  1. Any chance Bran worged into Drogon and perpetrated the destruction of KL as a part of a plot to place the Starks in firm command of he 7 kingdoms?
  2. I wish there had been a scene where Samwell lugs some books he had stolen that told the tales of the dragonlords of old into a meeting with Daenerys- "you see your Grace, they would strike from on high-out of the sun- and take their foes by surprise. And flying low at great speed they were very hard to hit. And I'm sorry how I reacted to the news about my jerk dad and idiot brother...'
  3. I was really surprised by how things turned out at KL. I've allowed myself to really be a Daenerys fan and I really thought she had done it! Hoping against hope she ends as Queen of the 7 Kingdoms- albeit a feared and unloved one- vs getting cut down by (likely) a Stark....
  4. I think it would be interesting if Bran had warged into Drogon when the bells tolled. This has all been a long game on his part to get the Starks in power.
  5. Makes me think it'll happen next season?
  6. And maybe if the Children of the Forest left a bestiary entry or notes of some kind detailing how to kill the Night King. He's got dragonglass in him, I worry that won't work
  7. Thank you! That's driving me kinda crazy. Because as outlandish as Operation Kidnap a Wight and Bring it Back (Operation KaWaBiB) was, Operation Knowing what they will do let's lay a trap and that way I get a dragon to burn the wall down with...what might plan B have been?
  8. Quoted for truth
  9. My heart breaks for Dany losing one of her children. That said- for my enjoyment of the story the Night King had to have something to combat dragons with or there is no tension in that conflict. He's obviously high level with powerful magics so I have no issue with the IceStinger missile... Were my platoon in the 82nd with them on that island we would have all drowned- we'd have joined in the rock throwing and not had an island left! im not sure where the Sansa/Arya thing is going, but I trust it will be cool and surprising. I'm amazed at the acting there, given the two are so close in real life. I like to think they giggled and hugged afterwords. Im not enjoying Tyrion this season- does he own stock in Tarly Family Business LLC?
  10. I'm quite ok with Dany putting down the Tarleys- decapitated or burned- potato/potatoh. Recidivism rates of house lords is quite high, and with a food shortage you don't need dudes on life sentences. Varys and Tyrion pissing and mianing about it bugged me. The political machinations tend to lose me a bit, so big thanks to the forum for putting so much explanation on here. Joy to read all that. I don't blame the actors. But pulling meaning from subtle glances and such is beyond my craft. I sport a big crush on Gilly, so it kinda hurt my heart to have her shot down there. Very curious how the band of adventurer types will fare on their mission. Could you lop off the wight's appendages and carry out the torso and head backpack style (make sure the head faces away) and deliver it's complaining ass as proof? Not that I see anything proving to be mind changing evidence for Cersei. Which makes me think winning the war for the throne then presenting a united Westeros against the NK isn't a wiser play. The WW haven't proven to be a time sensitive threat these first 6 1/2 seasons...
  11. I have to agree- sometimes they are...distracting? But with her battle braids and war gown? outfit?- I have found Emilia Clarke stunning! Great work from the costuming etc folks
  12. I live in constant fear that somebody is going to bend the knee, then stand up and stab khaleesi in her beautiful face!
  13. Took me a long time for this (and do I get my necromancy chain link for resurrecting this thread?) but I've reconciled the horrible performance of the Yara:Theon fleet- Greyjoys are pirates, reavers. Their only thoughts are to offense. On what they consider an administrative movement they are lax and unconcerned about attack (who attaches pirates?). Enter the greatest pirate the world has known. His amazing skills and instincts plus their natural disdain for awareness led to the surprise. I imagine if the roles were reversed a similar surprise could have been sprung on him. Plus no one on his shop can shout a warning ?
  14. A wise man once said 'a monarch is only as strong as his or her generals'. Ok, I just said it (call that my Tyrion impression) But Cersei has had the world's greatest pirate, diplomatically swung the best living general in Westoros, and the council of her brother- an experienced commander in his own right. All that added to her own insight and instinct makes for a strong command group.

  16. Totally agree- team Cersei has had the upper hand
  17. I'm uncertain on dragon physiology in the world- is there a limit to how often they can breath fire? Back when I played Dungeons and Dragons it was three times per day. Demonstrated that isn't the limit here, just wondering if there is one
  18. I'll start by answering my own question- to have a banter between characters and to show Bronn is good at everything. Question- where is the scorpion crew? You'd be training people in their use, and those dedicated crews would always be around that weapon. Thinking two crankers, a loader, gunner, and one or two spotters. As a former infantryman and military history buff that was making me a little bit crazy...
  19. I think the proximity to KL is why. Wagons are too slow and they'd be harried all the way to their beachhead by Lannister forces. I see the dothraki/dragon action there to be a raid- destroy and kill then extract.
  20. No basis for this aside from my wild speculation...at a key point in a major battle the commander of the Golden Company removes his helmet...and its Dany's ex boyfriend. He turns the tide for Team notCersei
  21. For my sanity I'm assuming there were multiple scorpions in the caravan- only one was left for Bronn to man... I'm very happy that dragons- while very effective- are killable (in this case hurtable). Keeps tension in the war front. Dany's operation was a raid so I'm down with destroying the caravan. That close to KL it would have been tough to get those wagons out. Delighted to see dothraki bows! Wondering if they'll have problems against knights- Lots of callbacks this season and I'm remembering Jorah talking along those lines regarding plate and the favored dothraki weapon Lannisters did get a few licks in, but broken lines against elite light cavalry is a bad beat Loved Jaime taking the chance there, still having trouble wrapping my brain around Bronn's save. Not so much why as how The amazing battle PLUS great dialogue PLUS the fantastic sparring with Arya and Brienne makes this the most rewatchable episode I can remember
  22. Especially to be able to swap out the whip for 1v1 combat! But I really think they were too low 'level' to meet Euron in pitched combat, especially singly. I'm seeing him as a 'boss level encounter' type character, and there was no one in that fleet that was a match for him, especially on his terms and 'turf'
  23. In my head the Sand Snakes are skilled assassins- accustomed to working in concert against a disadvantaged target- and gaining the dagger/spear/whip synergy you can only have in a fantasy setting. In the pitched battle they did ok against the rank and file Greyjoy troops, but separately they had no chance against mighty Euron. All together against him outside a tavern? Maybe they scratch him down. Speaking of Euron (and I readily admit to being easily entertained)- I loved his crashing in on the boarding device, howling at the moon! And I'll accept his status as the world's greatest pirate allowing the surprise assault.
