  1. I think many shows, not just this one but this one included, suffer from poor writing and/or poor editing lately.  Anymore, many shows have convoluted storylines that don't always make sense.  I don't like when a show drags on and on forever, either, but sometimes another scene or at least a little more explanation would definitely help.  It's like the writers think, "oh, the viewers will just know what we mean here..." or the editors think, "that scene isn't important, the viewers will piece it together later..."  And it's not always the case.

I started watching Yellowstone on the Peacock app. Don’t even get me started. on what a train wreck that show is , but I’m kind of hooked on some of the storylines. Anyway, the commercials are horrible. I wonder why D00L is pretty decent with short infrequent commercials, and other shows are  like watching old Timey live TV that you  can’t fast forward through

Popularity.  Yellowstone has a lot more viewers, I'm guessing!

Yeah, that part I got, but I don't know, I guess I thought he went Mando-crazy, like one of those people my parents were friends with in the early 80's who were really into Japanese culture, like they wore kimonos on the regular, had Japanese characters framed on their wall, didn't know what they meant, ate all their meals with chopsticks, even though their names were like James and Amy Bukowski. Gideon seemed to really want to BE mandalorian. I don't know if the show ever explained why.

Oh, yes, I see what you mean.  If there's a deeper reason, then I don't know it either! 😉

Can anyone remind me why Gideon's got such a boner for Mando culture? Is he of Mando descent, perhaps outcast for joining the Imperial ranks? I get that he wanted mandalorian blood for its warrior qualities, but he moves his base there, he has a helmet that's basically from the Maul era, I just wish among the many minor tweaks that could have been made in this season, this explanation was among them. I guess "power" isn't a good enough motivation for a villain for me.

He wanted Grogu's blood because he's force sensitive.  I think he likes the Mandalorian culture because they are supposed to be some of the best fighters/warriors, and have beskar.  Moff Gideon wanted the beskar.

I admit it; I was genuinely shocked at Shawn shooting Bo. I can't remember the last time I literally stood up during an episode of Days. Bravo.

I was too!  And why did he do it?  Sure, he was holding the gun on Hope, but he was swaying and wavering so much, it was pretty obvious that he wasn't going to shoot her...

OK - I am definitely going to need a recap for today! Sounds like there was some action, for sure.

Hope found Bo, and he told her that he doesn't want her anymore and to not call him "Brady" because he's a Kiriakis.  After some back and forth, she wanted to see Steve and grabbed her gun, but Bo pulled his on her and told her to drop it, then took her to the top of a cliff.  (Horrible CGI here, btw.)  She pleaded with him and there was a flashback montage where he was remembering, and he called her Fancy Face.  As he did that, Shawn (who knew where to find Hope from Harris) and Steve (who dug his way through a wall with a spoon), came up on the cliff and Shawn shot Bo with no warning.  The show ended with Bo laying on the ground and Hope calling to him.

In addition to season 4 being written it's been reported on industry and production sites that Mando season 4 is in pre-production to begin filming in October.  I trust those kind of websites more than anything else.

I had to learn the hard way that you cannot trust  fan sites even with millions of followers as many of them have various agendas that conflict with what I like and want from the show.  There are the Disney haters, the Grogu haters, the sequels haters, the Pedro Pascal haters.  And all those youtube channels whose bread and butter is constant negativity.

I agree and take all of the fan sites with a heaping grain of salt.  I only found that one interesting because she gave herself the disclaimer and said multiple times they were just rumors that she heard and she couldn't verify anything, but they were interesting enough tidbits to ponder.  I don't believe that Pedro wasn't on set at all during Season 3.

The Last of Us season 1 took one year to film, and I can find an article that quotes Pedro as saying that there's only a chance that season 2 starts filming before the end of 2023.  If Mando starts in October, that gives him a couple months (hopefully, or more) to be on the Mando set and do the helmetless scenes (fingers crossed!).  Plus, he obviously must get some time off during that year and isn't needed on TLoU set every single day.

  7. I suppose I'm in an entirely different camp (no pun intended) on my prediction - Bode will get paroled and immediately be hired/promoted to Manny's job and be in charge of Three Rock.  That's not the cheesy Hollywood way we all see this going?  I understand when people say that Bode will do something to mess up getting paroled, but he always gets away with everything, so why stop now?  He'll bust Sleeper rather than get caught up in it and be commended for his exemplary (eyeroll) behavior.

That can’t be true. One of the actresses from Guns For Hire has said that she filmed with Pedro. I’ve read a few reports that he had a break during filming The Last of Us where is filmed for season 3 but can’t confirm it. Season 3 reshoots were after TLoU finished filming. If they really wanted a helmetless scene they could have done it.

That's what I thought too.  Plus now that I think about it more, it's just one scene with minimal CGI needs - they could have filmed it a month before the show premiered and edited it in.  Maybe the helmet thing will be answered in Ahsoka or next season...

  9. Here's a video I just watched with some interesting rumors.  As she says, take it all with a big grain of salt, they are all just rumors

She says that Din was supposed to take his helmet off in the last scene with Grogu and the frog.  But due to Pedro's unavailability, they couldn't film it.  I find it hard to believe that Pedro couldn't find a day or 2 somewhere to be able to film a scene, but I guess anything is possible.

  10. At least Shawn finally gets involved too.

But is Soap Dirt written by an 8-year-old?  That was... not good.  (No offense meant to 8-year-olds.)

Are we supposed to care about Harris Michaels?  I sure don't.  I'm here for the Bo and Hope reunion; once it's over, I'll probably tune out again.

