  1. Savages is a pretty good episode, it was a great twist that it was the accountant Sandig who killed the undercover cop and not his drug dealer client, I liked how they figured it out, good detective work. Curtis was a prick as usual though and I loved Anita chewing his ass out when he got rough with the suspect in interrogation, Curtis was such a smug prick, I really couldn’t stand him a lot of the time, and he kept on being a wiseass to Anita and Lennie throughout this episode. It was interesting seeing Adam having to decide whether or not to seek the death penalty, I liked his interaction with his judge friend, I have mixed feelings about the death penalty but I felt no sympathy for Sandig and I didn’t buy his remorse act - he was a greedy bastard who was just sorry he got caught, his wife saying he “wasn’t a bad man” was pathetic, yeah he was, he put 6 bullets in a detective so his financial crimes wouldn’t get exposed , just because he was well educated and rich and on the surface respectable doesn’t make him any less evil. It was a clever move by Jack to have Sandig charged for killing a witness to a crime so he could charge murder 1. Jeopardy is probably my favorite episode of season 6 - an awesome case. I love Adam going to the police station to confront the corrupt judge, that was great, only time we saw Adam at the police station, he was great in that scene where he just gives everyone a look letting them know he wants to talk to the judge alone and then tells the judge he’s going to prison. I also liked how Adam realized something was off with Judge Hines because of how he had ruled on past cases, referencing one of Ben’s cases where Hines had ruled differently under the same circumstances. Jack was great here as well, I liked his argument about how double jeopardy didn’t apply because the defendant was never in jeopardy and the defendant couldn’t profit from illegal activities. I liked Jack telling Nicodos that he kicked the system and don’t be surprised when it turns around and bites him after the judge reinstated the charges. I like the detective stuff as well and how they zeroed in on Peter Nicodos as the perp. It’s a great episode.
  2. Yeah I felt no sympathy for Lasky, he was a very fucked up dude, he killed two innocent people he never met and he was very mean to his daughter, she was the one I felt sorry for, having a sicko dad like that and a mom who seemed spineless. Yeah Mrs Foley was an elitist snob and I didn’t like her but Lasky killed two people that he never met including a child just because of a 30 year old grudge. He gets no sympathy from me. Cutter’s trick in that episode annoyed me because I felt he was very lucky to find a woman named Susan who was in the sorority at around the time of Lasky’s college years who wound up marrying a blue collar guy. Yes Susan was a more common name back then but still it felt very lucky and Cutter would’ve been screwed without it. It just got old how often Cutter resorted to some kind of trick to win.
  3. My guess is financial issues as well - I bet both MW and International are costly to film, with MW being on the go constantly at different locations and International being overseas in various places. Whereas with original FBI a lot of scenes are set at headquarters. Still a huge bummer though, I liked both shows, if Dick Wolf had to cancel shows I wish he would’ve cancelled one of those Chicago soap operas or the Olivia Benson Hour aka SVU.
  4. Horrible mistake to cancel MW and International, I have no idea what CBS/Dick Wolf/whoever’s behind this decision is thinking. MW has the best cases of the 3 shows and International has been strong this season. I’m very disappointed by this, and if it’s to make room for that stupid goddamn proposed CIA spinoff that’s even more dumb, that show sounds no different from original FBI while these shows were unique. I’m fucking pissed about this.
  5. Claire’s exit is the only one that rivals the awfulness of Green’s exit - abruptly killing off Claire in a car crash at the very end of the show’s worst ever episode was poor. Borgia’s murder was sad and very brutal, but I didn’t care enough about her to have it really make a strong impact. But sending the awesome Green out under a cloud of being accused of murder and nearly sent to prison was awful, such a lousy exit for an awesome detective. At least Logan got to come back on CI for a couple of seasons and end his career on a good note, even if his ultimate exit on CI was rather abrupt. Green was dragged through the mud for no good reason and it was rather OOC of him to not tell the truth from the start - like I say it would’ve made more sense if he was the father of April’s kid but that apparently wasn’t the case. Only redeeming factor of that episode was Lupo/Bernard getting to the bottom of it, they were a good team and I liked how Green thanked Lupo for being a good cop at the end. And yeah it would be nice to think that Logan, Curtis and Green were at the party for Anita in the finale, maybe they were and just not shown, although Curtis was probably back in California by then, and who knows what Green and Logan were up to.
