I gave up on Fringe after the second season finale. I adored the show up until that last episode. When Olivia decided that she would rather fuck over the world than be without Peter, I gave the show a serious side eye. I did give the 3rd season a few episodes to redeem itself ( in my eyes) but it just became all about the "love" between Peter and Olivia. I was not interested in that story. Is it too much to ask that a female character be motivated by something other than a boyfriend and/or her children? God forbid a woman want to save the world or perform her job just because its the right thing to do.

I don't like TWD. When it was first announced, I was really excited about it. I love zombie movies. Then I watched the first episode...ugh. We are introduced to 2 of our main characters through a conversation they have in their squad car. One asshole goes on about how cruel women/his wife is, and asshole number 2 talks about them like they are just body parts. So of course asshole number 2 is having an affair with the cruel wife of asshole number 1. I could look past all this if this was a movie because I could root for them to get killed, but this is a tv show. These guys survived the first episode and that was enough for me. I am not going to waste my precious time a couple of dick heads that I'd rather see eaten right after the opening credits.

Faux Life: Things That Happen On TV But Not In Reality
x1013x replied to Kromm's topic in Everything Else TV
Only on Tv does everybody and their mother own Macs. Doesn't matter what profession they are or what tax bracket they live in. Also said Mac is running some OS other than whatever Mac related OS. I know there are some exceptions ( Orphan Black and BBT for starters), but more often than not if someone has a laptop its a Mac. -
Jane and Maura: Titular Characters and Super Close Friends
x1013x replied to AlwaysWatching's topic in Rizzoli & Isles [V]
Just a quick note on this. The actresses have both acknowledged that they do indeed put in "ho-yay" stuff on purpose. They included little things as a wink to the Rizzles fan base. So its not like people are seeing things that aren't really there. -
Not Like Ships In The Night: Shippers
x1013x replied to Enigma X's topic in Actor/Character-Related Talk
So when Hoyt showed back up on True Blood, I was happy to see one of my favorite characters again. Never did I imagine that the Jessica/Hoyt ship could happen again. I thought they'd just have Hoyt and Jessica meet briefly to reinforce that the glamour was still working. Jessica would be a bit sad but happy that Hoyt was doing well. Color me very very surprised (and happy) that they had more interaction then that. Hoyt just can't help himself. He's drawn to Jess ( and Jason somewhat) even when they are "strangers". Their scenes are one of the few bright spots this season. Those scenes bring back the feelings of the early years. -
Not Like Ships In The Night: Shippers
x1013x replied to Enigma X's topic in Actor/Character-Related Talk
I have different degrees of shipping. Usually ships can make but not break a show in my eyes. Most of the time I might enjoy a certain ship but if it weren't there anymore I'd still watch the show. This list would include Vauseman (OITNB), Erica and Frankie (Wentworth), Hoyt and Jessica (TrueBlood), and Mulder and Scully (X files). Then I have ships that really stick with me. They are the ones I seek out fanfic and/or fan videos for. The list is Cophine (Orphan Black), Dana and Lara (The L Word), Willow and Tara (BtVS), Xena and Gabrielle (Xena), and Helen and Nikki (Bad Girls, but I didn't find them until their time on the show was over). When I like a ship this much, the two characters are usually my 2 favorite characters on the show. Once 1 or both to them are gone my interest in the show can wane pretty fast. If one of them is killed off that is a deal breaker. I will walk away and never look back.... unless they were killed at the end of the series (damn you Xena!). I can't say there are any ships that made me stop watching a show, but there are some ships that just rub me the wrong way. I am not one to blast what some people like because I know damn well my ships are not always everyone's cup of tea. This list would be Sookie and Bill (Trueblood), Dexter and Hannah (Dexter), and Spuffy (BtVS). -
I noticed this too. I chalked it up to her being nauseous. She was having trouble finding food she actually wanted to eat that didn't make her feel sick hence the plain toast then the toast with cream cheese.

Well for those of us who thought there might be something between Jessica and Adilyn: Whole spoilery interview can be found here.

Not to worry. We all have different experiences, share them on the interwebz, and walk away better for it. Or we roll with it until we get distracted by.....ooooh shiny.

Like Spy vs. Spy but Sexual: the Vauseman Thread
x1013x replied to bravelittletoaster's topic in Orange Is The New Black
I am totally onboard for more Vauseman. I will fully admit that I have shallow reasons for liking them together. On a not so shallow note, they are made for each other because they are both so toxic. Them being together keeps other people from falling into their crazy shit. They both make the other care about someone other than themselves once in awhile. -
We didn't see them having sex. We just saw Nicky stick her hands down the front of Alex's pants since that is what she wanted for Christmas. Alex was more than willing to oblige. If they actually had sex, Id say Alex would be topping even from the bottom.
-
Also if we follow the logic the logic that Sir RaiderDuck OMS is using, that would make Piper butch. If Nicky = butch and she was hooking up with Alex, then that means Alex is femme. Which then would have to make Piper butch since double homo is not a thing for some people. My wife and I are both andro/tomboy and both get called sir a lot. So I know that sometimes even butch/femme does not describe a lesbian. It does make much more sense to go with Top/Bottom when talking about sexual compatibility. Even then you still have switch hitters.

I don't get that either, but given Cosima's warning about ruining her career, I guess even Cosima thought Delphine was still doing all this for her own future. Delphine takes all the teeth out of that threat when, on her first day a director, she betrays Rachel/Dyad. Not a smart move if she was worried about her career.
-
I don't know how unpopular these opinions are for the Orphan Black fandom in general, but they seem to be around some of the corners of the internet that I hang around in. Cophine: Number 1 favorite part of the show. No it is not because I am starving for queer women to be represented on TV in any way, shape, or form. If I was just happy to have a lesbian character on TV, I'd be sitting through the dreck that is Two and Half Men. I am elated that these characters and their story is not "OMG I like women!". The show creators have mentioned how their story is a love story first and foremost. Delphine's character could have easily been a male character and the story would remain the same. Chemistry is in the eye of the beholder I guess because I think EB and TM have tons with some to spare. Delphine/EB: Was Delphine doing some shady shit most of this season? Yes. Her intention was never to hurt Cosima. The woman she loves is dying. She is making choices from the heart instead of the head. I don't think it makes her extremely stupid, it just makes her human. Once she took it too far, Cosima called her out. She then tried to hold up her proimse to love them all by warning Sarah of a possible danger. She got played as they all did. I have seen EB in other projects and I don't see where anyone gets the idea that she is a bad actress. People praise how JG is able to pull off all these different relationships with many different characters all played by TM. I'd say EB is doing a pretty bang up job at it too. Cosima's story line: I have enjoyed her science storyline all season. I didn't think it was dragging or boring.