I think the show was trying to say that Bo-Katan had finally become a leader through uniting her people and trying to bridge the gap between them. She is holding her leadership position by having brought two opposing Mandalorian tribes together. It probably won't be an easy road but it's better than where they were after basically a genocide.

I think that Bo is now the leader of the Mandalorians, with the Armorer passing her the torch at the end, literally and figuratively.  It was Bo who re-lit the forge.  I'm not sure that the Armorer necessarily always wanted to be a leader, she was just thrust into that role after the purge.  I'm thinking that she's actually happy to have someone else back to make the tough decisions.

I rewatched the episode and I can answer my own question from an earlier post, if anyone cares - I asked where R5 came from.  He was outside waiting on the surface the whole time, hiding behind a rock near where they all landed initially.  He then used his rocket boosters to fly down to the base (which I think I did catch the flying part in my first viewing).  I'm pretty sure he's in Mando's N-1 at the very end, too, but it was hard to tell.  He's either in there, or Grogu has his bubble back, but I think it was R5.

I think Grogu is becoming a pacifist Mandalorian.  I was told those did exist and that Bo's sister was one. Remember when he had to be prompted several times to shoot Ragnar with the paint ball dart?

When Din officially adopted him his little chest swelled with pride.

The little guy remembered IG-11  bacta-spraying Din in the first season and made sure to spray a lot on Din's helmet and his armor.

I agree, I hope he's going to be the peacemaker.  Plus, he stopped the fight between Axe and Paz when Bo said that no one could step in.  Little Grogu didn't care, he'll stop them!

I also enjoyed the fact that he kept spraying long after Din said he was okay and didn't need it.  Grogu wasn't taking any chances!

  13. Article from Esquire about the upcoming movie:  https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/movies/a43540427/ahsoka-mandalorian-movie-release-date-cast-news-spoilers/

It says they asked Pedro about his interest in joining the Star Wars movie universe before they knew about the movie announcement, and his response was "fuck yeah."  That doesn't seem like a guarded response from someone who is unhappy to me, but what do I know. 😉

Maybe they could bring back Cobb Vanth for the fourth season.  I want to see him again and he could fit in well with the  "Rangers" elements.  And he fits in well with the Western vibe too.

I expected to see him in this season, given the post-credits scene from Boba Fett.  I can't imagine he'll be in Ahsoka or one of the other shows.

Was I the only one expecting Grogu to say something cute? Glad they didn't go that route.

Nope! I thought he might bust out a little “This is the way” when they were at the living waters, but that would have been a little too cute.

I was waiting for "Dad" at the adoption ceremony.  I think it would have been cheesy, but I was game for it.

Yes. There are some who believe that family is an exception to the helmet rule but the show has never said that it is. Next season should answer that definitively.

He is, but they all seem to have zero problem with Bo as their leader now so I suspect some softening must be going on. Either that or the Armorer is their true leader despite them pledging allegiance to Bo.

Plus, did everyone notice that when Ragnar re-did his oath, the Armorer left out the "never show your face" part?  He said the oath he'd already completed, and then she poured the water and they were done.  I'm thinking that might be important later on...

So how come Gideon refers to Din as "The Mandalorian"? And Carl Weathers does too. I'd get that if Din was the only Mando you ever came across but that's not the case for these two, they have been up to their armpits in Mandos but call Din by that name.

I think it all stems from the first season when no one knew his name and he wouldn't tell anyone his name.  Greef Karga just called him Mando, although we know that Moff Gideon knew his real name and still does.  Din Djarin isn't the only Mandalorian anymore, but he's still the main character.

That sure felt like a possible series finale if they decide to end it after this season.

I just finished watching and thought the same exact thing.  But Favreau said that he's written Season 4; I'm wondering if this is a contingency plan if Pedro pulls out.

I loved this episode.  I, too, was wondering who was going to die.  I was happy to see that neither Axe nor the Armorer were traitors, and I thought Axe was going to die in a kamikaze mission.  I guess I forgot about his jet pack.

I also love that it's come full circle, back to just Din Djarin and Din Grogu, going on Daddy and Me adventures.  I was disappointed that Mando didn't take off his helmet when he was alone at his cabin; he easily could have.  That was the most disappointing moment of the episode, but I'll get over it.

I also want to rewatch it, because as asked above - just how did IG-12 Grogu find Mando and save him when all of the others were escaping to regroup?  Did he go rogue on his own?  I can't really believe that Bo would have let him do that, so he must have snuck off.  And where did R5 come from?  But yay for saving the day!  Did we see him around the forge at the end?  He made it, right?  He should have been with Mando on Nevarro at the end...

  19. I'm cautiously looking forward to it, but it will be very hard to separate the now-famous actors from the roles that made them famous, and JK Rowling.  Also, the scenery in the movies was gorgeous, and Hogwarts *is* Hogwarts.  How will all new sets, in addition to new actors, stack up?  I think it's too soon, but I reserve the right to change my mind if they actually pull it off.

No - Duchess Satine is different from Sabine Wren, but they are both Mandalorians. Sabine was on Star Wars Rebels. Satine was on Clone Wars, and she was the almost girlfriend of Obi-Wan. Sabine is a warrior, Satine a queen like diplomat that was ruler of Mandalore (although she could also fight when necessary). Duchess Satine was Bo-Katan's sister, Sabine is not.

Oh, thank you!  I did not know that there were two with such similar names.

  21. I just rewatched the episode, and I don't know why I did that to myself... 😥

I'm going to laugh if we spent the last week debating who the other spy is/was and it turns out, it's none of the Mandalorians and is like some Spy for Thrawn that appeared briefly in the Imperial scene 😁😆

I was thinking this too as I rewatched.  I still don't know.