  6. Like I say, as nice as a funeral would’ve been with everyone gathered to remember Lennie, it would’ve been impossible to get all of the characters who knew and loved Lennie together for a scene, plus L&O isn’t the kind of show to dedicate too much time to non-case stuff, and Lennie had already said goodbye to the Mothership at the end of season 14. But yeah a line from Green or Van Buren shortly after Lennie’s death would’ve been nice. I’m glad each of Lennie’s 3 partners got to pay tribute to him after his death, Logan on CI and Green and Curtis on the Mothership - it was nice to know they had all stayed in touch with Lennie for the rest of his life. I’ll never understand why TBJ cut out the scene paying tribute to Lennie, and just ignored his death, I think that really hurt the show.
  7. A brief mention of/tribute to Lennie would’ve been nice, it was Trial By Jury that screwed the pooch epically, they had a scene of the characters returning from Lennie’s memorial service and remembering him, and for some stupid reason they cut it. As nice as it would’ve been to have everyone who knew Lennie get together and remember him, it would’ve been impossible to get all of those characters together for a memorial scene. I have no idea why TBJ deleted their scene paying tribute to Lennie. And a brief mention of Lennie from Green/Van Buren in the season after he died would’ve been nice, but I’m glad each of Lennie’s 3 partners got to have lines remembering him.
  8. I did as well, and it was the first mention of his death on the Mothership - Logan mentioned it on CI, and Curtis mentioned Lennie in season 20 when he had a cameo. I liked that each of Lennie’s 3 partners paid tribute to him after he died.
  9. Green’s exit was arguably the worst in L&O history - it was a real bummer that they sent him out under a cloud and made him look shady. Would’ve been better if he had either accepted a promotion or chosen to step down to do something new with his life. Instead he broke a bunch of rules and looked shady and basically had to resign. Terrible exit for Green. Only part of the episode I liked was Lupo and the start of the Lupo/Bernard partnership, and I liked the mention of Lennie, but I don’t know why they sent Green out in such a downer fashion.
  10. Pretty good episode, would’ve been very good had they dialed back the St O worship, but still solid and better than most modern SVU episodes, this season has impressed me by bouncing back after an awful season 25 and we’ve had a decent amount of good episodes this season. Carisi was really the highlight of the show, I’m really liking getting more courtroom scenes with him this season and he’s shining in them, it’s nice that SVU has gotten back in court more this season and that it’s usually well written without vilifying the DAs office for not blindly doing St O’s bidding. Nice to see solid court scenes. I liked Bruno and Silva doing the bar canvas, and Fin and Velasco got good stuff as well. I also liked the victim and thought they did a good job of a more realistic and ordinary victim instead of a pretty young rich white girl that we’ve seen way too much of. I do wish the rapist’s motivations and psyche had been fleshed out more other than just knowing about the one past assault. What dragged down the episode some was Benson and the usual saintly portrayal of her - she has to been the all knowing victim whisperer who takes it personally and can feel their pain. It gets old seeing her portrayed as a perfect beacon of wisdom and it drags down the show. But overall this was a pretty good episode that had a nice flow to it and used each character well, it’s just too bad Mariska has to go over the top each week and drag things down.
  11. Yes his wife didn’t show to his election night watch party and it was unclear whether they would separate or not, but nothing has been mentioned since. I’m interested if they reveal any more about this, but please don’t make his life a soap opera
  12. Decent story but I absolutely hated Shaw here - he should be fired or at the very least suspended. I’m pissed that the show has trashed an up to this point great character. I was hoping someone would punch him honestly - Shaw was disgusting putting himself above the law and putting his friend’s career ahead of doing the right thing, he was no better than the cops who bend the rules to suit their own agenda. Price was right to tell him off but I’m sure it will be forgotten about by next episode (and I kind of hope it is, as another poster put we don’t need an Olivia Benson on the Mothership, but it would also be nice to see him suspended for his actions) but I would have a hard time trusting him again. Disgusting that Shaw thought his coward friend’s career was worth more than getting justice for the victim just because the victim was rich, Shaw was playing god and acting like St Olivia. The perp deserved a hell of a lot more than the 6 to 10 she got. Shaw was disgusting here, I mean Riley didn’t act improper when his own brother was caught up in a case and when his brother acted like a coward and got in the way of justice Riley had him arrested. Shaw thinks that because of the different social status, his friend’s career was worth more than the victim’s life. Fuck that. Up until the end it was a very good episode, I liked the investigation and I thought Shaw/Riley did a good job as usual and I liked their interactions with the witnesses/suspects. Price/Baxter/Maroun were good as well, I particularly liked Price tonight, although Baxter was right at the end that they needed to make a deal - the judge wouldn’t give them anymore time and it would take a long time to get the witness back from Japan and wrangle with the military over it. On another note, it was odd that Baxter got a bottle of liquor from a female admirer given that he’s married - did him and his wife split up/does he have a mistress, and will that be revisited? I did think there was some more humor and good one liners here, I hope that continues. So it was a solid ripped from the headlines case about celeb drug addiction, but I hated how they trashed Shaw and made him play god and act like St O. But Shaw really soured on me after this episode and I hope this never happens again.
