I think you mean Disturbed doing the cover of Sound of Silence. Definitely goosebump territory. You can go down another rabbit hole watching other reactors watch that for the first time.

I didn't even know reaction videos were a "thing". I still haven't watched the twins enough. I need to have the weekend free to watch youtube!

  2. I’m so sorry for everyone that has losses, illness & storm damage. Can it be mid 2021 already with a vaccine available for all?

On a brighter note, happy birthday to everyone who has celebrated recently. We were to go to my granddaughter’s 3rd bday party last Saturday,  but son & DIL had gone camping the weekend prior & one in the group tested positive. Son & DIL didn’t interact with her closely, but they’re not taking chances.

Has anyone else been watching these brothers discover classic music--

I could watch these boys all day.

Yes!!! I loved their reaction to “In the Air Tonight”  by Phil Collins. Although sad they haven’t heard some of these songs before!

I'm not really a musical fan, so despite being a history buff and a music fan, I never could get into Hamilton. I like Sweeney Todd and Fiddler on the Roof, and that's about it. I just don't cope well psychologically with people breaking into song. LOL

I love musicals, but not history so much. 😂

I think I'm the Hamilton outlier of the group. I finally saw it on Disney+ and really enjoyed it (Daveed Diggs was my fave) but I haven't felt the need to watch it again. Instead, it made me want to read the book LMM based it on and learn more about the Sculyer sisters. I read the Federalist Papers a few years ago and it was fascinating.

I actually thought I would be reading and getting a lot more home projects done while stuck in quarantine but instead I'm watching tons of sports, now that some are back. I feel really unproductive sometimes.

If you think you're the outlier, I'm on another planet. DH and I started watching Hamilton the week it was on Disney+ and paused it when I had to get up. Neither of us has any interest in resuming.

I'm glad you and the boys enjoyed it.  I will certainly be watching it again.  This weekend, I'll likely check out a new film, that is similar.  I'll let you know if I find one that is as entertaining.  In the meantime, I'd suggest a VERY entertaining movie musical.  It's a different kind of thing, but, still very captivating. I've seen multiple times and will watch it many more.   Lots of fun stuff like Crockodile Rock,  Saturday Night, etc.

I've seen Rocketman; loved the music! Have you seen Yesterday?

Something that covid has taken from me are my concerts! This is HUGE to me.  Music feeds my soul. It’s hard to explain.  With my crew (friends who are like family that share my passion.) we thrive on the music, the sharing, the camaraderie,  etc.  If you want a super experience check out 25th Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame performances on Amazon prime.  OMG!!! I can’t describe how good it is. Takes you to another time and place! I don’t think you have to like rock n roll. Lol It includes, Crosby, Stills, Nash, James Taylor, Bruce, Stones, Sting, U 2, Stevie, Smokey, Raitt, Fergie, Simon, Garfunkel, Sam Moore of Soul Man!!!    I’m watching now......awesome!

@SunnyBeBe Thank you for the recommendation! I watched it this morning with my grandsons while I was sitting. We all loved it.  They're only 18 months, but we have to move beyond Elmo. I'd be happy to hear of any others you've found.

However, I have August and September, and most of October, in which to enjoy my outdoor walks. And, I'm hatching plans to get out of here and go somewhere warm for at least January and February. It has to do with the old minivan I bought. My first two-night camping trip in it (to a state park 4 hours from here) is coming up in a couple of weeks. I hope that I like the experience, and hope to do more little trips like that in the next few months. Both as a nice break from sitting at home, and as practice to fine-tune my setup and learn from experience. Because I'd love to figure out an itinerary, probably AZ and NM, for camping in the van on extended road trips in January and February.

I'd assumed that the second row seats in the minivan would be too heavy for me to remove unassisted. Well, hallelujah! I managed to do that myself; got them out and stored away. May need help to replace them if I ever want to do that. I'm planning to pay a mechanic to do the tricky job of removing the third row seats. They are permanently installed but I want them gone. They fold flat but if they aren't there, there's a nice sized storage area I can make use of.

So between messing with my old minivan and poking my nose outdoors more often, and working, and talking to people on the phone, I'm hanging onto my so-called sanity. But damn, I have relatives in Houston who've had COVID, and cancer, and I can't go see them. I have good friends here who are in bad health and have basically (and prudently) self-quarantined, and I haven't seen them for months now. All of that hurts my heart.

