i have no clue -- tell me!

I’m not an expert but this the general ides. When you swipe up and click on any links the influencer, Jinger, gets a commission. The worst part is it leaves cookies on your device and they’ll get commissions from future purchases too. Think of someone who is selling something from Nordstrom. You click on their link for a sweater.  You don’t buy it, but the next day you go back to the Nordstrom site & order makeup. They get a commission on that because of the cookies that were left from the influencers link.

  2. These stories about using handicapped stalls reminds me of a camping trip that my DH & I took to Zion National Park. We were car/tent cot camping so we didn’t have any room to change clothes. The first night I went over to the campground restrooms & managed to get myself changed in a regular stall. When I was finished I realized that not one person had even entered the restroom & this is a busy park! The rest of the time I happily used the handicapped stall. Most people camping had the RVs with bathrooms.

I think some women wear the nylon no-show type peds, when wearing dresses or skirts with bare legs.

I have tried many brands of ped type nylons, but they tend to slip off my toes or heels. Also, in most of my shoes you can see them down the sides of my shoes....very unattractive. 😥 Is there a secret I don’t know about wearing them? I can’t stand the feeling of my bare feet in closed shoes.

OT: I don’t find Jinger’s legs unattractive, but maybe she could use the ped’s secret too.

The Bombas brand of no-show are wonderful. Maybe Jinger has found them.

Yes, but how does that translate to knowing the sex of each child? Unless she had an ultrasound and memorized the positions.  This whole BS story  it’s pretty much just Michelle‘s way of keeping Jana down. It’s no surprise Jill kind of picked up on the “resent one of your kids” vibe from mama.

Doodlebug can offer more info, but I don't think it is as out of the ordinary as we think for twin moms to know which is which.

I realize I've only given birth to two babies (separately) and may be unqualified to suggest this WTF, but how do you know which baby is kicking when with a twin pregnancy?

For part two I'll once again accept that I'm not in the professional ranks among female humans who've given birth and ask, are females more active and powerful in the womb than males, making my question number one irrelevant?

My DIL had identical twins and she could always tell which baby was kicking. They shared a sac (ETA: my mistake, they each had their own) and placenta so maybe that would restrict movement?

I know exactly what you mean. I love Christmas and decorate like a madwoman. This year, I decorated early because we had a series of rainy weekends and I did not want a wet tree. I am ready to have the decorations put away but I will still miss them when they are gone. Sunday, the tree comes down and I will take down the other things over the next few days.

Podcasts but me because I read a lot faster than anyone can talk so it feels like wasting time. I always want to find transcripts of ones that interest me.

My nephew told me about listening to podcasts at 1.5 speed. Depending on the subject & speaker, it can work out nice.

Well it was going to be a small quiet celebration with sick son and his husband and Mr lookeyloo. Now son is in a lot of pain and the remedies aren’t working and he is trying not to go to the hospital. Tomorrow is my birthday.
Hoping for health and no commotion for everyone.

I hope you have a quiet evening in and that you're able to have a peaceful, laid back birthday tomorrow. Your son and the whole family is in my prayers.

That scanner is an autofeed, and it's really best for documents. It's not good at all for scanning photos. I ran a few photos through it just to check, and nope. Not good.

For scanning photos, I use a flatbed scanner I've had for several years, a Canon. It's at least ten years old. Instead of Canon software (I think they may not even have drivers for it that are compatible with current Macs and Windows PCs), I use an app called Vuescan, which IMO is the best thing since sliced bread. It's compatible with pretty much all scanners.

If I were buying a scanner for photos today, I'd get the CanoScan (Canon) 9000F or the Epson Perfection V550. (My scanner is a Canoscan 8800F, which they don't make anymore.)

Flatbed scanners are more labor intensive than feed scanners, of course. But unless you have thousands of dollars to spend on a pro-level scanner, IMO flatbeds are really the best choice for photo scanning.

I mess around with photography (including Photoshop and Lightroom) a lot, and try to get the best quality photo files I can from my scans. So I have a fairly labor intensive workflow. Over the last few years I've scanned family photos, some decades old, to capture photos used in slideshows/videos at a couple of memorial services. My cousin paid me a huge compliment on my work a few months ago. We were at the funeral of another cousin, out of state. They had a slide show. She said to me, "Some of those images are so fuzzy I can't see the faces clearly. The ones you did were so clear and nice!"

Good luck with the scanning. I still have LOTS of photos to scan. I tend to do that in winter when it's nasty cold outdoors so now that we're in that time of year . . .

Thank you for the info. I'll look into the ones you've mentioned.

    Happy New Year, everyone!

I've just spent an hour or so, sitting here at my desk at home, scanning documents. Account statements, receipts, etc. I'd let them stack up on the desk for awhile, but it didn't take all that long to knock off the task. I aim to reduce the amount of paper in my home, and it's a surprisingly constant battle, even for someone living a quiet semi-retired life who elects paperless accounts for almost everything.

I have an excellent, fast, capable document scanner that has worked flawlessly for six and a half years now. My inner geek-child sort of lusts to get a new improved model but there's no need for it and so far I've successfully told the inner geek to STFU already. Besides, the reviews for the later model are mixed. Heh.

Now that I've consigned more paper to the "to be shredded" box? I may get radical with clearing clothing out of my closet. I mean, scary radical. I'm re-reading a wonderful book, The Chotchky Challenge, that despite - or because of - some goofy diversions, just speaks to my soul. Sitting before me here at my desk is a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt: "Do one thing every day that scares you." Donating so many items of clothing - albeit unworn for literally years now - is scary. Hmm. . .

Is that an auto feed scanner? I'm looking to scan pictures, but keep the originals in labeled boxes. I'm trying to find a scanner that isn't too expensive.

Why don’t they just get a TV. They look ridiculous huddled around a laptop, especially watching football. The kids seem to be wandering around aimlessly, ignored by their parents. Just get a TV! I know Derelict supposedly told Jill that most Millennials don’t have a TV, but all the ones I know who have a house do!

I thought they do have a TV? Or was that in their summer rental? My kids are Millennials and one just bought a 75 inch TV!!!

I don’t know who wrote this, so I’m putting it here. From the Duggar Facebook page:

These photos make my heart overflow!! Precious memories that we will forever be grateful to have. Love these ladies so very much!!
    .
Joy and sorrow seem to run on parallel tracks and often arrive at the same time. Each day of our lives delightful things occur, reasons to celebrate or smile, and often, at that exact time, there are disappointing or painful things that happen to us or those we love.
    .
Our goal in life is not to figure out how to live only on the “joy” side of the tracks, avoiding all sorrow, but to continually look to Christ who has promised to never leave us or forsake us. Blessed be the name of the Lord!
    .
We look forward to seeing Grandma Mary and baby Annabell again in Heaven someday! We celebrate the lives that have been lived, both long and short, and we rejoice with anticipation of the new little ones we can’t wait to hold! 💕