  13. Episode description A Midwestern tourist is viciously attacked in Times Square; as the squad scours the area for clues, the victim takes the investigation into her own hands; a secret motive threatens to derail Carisi’s case
  14. Episode description An actor’s foray into experimental drug therapy leads to his murder; Shaw reconnects with a mentor who may hold the key to identifying a suspect.
  15. Burn Card was just on, and this was such a bummer of an exit for Green, who was an awesome character - I really disliked how they sent him out under a cloud and made him look kind of shady. His gambling habit had been known since the start of his time on the show, but I wish he had gone out on a higher note instead of how he did go out - it was one of the worst exits on L&O. Lupo was really good in this episode and I liked how Green thanked him for doing a good job at the end, he did a very good job in clearing Green’s name even though Green didn’t want the witness found - Lupo was such a good character, I wish there had been more episodes of him and Green together. It was a solid intro to Bernard as well and I liked how him and Lupo worked together, but it was a real bummer Green went out under a cloud. And Cutter seemed to want Green to be guilty, he was rather quick to judge Green harshly, although he made a valid point that if it was a cop they didn’t know they would be more suspicious. I thought it was going to turn out that Green was the father of the kid of the woman he was trying to protect but they didn’t go there, so it was kind of flimsy that Green would risk everything to protect this woman. I liked the mention of Lennie and Green mourning his death but overall it was a downer exit for a great character. Bogeyman is on now, and I really can’t stand Cutter here, pretending he was a member of the cult at the end to badger the defendant into a guilty plea was an underhanded move and it was another annoying example of Cutter using trickery to win. Cutter just came off as shady here.
  16. This was kind of a boring episode, not bad but I couldn’t get into it as much as normal - not many twists and the villains/people involved weren’t as compelling as normal. Remy was missing, he would’ve had some good lines towards these drug dealing douchebags - I know some dislike Remy but I like the charisma he brings and some of the stuff he says to the bad guys. Didn’t care about Ethan either. This show doesn’t have many boring episodes but this kind of felt like filler.
  17. Another good episode - I didn’t see it coming that the witness was the killer and I liked how the plot played out, strong case. I feel that this show has hit its stride this season, and I like the team a lot - Wes has settled in to become a strong team leader. I figured the new agent would back him up and would wind up turning against the bureaucrat putting the screws to her, kind of a cliched storyline and I’m sure it will end with Wes taking down the higher up, but I am interested as to why the guy has it in for Wes.
  18. Good episode - I liked seeing Scola/OA work together, and it was a good twist that the jurors weren’t the targets but the Marshal was. I did call the shot that the academy leader would be one of the abusers, he had villain written all over him. Liked the scenes at headquarters with Jubal and company as well. Nina crossing over was nice but I wasn’t really sure why she was there, I guess since Maggie wasn’t they needed another agent. Solid case and storyline.
  19. No they haven’t gotten back together since then that we know of, and that was the last onscreen appearance of Ethan. Not sure where that storyline will go from here.
