  1. And how she insisted that this was another "dick over" (first I've heard that phrase) with plenty of sepia shots showing the three of them *agreeing* on a '70s theme....I so enjoy how these people laugh at themselves.
  2. This, this, 1,000 times this! One of my ride-or-die friends passed away, one lives 4 hours away, so I guess this show brings back the good times for me. Its like they say, "Good friends laugh together-best friends laugh til they snort" -- and no white powder's involved, BTW. I do hope the gals & Josh stay true to themselves and if production tries to influence them away from what's genuine, then they say "enough" and close up shop. I'd rather have only a few episodes of true fun than several seasons of inauthenticity that leads to misery.
  3. I far prefer that over women onstage trying to out-mean each other. At this point I've only watched 3 or 4 episodes, so my opinion may change. Right now, they remind me so much of a few gal-groups I've known IRL that it's just a ton of fun to see them clown around on each other.
  4. As someone who really dislikes hot weather, I'm agape st the couple who left Washington state for Texas -- but happy for an economic uptick anywhere!
  5. I was thinking a really skinny Laura Linney! Gosh, I love this show! Only wish I'd started watching earlier!!!!
  6. Survival is survival. What qualifies as horrific, and how horrific must be a negative life event to qualify a person as survivor? It varies. Financial security is gained by a variety of means and at this point, Lu's financial situation is probably much better than my own, which was achieved thru boring old work. Not every mom provides well for her children. Yes, I admire Lu in some respects. Whatever her motivation in marrying whosis, she did and now they're divorcing and I can't believe I've written this much about it.
  7. "Why get married?" Get married for: -- the optimism of it / love of Tom -- the fun of it -- the storyline Luann is many things, including a survivor and I dare say even a prevailer. She has enough sense to get herself comfortable financially and her mother love has made sure her children are okay, and then she lives in the moment! I really admire her for that. "But the marriage likely wont work / may not work!" -- Well, let's be optimistic and have a great party and a storyline and see what happens! Her Feet: Luann lands on them.
  8. Eh, it struck me as sauce for the gander...almost literally. I get unbearably tired of the women referring to themselves and each other as girls!
  9. @Evil Queen, testify! I've visited around Waco because ninjas were billeted there but it's too hot for me to go back. There is indeed no place like Texas and because of its size, I should really say "no placeS like Texas." All tend to be hot, however. My guess for the mansion rental: they're looking for corporate groups as much as multi-couple parties. My guess for not making it a B&B: their first B&B with resident managers nextdoor is not producing the profit margins they want. Again: just my guesses.
  10. Interesting invitation on Erin's journal from yesterday, saying they need a couple more homes to redo. I'd have thought they had all the marks lined up before starting!
  11. If I never read another succinct slam against these two characters, this would have been enough. I get that bringing the drama and stirring the stuff is part of what makes a show like this interesting but those two are just beyond mean about it. I get the distinct impression that while the others bitch and moan about -- and even yell at -- each other but they perceive that it's for a storyline and they know when to quit. B & R, I think, don't care if someone's life is badly damaged (I'm trying to modulate vocabulary here) IRL. Not going to indulge in layman's diagnosis-by-tv-screen but I will say they (and Sonja) really don't seem to care a bit if someone gets hurt. YMMV I noticed the grownup version of my favoritest winter party dress but not the cat ears. Didn't B wear cat ears w a cat suit? Did anybody see Bernadette anywhere else the night that was taped? ?
  12. If we hadn't *just* had the floors redone At Long Last!, I'd be on that like Chimp on a cockroach!
  13. Good point! I'm currently in a "if you got'em, show'em" phase and will be hanging some artwork I've had squirreled away. As I do, I'll play around with furniture placement! My style is not as open as Joprah's but less full than Erin Napier's.....
  14. Huh... I will! Worth a try. Although like yours, my family room is smallish and one drawback to putting the sofa in the middle is: nowhere to plug in the lamps for reading. Maybe battery-powered lanterns. ? Give the place that rustic, campground feel. Hee!
  15. The bartenders on WWHL had 3 shirts in support of Lu: #istandwithluann Chic c'est la free ...& the last one along the lines of, Traded countess for wife and now in charge of her life I kinda would wear any and all out in public, just to see how many and what kind of reactions came along!!
  16. Any insights into this formula would surely surely be appreciated by me. The ninjas and I tend to push every available stick of furniture against a wall. The resulting empty middle Comes in handy for fight practice but we'd love to feel more like we're in a home & not a dojo.....
  17. @Evil Queen, I'd still like to know. Mileages vary, ain't it wonderful?
  18. Proof that I am putting off thinking about something truly important in my life: I have decided that Andy and bravo knew about the split before she announced it. In fact, probably well before the announcement was made. Look at all the attention and discussion and publicity that it and the show and the looming reunion are getting right now, not just the split but the timing of it. In other words, I think that shifty eyed Siamese cat was in on it all along. For what it's worth!
  19. Love it! They say Erin's an introvert so maybe the chatter is her nervous way of compensating? In any case, I can live the rest of my life quite happily without her screaming like an eagle when Ben uncovers hardwood floors. OTOH when about jumped his bones at the reveal of a gorgeous table he'd handcrafted, I was tickled. It seems like A genuine moment of her being just absolutely bowled over by the craftsmanship of the man she loves.
  20. Good points, all. This is where FU and to a degree Hometown fall short of Love It Or List It. It's interesting – – and instructive – – do you have the hosts pull out the unglamorous repairs and upgrades with the, "there will be $20,000 for the plumbing repairs underneath the foundation… " The other thing that makes me crazy about FU & HT is the elephant in the room of furnishings. Sure, the houses look great after show JoJoprah and Erin have put their touches on them – – but what do all those pieces of furniture and accessories add to the cost? I don't think it would turn viewers off to know.
  21. Hadn't they requested no gifts but donations to charities? No backsies on those! 8-D