I am so jealous of your planned adventures! Camping in a minivan is exactly what I could picture myself doing. My DH on the other hand, not so much. We were all set to buy a pop up camper when he announced he didn't really think he could tow a camper. We've never towed anything, but I assumed we could practice. We have a tent, cots and all the stuff we need to camp, I just need to convince him we should go!

I Googled it. Can you move over so I can lay next to you?

Arithmetic. the symbol (⋅), (×), or (∗) between two mathematical expressions, denoting multiplication of the second expression by the first. In certain algebraic notations the sign is suppressed and multiplication is indicated by immediate juxtaposition or contiguity...

I started noticing it when you using Excel on the computer.  It's part of the keypad on my computer.

I did something new. I 'shopped blind'. I did this with the company named Two Blind Brothers. The two young men are losing their sight. The started the company as a way to raise money toward finding a cure for blindness, I am assuming for the condition that is taking their vision. What you do is go to their website and and place an order. You have three price levels to choose from. You do not know what you are getting...you are shopping blind just as they do. Some of the items are made by visually impaired people and all profits go the finding a cure. I bought the lowest level,$35.00 and received my items today. I am happy with what I received, well except for the color the items are black. If I don't forget I will order again in three months, they chance the items every quarter.

This was intriguing so i just ordered something for my granddaughter!

@Ijustwantsomechips I am so sorry. I was diagnosed with endometriosis at 19, and after another surgery at 27 my doctor said I would never get pregnant on my own. I was BITTER. So very bitter. I did not handle it with any grace whatsoever. I would get so mad at anyone who accidentally got pregnant, for sure not go to a baby shower, and could not handle anyone complaining about their children.

At age 31, with only one ovary, I had my only pregnancy, and it was twins. I am now in a twin mom group, and many if not most were infertile and used fertility drugs. Many of them were BITTER like me.

Infertility made me a bad friend and bad family member, but I will say that I am so deeply appreciative to have children that I don’t whine and complain like some people do. I think I enjoy it more.

On the other hand, I think I would have far less anxiety if I didn’t have children. Climate change, nuclear war, even pandemic, wouldn’t be so scary if I only had to worry about myself. I had somewhat made my peace that I wouldn’t have children, so sometimes it still hits me that I have to worry about two extra people for the rest of my life.

Thank you for sharing this. My children are probably around your age as I have young grandchildren. My DH and I often talk about the world in which they'll grow up, so I get your anxiety. It's been a crappy year and I pray that we see more safe and stable times ahead.

For the poster complaining about her husband's chewing. I'm the same way.  I CANNOT stand it!  I'm not sure where I saved this from, but I bet there's a kit on Etsy!

You really are “my people”!!! My DH chewing irritates me so much I looked it up.  From WebMd:
“Misophonia is a disorder in which certain sounds trigger emotional or physiological responses that some might perceive as unreasonable given the circumstance. Those who have misophonia might describe it as when a sound “drives you crazy.” Their reactions can range from anger and annoyance to panic and the need to flee.  The disorder is sometimes called selective sound sensitivity syndrome.”

I don’t think I’m quite to the point of fleeing, but I’ve got the anger down pat! 🤣

Well, last night was a nightmare until past two a.m. Apparently the new way to show how big your junk is is to buy massive fireworks and set them off all night long. We live on three acres surrounded by other large semi-rural lots, but the noise was still ridiculous.

At one point there were three continual wang waving contests going at once. The smoke was so thick the air quality alert was activated and you could smell it inside with all the windows closed. Why they couldn’t stick with the traditional 4th activities of driving huge diesel trucks up and down the main road and fisting Budweiser by the case I do not know.

    We have decided...we’re moving.

    👿

I was really surprised how many personal fireworks shows were going on in my neighborhood. And they're not even legal here! Really disappointed in people here. Many people had asked on a town facebook page that they had nervous pets or were veterans with PTSD. Madness.

Wow, Ivy was pretty articulate and on-tune for only being a year old. Poor kid, she obviously doesn't like being filmed and she's got years of it to go. When TLC finally pulls the plug on them, Jessa will fill that vacuum with YouTube posts.

She did a great job. I have 18 month grandsons that aren't near that level of speech & I don't think I've ever heard them try and sing.
