  1. Hi all. I haven't seen this update yet, but ditto on Halo Top Vanilla Bean. It's more like ice milk to me but it's good stuff. Okay, see you guys.
  2. People on Twitter last night wanted to start a GoFundMe for Princess and the cat.
  3. You are absolutely right. As bureaucracies usually do, they go after law-abiding people. It isn't pain patients who are abusing pain meds. It's recreational users. My doctor says MDS are losing their licenses for prescribing "too much" pain meds. Patients are turning to heroin and fentanyl. Drug deals don't ask questions. And I don't know about fentanyl but heroin is potent and relatively cheap. I never thought about that. I was suicidal once and went into the hospital. They took my belt and shoelaces. At the time my fingers were too fat to wear my wedding/engagement rings. Luckily I later lost enough weight to wear them. :)
  4. I'm sorry for your mom. I was in my 60s the first time I went to a pain management clinic (in NJ), and I had to give them my pharmacy info. I had only ever used the one since moving to this state. I don't use pain meds now, but I'm pretty sure they do check. Also my clinic doesn't hand out script. They transmit Rx info directly to the patient's pharmacy. And when I was taking meds I always had to bring the vial, so they could count how many pills were left. Not a big deal for me because they gave me something (Norco) that didn't really help that much anyway. But to me it's no wonder some people with hardcore pain turn to street drugs.
  5. Dang, I missed the last hour or so of Steven's story because my husband got fed up and he wanted to watch "Black Sails" (great show, btw; too bad it's over). So I recorded the rest of it, and I'm watching it now. But people were tweeting the clip where Steven falls off the golf cart, so I saw that part on Twitter without sound.
  6. I felt bad for that one nurse who was near tears. She had to clean up his pee. And nurses aren't crybabies.
  7. Nah, a cat can deal with that. A dog would have gotten attached.
  8. Oh, yeah, I keep forgetting whether it was Penny or Pauline: "OWIE...I hurt my tooooe." I don't know if she was the same one who thanked an aide for being so nice to her while she was being weighed, as if everyone else at the hospital had been torturing her just trying to get her out of bed. And when one patient had stayed in bed "only" for 4 days post-op, and Dr Now replied: "Everybody goes home on the second day." Maybe it was "third," but that lady would still be in the hospital today if Dr. Now had permitted it.
  9. Argh. I think I'm ready. But I've been reading the posts here and I agree that there is some serious BS'ing of the audience going on here. Junior is just full of it. The father doesn't quite sound kosher either. I'm wondering if his son knows if Dad has something to hide. So far Justin is the only one I feel bad for. I can't imagine having a big brother like Junior. I never tried a Suffering Bastard, but I do remember them in the 70s. I think I drink Tequila Sunrises and Harvey Wallbangers back then. Have fun, everyone. I just finished my chicken and broccoli. Boring but I'm trying to lose a few. This show is my Scared Straight.
  10. My husband is not obese but he is elderly, and two years ago had heart surgery. In his cardiac rehab, they gave him something called a "hip kit," which included a lot of simple devices to help people with mobility issues to groom and dress themselves. I know some of them don't own clothes big enough, but I would think some of the smaller patients would benefit from something like that.
  11. My husband thought Joe WAS a girl. I kinda have a soft spot for Joe. He wasn't a whiner and he seemed to be a polite, decent guy. I hope things turned out well for him.
  12. Whenever Dr. Now asks a bed-bound patient "And how does the food get into the house?" Seriously, everyone above has already covered my favorites. Though I'm partial to "Nobody told me I was gonna have to lose weight here!" and Pauline (?) tearfully telling Dr.Now "I HAVE MADE YOU MY EARTHLY GOD!"
  13. Is it me, but do I hear a touch of a German accent in Lange's portrayal of Joan? Maybe I keep hearing her as Elsa Mars in American Horror Story, but I remember her speaking with no such accent in "Tootsie." Maybe my ears are playing tricks on me!
  14. Actually I sort of liked Tracey. At least she seemed to have something between her ears. I thought her husband might be on the down-low. But then my gaydar isn't the best.
  15. Lol, I am watching this AGAIN and every time I get madder at James. Lisa is expected to figure out EVERYTHING while he lies in bed peeing and moaning. He's such a BS artist about his dad, claiming how angry he is that he's unable to help his father, who MORTGAGED HIS DAMN HOUSE to haul James's ponderous ass to Houston. I didn't even see him thank his father. GAH!!
  16. I turned 63 in January. WHTBJ was on TCM this afternoon. Maybe it's On Demand if you get that.
  17. God forgive me, when they were telling him he was going to have to endure some contact with things as they tried to get him through the door, I wanted one of those patient attendants to reach out and give James a quick slap upside the head. And I have NEVER seen Dr. Now so angry. Not that he didn't have every right. I agree that Lisa is with James for economic reasons. He treats her horribly.
  18. I rarely eat fast food, if only because I dont drive much and never got into the habit. I watch M600PL for the same reason you do. I never heard someone else say it before. For me, it's a cautionary tale. I think there is some element of morbid fascination for a lot of viewers or else this show wouldn't be in its 5th season.
  19. I thought that was his mother at first!
  20. Best wishes on your upcoming nuptials! I have never used my Fry Daddy because I'm afraid of grease fires. It's been in the box for ages. I saw her and thought the same thing!
  21. I didn't know about the Facebook page, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I love this show. I am not supermorbidly obese, just BMI-"overweight, " but I lost 65 pounds over the last 18 months and this show reminds me of how hard it really can be, and how other peeps struggle. Right now I'm watching Joe, who may be my favorite cast member of all time. I'm brand-new here, so please forgive me if this post is out of order in any way. B.
