  1. I thought that the response on the 3/31/14 episode was perfect. It was one of the funniest bits ever. And Michelle Malkin really did write a book "In Defense of Internment". Oh myyyy.
  2. Hi. Long time TWoP lurker here. I'll probably lurk more than I post. I saw my first episode on PBS in 1970. The station showed Pertwee but then I don't remember seeing another Doctor until they started showing Tom Baker. I also saw 5 and 6. I've watched as many of the classic shows as possible but I know I still have some holes in my classic viewing. I love all the Doctors. I miss them when they leave and take a minute to get used to the next one before I love him too. My favorite is whichever one is on my screen at the moment because there is only one Doctor. I know that many people have strong preferences for one Doctor over another (or companions, showrunner, etc.) which is cool but I really hope these threads don't digress into what I've seen at some Who sites- the fans of X in the majority on that site bully everyone else into leaving.
  3. Hello. I was a long time lurker at TWoP. The Daily Show is never miss television. It's rather disturbing that I must rely on comedians to cut through the crap that the networks try to offer up as news. I don't know if I'll post much - I usually watch each episode the next morning over coffee - but I'll be reading the threads so thanks in advance for your insight.
  4. I love Colbert. I missed the episode when it first aired so I read about the shitstorm before I saw the remark in context. When I watched the show I played that segment back a few times. I thought it was a perfect way to show not only the offensive use of language but the addition of insult to injury by people that either don't get it or don't give a crap. The best barb in the segment was the story of the backhoe that was only partially donated. I'm not much of a writer but I certainly recognize satire. Colbert uses it very effectively but, like his Word segments, sometimes even a transcript doesn't tell the real story. I'm disappointed in the rude Colbert defenders.
  5. Hi. I was a long time lurker at TWoP and always enjoyed popping in and seeing what witty things you were coming up with. I read the LH books when I was a child and bought a set for my daughter who has passed them along to my granddaughter. I watched the first few seasons of the show but the TWoP forum has made me regret not continuing to watch as it derailed. I have to struggle sometimes to find the context. So I will probably just continue to lurk but I wanted to holler a quick hello.
  6. This is my first Blacklist post and I doubt it will be a popular one. Is it okay if I don't totally praise Spader in this role? I've always liked him - still do - and he's clearly a wonderful actor but my eyes and ears can't stop seeing and hearing Alan Shore. Spader is the main reason I keep watching but I'm starting to feel like I'd be happier watching reruns of The Practice and Boston Legal.
