad for Amber because she probably feels as though she was set up to fail. They matched her with someone who has no true interest in being a husband. So I can't slam her for being upset when it seems clear that Danielle and Bobby were the only match with any potential, while the she and others were there to pad the show with drama.
  16. I think they meant that Tristan doesn't see interested in anything but looks. He cared about looks and looks that he deemed acceptable are what he got. He had no interest in anything beyond the physical appearance . If he had been interested in good character and intelligence, perhaps he would have gotten someone like that.
  17. Who said that looks are all pretty women have to offer? That is all Mia seemed to have because she lied so much about stalking her ex.
  18. Does the show truly have the budget to pay that much?
  19. Precisely. When people give colorism a pass, they are ignoring the ugly history behind it or they don't care about that history. They are ignoring the self-harm that can result from it.
  20. Except it is not remotely the same.
  21. Tristan fetishizes ethnically ambiguous women. He wants to whine about being called out for his colorism but it is true. He doesn't want to be judged by something he said but he meant those words. He told the world who he really is in those few seconds.
  22. They matched people who didn't live close to each other in season 2. That didn't work out well either.
  23. Or the guy from the Gym is just a creep who disses every woman he hooks up with to his bros. Not sure why it makes a woman look bad that a guy behaves like that, since it says way more about his character than it does hers.
  24. Is it? He still comes across as a douche.
  25. Maybe but I think it is more about reducing online hate. Several participants have received a lot of online harassment including death threats. I think some are just hoping to limit things by keeping the official split off camera.