  20. Agreed that Serena and Alex are the two ADAs I didn’t care for and Maroun reminds me a lot of Serena. I don’t think L&O is trauma porn by any means, not moreso than any other crime procedural, it’s always been a case centric, no nonsense type of show - I agree I would like a bit more humor in it but no one can match Lennie Briscoe as far as delivering great one liners (or Adam for that matter on the legal side). The biggest issue with L&O right now has been the infusion of personal melodrama into the show, I think that giving the characters personal issues in some of the episodes has made the show less enjoyable and more soap opera-ish, I don’t want the characters lives bogged down with personal melodramatic crap, it can make the characters miserable and weakens the show. One reason I liked this episode a lot was because it was a more “ordinary” type of case - a more routine murder committed over a love triangle, the people involved weren’t famous, there wasn’t much in the way of politics, they touched on issues of restorative justice and the utopian closed off community but it wasn’t heavy handed and they avoided going overboard with their portrayal of the community, and there was no personal melodrama, overall it was just a solid investigation and legal work of a murder case. This was one of the season’s best episodes, I hope there are more like it coming up.
  21. Love Rubirosa, can’t stand Cutter. Cutter was way too arrogant and smug and seemed to be in it for his ego more than for justice. I wish Connie had become lead prosecutor when Jack became DA. I think Connie is my favorite of the female lawyers.
  22. Price has been pretty good overall this season IMO, I like him more than most do, and I think the lead prosecutor role is the hardest role in the show as the character will constantly be compared to McCoy/Stone and you just can’t get up to that level of greatness. L&O hit a grand slam when they got Sam/Jack to replace Moriarty/Stone, and future lead ADAs will get heat just because they can’t be that strong. Maroun can leave any time, she reminds me a lot of Serena, whiny and soft and not in line with the objectives of the DAs office. Overall I like the cast a lot now - Riley/Shaw are my favorites, they are an awesome detective pairing and I hope for several more years of them together. Brady has grown on me and Baxter is a good DA and I’m fine overall with Price as lead prosecutor. Maroun is the weak link. As for the confession being suppressed this week I’m not sure how it would’ve been ruled if the guy hadn’t been a minister, police are allowed to use some forms of trickery and lies when dealing with suspects but it’s risky as a judge might toss it. This wasn’t nearly as egregious as the incident earlier in the season when Brady basically coerced a confession from the teen having a panic attack, I hated Brady then, these suspects were in their right mind and nothing was coerced but I figured it would get tossed.
  23. As I’ve said before I wish Connie had become lead prosecutor when Jack became DA - she would’ve been awesome, and she was a much better character than Cutter. So I would be absolutely fine with a female lead prosecutor but absolutely not Maroun - she’s the weak link of the current cast. Riley/Shaw are the best part of the show, love them both, and I hope for several more seasons of them together. We’re never going to see any more characters from the show’s original run again, and I’m completely fine with that - L&O is more about plots than characters, and bringing back someone from the first 20 years would feel like a gimmick and would be very forced, plus after the way they crapped on Jamie for no reason I don’t want them to have a chance to do it again. Overall this show has a strong cast right now IMO. My biggest issue with this season has been the infusion of personal melodrama into some of the episodes, they need to dial that back and leave the personal stuff to SVU. One reason I liked this episode a lot was because there wasn’t any personal crap thrown in. I think if anyone is leaving it’s Maroun - maybe it’s wishful thinking and I obviously don’t know if any actor is planning to do something new, but I could definitely see Maroun getting burned out and deciding to leave the office and work as more of an activist type lawyer.
  24. I think if anyone is leaving at the end of this season it’s Maroun, I could see her getting burned out given how she constantly takes things personally and seems to clash with objective of the DAs office at times. Maybe this is just me being hopeful though since Maroun is my least favorite. I don’t think Maroun becomes lead prosecutor if Price leaves given that the actress isn’t well known, I think they would bring in someone more well known.
  25. Season 17 is the weakest L&O season both because of Detective Beauty Queen and because there are more subpar plots in this season than in any other season. There are some true clunkers in here - I also dislike In Vino Veritas and found its plot very forced and cliched and rather cringeworthy - my least favorite of the season is Talking Points, it was also a very cliched plot that was almost all politics with one note cardboard characters and I couldn’t even tell what it was going for other than trying to be controversial for the sake of being controversial. I also dislike Church, Melting Pot, and Release, again the plots felt stale and clunky. Those episodes I usually skip when this season is on. I agree the season finished strong - I like the last 4 episodes and think they have strong plots. My favorite of this season is definitely Deadlock - that was a genuinely terrific episode with an evil perp, an intense manhunt in the first half, and then a lot of good legal stuff in the second.
